My favorite Kolchak episode because it features another favorite actresses from a favorite horror TV series. The witch turned "top model" is none other than Lara Parker of "Dark Shadows" fame ... and in my opinion ... the best witch character ... and the best scream ... in TV and movie horror.
This was a genuinely creepy espisode. I still remember the scene where the model gets boiled-alive in the shower. That was VERY strong stuff to show on TV in 1974!
Oh yeah, brings back memories for me too. Back in the 70's, it just seemed like everything was more intense. Make-up on mannequins, clothing styles like big platform shoes, even previews of horror shows at the drive-ins, and cinemas. Just seemed like an extreme decade for alot of things.
I like the video and all the others that follow, but it sucks when you cant find the ones that follow, for example this one or others of this wonderful show I have had a hard time finding the sequel, be more like the anime shows, and do them in two or threes if you have to split them up at all, please, thanks.
This episode was so good. The dialogue, and theme holds up really well - a few of the other epsides look dated and the monsters looked fake. But this Witchcraft in the fashion industry story is timeless.
Hey, there! That episode with Richard Kiel is called 'Bad Medecine' where he played the diablarro.
Kiel actually played guest monster in two episodes. He was the man in the swamp monster costume in the episode 'The Spanish Moss Murders'.
And I do believe this guy playing the photographer in this clip from 'The Trevvi Collection' might be none other than Paul Benedict, who plays lMr. Bentley on The Jeffersons. It looks like him, anyway.
One of the coolest shows ever! I didn't see every episode when they first aired but saw most of them later! Gotta get that DVD. McGavin was the best!!!!
One of the few times where the year an episode was originally seen actually dated itself within the episode- "The Trevi Collection for 1975". I still remember the gruesome ending of this one.
I remember this show scaring the crap out of me every week. Anybody remember the "Zombie" or "Chopper" episodes? Good stuff, nothing this good on TV now!
Thanks for the upload - I loved this show when it was on in the 70's - We have just started getting the sci fi channel in Sydney - I hadn't thought of looking on it for the Night Stalker - thanks.
ive been dying to see the full episode of this one. Please, it you are able to upload the Trevi Collection full episode please do so. I really want to see this one
This show was AWESOME - The actor - Darren McGavin, was TOTALLY awesome. He died a few months ago, and his wife said he was actually like his character, in real life. In this day and age of reality tv, what are the odds we'll see a show like this again? (Anyone seen the new NightStalker - sucked! Lasted less than one season).
Makes me feel better to know someone else developed a freakish fear of mannequins thanks to this show. That and the movie Magic pretty much scared the hell out of me for years. Thanks for uploading this!
i'm so glad you uploaded this. after many many years, i finally determined that this episode instilled within me, a deep seated fear of mannequins and wigheads (which I overcame in college.) i SO will be buying this on dvd. thank you

Glad to see I wasn't the only one who had this reaction --
This absolutely terrified me as a child. I still remember the mannequin scene at the end. It really creeped me out. Still scaring me now.
