@chrisnspokane i used to work for swift, one of the largest hog slaughter houses in america. you have no fucking idea how slaughter houses operate here. hogs are cattle prod and kicked into pens where it's cramped. we then put them on conveyor belts with fences on each side to prevent escape. my coworker would then use a taser and i would slit their throat while they bleed out to death. if americans like you would know the process where bacon and ham comes from they wouldn't be quick to judge

This video and its comments make a good point about evolution. Being cute is a survival method when their are intelligent beings around who value cuteness. Cats are no more special than a chicken. They can be raised, killed, skinned, and eaten just the same. The sentimental attachment towards cats is actually quite bizarre. People have become too detached from their food. They seem to have forgotten where it comes from and have a strange narrative attached to the process.
