ummmmmm.......... yeah, there are not that many videos proving whitneys supposedly whistle register......but she had hit 6 octave head notes which are actually harder to hit. So by default, if she can hit a E6 in head , then why not a whistle note. And when ppl say "whitney had a whistle register" they are by no means saying she had the abilities that of mariah........who soared and controlled that register amazingly. We are merely saying she could go into that register.

That was so funny how she went up a whole octave higher than her background singer hoarse and not trying. Imagine how high she can go in crystal clear voice. In Control 1987 NYC I am not lying when I said she chirp out a D7/Eb7 in whistle after laughing at the end of the song like this clip.

That wasn't even a C. I heard two notes, one from her and the other from her background singer. I assume you're talking about that cracked squeaky noise that was her "C7" but that was an E, if you wanna call that a note. Her background singer sang a falsetto B5.

Yes, Whitney indeed had a whistle register and on rare occassion she uses. A lot of Black singers do that! Karen Clark Sheard has one she rarely shows off. That was a note in whistle register, C7!!!!!!!!!

I totally disagree Whitney has always had whistle register. She used in 1987 NYC, and I can name at least 7 performances live she hits notes in it. She prefers operatic head voice, but don't get twisted anything MC can do Whitney could in prime added to her big head voice.

Because it is more natural for her to sing in chest and head voice does not mean she does not have a whistle register. Thats like saying she does not have mix voice. Primarily she sings, in chest, head, and superhead, and rarely uses mix voice, or whistle, but she does possess those registers. Everyone has a whistle register to extent, its where they know how to use it or access it.

Whitney from 1983-1992 was a full soprano with very very very heavy coloratura abilities listen to this woman sing coloratura runs in her live SAMFLY in her concerts. I have never heard MC play with her head voice or do bird like notes like Nippy did in this era. Hitting a dog whistle does not count, but stay up there and play with runs in registers. Whitney could with ease, the only singer I heard with this ability is Minnie. Listen to SAMFLY Tokyo 1988 to see what I mean!!!!!!
