I saw a blue and gold macaw today at a place where they sell birds and he was sat outside on a perch and he was buzzing like a bumble bee hehe awwhh...I bet he wanted company though he was sat all alone :(
Very funny.. I´m done.. Reminds me of Alex the grey african with the lady researcher.. in the middle of an exercise he says "Can I go back?" and when she refuses he immediatelly says "can i have some water?" :)
I was in the hospital a couple of months ago and he was quite a challenge to the lady who took care of him. He didn't know her name so just called her, "Come here." After me, one of the dogs, & a female macaw she became the 4th one who to hear, "I love you!"
Dealing with birds like Alex (and even Captain) is like talking to a friend. They aren't performers they are more like friends. The stuff they come up with is amazing. I was crying while taking care of a close friends funeral and he said, "You know, I loved her too." They think like people.
He has trememdous problem solving skills and can do any thing - wanting to is the problem. He goes into an office or bank & tosses things off desks and counters. Love to toss things away.

WOW!! You have a smart bird there!!

He's very smart. Has a mind of his own. He's not a performer - just does what he wants to do but can be a real show off when he has an audience.

How long have you had him? They look a bit scary and tough but watching clips here I found they are as cute as anything..
Wish I could have one.. But no oom, no time..
