  • @labedra thank you, ive been trying to explain the same thing about awd cars and drifting

  • sounds like crap but to be expected from the world's most imbalanced engine.

  • its hungry quick feed it a evo

  • its not the tires screaming......

  • WHAT A MEAN MACHINE...being the proud owner of a scooby i just love watching this vid

  • I was so scared that the Sti was going to drift INTO a wall because I misinterpreted the title!

  • i have the same seibon hood

  • is that a 4wd car?

  • @dirtrider2199 front drive shaft taken out made into rwd

  • Check out my subaru videos. I'm a rookie lol

  • I agree, needs more angle. Did I see a straight pipe?

  • needs more angle

  • @ryswe Has no need to change to RWD, most new STI's have a control in the car, to make more drive to the back or front

  • On 0:46 the guy says , NOT BAD ! I think he is too shy to say WOW ! IT WAS PERFECT ! Or maybe he can drive better ... I bet he hardly can turn.

  • Comment removed

  • my ass can do better

  • @rockertitley please do!

  • Nice the sticker S3

  • got that paint on forza

  • thats a cool looking STI

  • cool

  • An AWD is not a 4WD(4x4)!!!

  • @snowiess.. We all know the STi has DCCD(driver controlled center differential) but drifters convert them to RWD! Same with EVOs

  • clearly not AWD

  • music to my ears

  • Chuck Norris can drift a pedal powered truck an hit speeds of +200Km/s

  • nice video... i love subaru impreza wrx sti

  • in norway its a r34 skyline for 7000$

  • thats cheap as fuck,

  • @theniceman2 what does that have to with the video?

  • GO SUBIES!!!!!!!

  • Subaru rules my friend! :-)

  • if this guy was a good driver like kennny b he would drift it AWD

  • what do they do to turn em from awd to rear wheel drive?

  • To convert it to RWD the front drive shafts are removed and the centre diff is locked. To do this you can make a fancy insert for the diff or just weld it up. Using the driver controlled centre diff in a WRX won't make it RWD either, there is always some drive going to the fronts.

  • @Mungalicious3 ya i figured that out on my own, i kno you gata take the fronts out, but what do you have to buy, and welding it together is the stupidest thing. (not saying your stupid). because when the tires turn the outer tire wants to rotate faster and so the cars gata hop.

  • There is still a rear differential which will continue to operate normally. You weld up the centre diff only, the one that distributes power front and rear. If you don't then the front output shafts will spin at a million miles an hour and you'll go nowhere. Hope that makes sense.

  • you get 80% power to the rear and 20 to the front in a scubby with it set to the rear and you can drift with 4x4 you should see my F150 in the snow hahahaha

  • @S2000RENEGADE51 i can drift my bicycle in the snow...

  • because 4wd cant hold a sustained drift

  • @poop4256 Ken Block can drift a 4 wheel drive :)

  • @labedra any STi with enough WHP can be drifted in AWD :) just depends on how your suspension is set up. having a purpose built rally car helps too lol

  • @labedra Respect to Kenn Block

  • @labedra this suburu is also 4wd.

  • @AJsfree2toke r u retarded?

  • @AJsfree2toke you = disgrace

  • @labedra that's not drifing...it's called gymkhana. He couldnt hold a tight chain drift around this course because of the AWD. Watch his videos more closely and notice they are limited slides. However, noone can touch him in gymkhana

  • @labedra Chuck Norris can drift Ken Block! ;D

  • @labedra any fool with half a brain and two hands can power slide a silly 4 or awd...

  • Comment removed

  • @labedra no , he can powerslide a 4wd, the front wheels pull the car so its not considered drift. why cant people learn the difference

  • @poop4256, then wtf does ken block do then? or any rally car driver that has a Awd for that matter then lmao

  • @poop4256 it depends on how much is the traction ratio...generally the 4WD cars are not 50/50...u'll find 60/40 or 70/30 most of times...the bigger number is from the rear off course...but u can hold a sustained drift with a 4WD , cannot compare with RWD though...

  • @kamilpolniak nope, the subarus are powerfull enough to pull these kinds of drifts even with all wheel, its amazing, the all wheel actually helps come outa the drifts cuz it keeps the car from loosing control, it sticks to the ground and bites better. subarus are number 1

  • probably got his centre differential set all the way back so its effectively all whl drive

  • it is a wrx sti sti only tuning arm of subaru and i wouldnt say that rwd myself just some 4 wd powersliding and they not one of the best drifting cars muppets

  • @redlad81 It probably has been RWD converted. I don't think 4WD drifters are allowed.

  • You're wrong. It's RWD converted.

  • 1 of the greatest drifting machines out there

  • same thing just with more stuff this is a Crawford Performance Subaru with there block in it just like ken block's just rwd only if you see them make his they use a whole new block for the Subaru which is sick as hell and Tanner Foust help set this car up as well

  • and the drive is Stephan Verdier with Cooper Tires and Crawford Performance wich is big for maxing out Subaru's and he is good friends with Tanner Foust and Rhys Millen not all that he had a few pole's in 2009 FD one 1st and a 2nd place. not bad for some one that gos to the track only need a crew bad

  • that thing is a fuking monster

  • that's not a WRX STI..

  • why isnt it an sti?

and even if its not it will go so much harder then what an sti would

  • yes it is whats that on your opinion? ford mustang or what?

  • woot? o,O

  • u said it's not a sti but it is why do you think it isn't

  • I said it's not a [WRX] STI. it's a STI

  • then i come out and kick his ass in my '91 volvo940turbo

  • i like potatoes

  • The front of it looks like the new version

but the back looks like the old

  • The back isn't an "Old version."

It's just a '06-07 with '04-05 tail lights... common swap out...

  • it's either an 06 or 07 sti

  • cool drifting nice to see a rwd conversion

  • modified the steering rack and knuckles yet? its just nice to see 4wds converted to only rwd and gettin lotsa angle. not so much angle on this one though.

  • my big brother has that car i wanna learn more about cars and stuff but i dont know where to look or anything could you help?

  • The internet would be a good start.

  • hah try forums there a good place. google wrx forum :)

  • como mierda le ponen FR a ese impreza !!! ¿ñ

  • It is true that with certai STi's such as type R coupes and STi RA's and some spec C's that you can se the DCCD to adjust distribution between front and rear. THIS however is not the case for this car, clearly this has the front locked out completely for rear wheel drive. I put mine all the way to the rear and it lights up for sure but it eventually grabs and pulls. this is rear wheel drive.

  • thats not an sti ra. its a normal sti but it was converted to rwd

  • well this is goin into the favourites

  • that dudes pretty good, :P

  • The sound of an STI is the most beautiful thing. sooo sexy

  • @biscuit12537 I couldn't agree more! STi's sound so fuckin' sexy! I have a 2005 STi and it is awesome!

  • how long can those tires last with constant drift?

  • theyre tires designed to drift and endure the continuous wear and tear so they last longer

  • not that long:p constant drift.. maybe 10-15 min of non stop driftin be4 they get pretty bald

  • 1 man racing team right there

  • lmao "not bad"

  • its not just a wrx STi only the Wrx STi Ra you can split diff like 80% at the back and 20% at the front you cant full on 100% at the back tho, But still phat

  • looks like a RWD not 4WD/AWD

  • IN the STI's you can switch from rear to all

  • w/e his car is nicer and hes probably a better driver than you kids ^_^

  • im lookin for one of these to buy for a good price any sellers!?!?! haha

  • whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat tha fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckkkkkkkk that's sick man, a two door sti, kinda ugly but still good body work

  • where do you see a 2 door Impreza?

  • Sorry its actually not an STI just a WRX

  • He debadged the Sti logo.

But it was a clean ass run

  • Yeah i can se it know it just looked like the Mature Workshop GC STI. Very similar Graphics, and it has the GD Front end

  • Thats sick a two door Subaru STI, that drifts

  • thats not a two door its got four doors just looks short

  • it has four doors....

  • man that car is crazy y would it be in a track? the police wouldn't be a threat.

  • u dnt wana be anywhere near me

  • ken block are best

  • its set up for pro comp drfting its RWD their is no torque split in it at all

  • its an easy thing to do. all they did was take out the front axles and pluged it. u can buy the tranny plugs cheap go look it up.

  • last i heard about the distribution was 80r/20f....

  • great car, great drifting, but idk why ud want to convert it away from AWD its like slapping god in the face lol

  • well idk if he converted it or not but since 02 the STi has a button next to the shifter that u can flip up to make it FWD or you can center it for AWD and also you can flip it down to make it RWD thats probly what he did... or maybe he converted it... idk

  • the button you're talking about is a torque distribution wheel. It can only shift from 50/50 to 65rear/35front, so you can hardly call it a RWD. And it def not there to make it a FWD car.

I think, that first year or two the torque distribution range was wider - maybe 25front/75rear, not sure, but later Subaru narrowed it to 35f/65r.

The car in the video def not an AWD car OR it has HUGE amount of torque and somewhat modified torque distribution range.

  • @stormtrooper2491 awd drifting is for noobs =p if u want respect from the pros u gotta do what a awd cant in a rwd car

  • @stormtrooper2491

its still an AWD Buddy... They change the gearing in the transmission so it "might" be pulling 20 front 80 rear.....

  • @stormtrooper2491 it's because the motor has potential and those bastards over at D1 have this idea that ONLY RWD cars should be allowed to drift...hence why I don't watch US based Drift events.

  • @akotr3mor also tht its a little more challenging to drift with awd cuz of the exrta grip but u made a great point

  • @akotr3mor us based drifting sucks shit good choice not watching it

  • @stormtrooper2491 Because anything more than 10/90 would obliterate a transfer case before you finish the first lap.

  • @stormtrooper2491 it looks like its still awd, awd is still a perfectly fine platform for drifting

  • SUCH A BOMB ASS CAR.

  • this car can drift liik nobodys business

  • weird i didnt see any smoke from front. im reading the comments here. IS this a RWD car or what am i missing?

  • I'm guessing it's a RWD conversion.

  • that is what i was thinking as well, bad ass to the Nth degree

  • possibly because there is an 2004 rwd subaru in formula d

  • ill be the first to say " ill be damned i was NOT aware of those. i wish they could be had for street use

  • anti lag system?

  • subie power. HELL YEAH!

  • The main company that makes the solid center diffs is Watanabe Service in Japan. They make the part for Subarus and Mistubishis. Its the part i bought to make my impreza RWD. I love the ignorance of Hilltop530... good for a laugh :D

  • You CAN, however buy a part to eliminate the center diff from a company in Australia, and I do beleive Zero-sports makes one, also JUN has one. Around $700-1200USD

  • You're all wrong... the DCCD adjusts the amount of lockup the center differential's clutchs have. it's ALWAYS a 35/65 in the 04's and a 43/67 ( I think) for the 05's up.

Get on NASIOC and do a search.

  • sorry, 43/57, bad typing.

  • NASIOC +1 subies FTW

  • Woo.. burning rubber! xD

I love the soft clapping & the small cheers.. lol

  • seriously tho if you really know about drifting most Subarus you would know that the counter-steer is completely different specialy for the distance he is drifting. Thanks for trying

  • minus that car is no longer awd

  • A simple controller is all that is.

Probably still an AWD but, adjusted more toward the rear for drift.

  • no, its RWD. Think before you type like you know what you're talking about.

This is definitely not just a DCCD controller. It is fully RWD. I talked to the team when they were at Seattle for D1. They were chill guys

  • Question for chongracing.

    Are you omnipotent?

... no i didn't think so either so how about before you type like YOU think that you know everything... stop .... just stop and take a long hard look at yourself.

someone get a reward for the smarty pants before he feels inadequate and strikes again.

  • the rsr s2000 that went on that day had a damn good first run. i'm pissed that rhys broke his axle and had to forfeit in the second round.

  • What year is that?

  • thats a 2007

  • thx you

  • So...this just topped any pron i can find on the internet.

  • rex equals sex

  • its not awd anymore its converted to rwd

  • naw its awd... u can tell by the picth angle.. My suby slideslike such

  • too bad AWD is illegal in Formula D dude.. rwd

  • Thank you.

  • also i dont think u can drift an entire bank like that with an awd car...just a thought

  • and another thought is the whole.. changing just the back tires??? come on.. AWD my ass!

  • Dude, count the tires on the ground, i would say that is a bit to much just to change the rear tires

  • yea.. your right.. but its obvious its rearwheel drive bro.. im sorry.. maybe a set of coupld of sets of tires for the rear.. .cause if you didn't notice those were the only ones burning off =)

  • It's just a drive train controller.

You can use to adjust where the power of an AWD car goes. This one is set to the rear wheels for drift.

It is in fact an AWD car but, with this tune it runs as a 2WD.

So, I guess both sides are right in a sense.

  • lol you took the time to be wrong on two different comments. It is NOT a DCCD.

  • maybe so, BUT no tiresmoke whatsoever from the front tires though

  • its a 4 wheel drive car lmao

  • I think it did beter then the skYLINE HEHE

  • The skyline is really hard to drift in, so no.

  • On your Xbox maybe. 4WD's are pretty easy to drift so a GTR shouldn't be so hard if you know how.

  • just listen to that beast holy shit that is SEX

  • Dude, I love this car... I love all fast cars.

But, this is a bred awd car and was really designed for rally and track racing

  • i love them so much i just want to have every single one made!!!

  • sexy wrxy.

    lol

  • nothing! just cut font wheels` axle :)

  • wonder how much it costed him to convert her the rwd

  • Its not a WRX... Its a WR SEX

  • What a sick monster :D would have been fun to watch 1:1 I bet.

  • way sick!! it was definently modded to rwd though

  • So Sick, So illa illa. Subaru all day...

  • woooot woooot imprezas are lush n this 1 jst prooves it

  • i was there; it was great

  • go Crawford Performance!

  • illl san!

  • awd will pull the car back to straight after it gets a good amount of disance. i was there that day at formula d in wall. seen it all that car is rwd. overall he put on a good qualifying run but didnt make it to compete

  • wow nice l wonder if it was awd or conversion to rear wheel.

  • ummmm...isn't it fricken obvious? There isn't any smoke coming out of the front wheels, and they couldn't drift on dry tarmac that well with AWD. It's a RWD conversion......................duh.

  • why do you have to be a dick about it and awd can drift just as good as rwd

  • I'm not being a dick about it. just pointing out the obvious. And NO, an AWD car can never drift exactly the same, with the same degree and length, with the same techniques as a RWD car, I have an AWD car and I admit it.

  • u r correct
