I see people are comparing Beyonce and Monica. Let's begin with Beyonce...she is a performer, but she does not have any emotions or soulfulness when she sings...there is no depth to her vocals. Now Monica...she is a singer period. She sings with so much passion and when she sings a song especially a ballad/love song you can feel the emotions she is feeling. Everyone knows Beyonce can't sing anywhere near close to Monica. Monica is in the realm of Jill Scott, Marsha Ambrosius, Amel Lerriuex, Keys, India Arie. Badu Level. Beyonce is Dionne Warwick, Keri Hilson or Ashanti's level vocally. A bit better than Jennifer Lopez. But not at that Faith Evans/Jennifer Hudson/Patti Labelle type. Her acapella isn't that good. Monica can cover a young Whitney Houston or Anita Baker song easily.

there is NO comparison to Monica & Beyonce. Mo has been a solo singer since she started singing at 12. her voice is soulful, has great range and tone, and can sing anything! Bey was in a group for years before she went solo. she has a great voice, can sing anything aswell but does not hav the quality & precision that Mo has. But she makes up for that with her boody shaking!! they are two very different performers. AND in no way did Monica still a damn chord. HELLO Aretha, Gladys, Whitney, Patti!

Now Monica...she is a singer period. She sings with so much passion and when she sings a song especially a ballad/love song you can feel the emotions she is feeling. I see she "borrowed" a vocal harmony line from Destiny's Childs' performance of the Star Spangled Banner though. If you listen to the background vocal harmony at the end of this video on "YOUR MY EVERYTHING" and then listen to the vocal harmony on Destiny's Childs' Star Spangled Banner at the end of their performance on their phrase where they say "BRAVE", they are almost IDENTICAL...just different lyrics.
