Listening to Vern Gosdin brings tears to my eyes and a joy to my heart. Saw him in Houston many years ago. A wonderful talent and a legend in country music.
I was always hooked on country from the start and sit and watched my Uncle sing this mans song along with Randy Travis George Jones Conway an all the rest every night and he would always ask us kids to sing along i remember sitting on his porch the night my grandma pasted and he sung Jesus hold my hand about 200 times andtil this day he still does i cherish that man for making me a country music lover and let me hear Vern cause i don't think id ever love any ones music as much as i do this mans.
ATTENTION VG FANS: there are so many excellent live recordings of the late Vern Gosdin that were filmed for various television programs. We need to find and encourage a record label to release these historic recordings. These would make perfect live albums. It's unfair that Michael Jackson has dozens of official and unofficial live recordings, yet Vern is overlooked because his music is country.
I'm a huge fan of classic and outlaw country and I plan to cover it ASAP. I loved hearing this mans voice growing up. It would be such an honor to pay homage to this great country artist.
this song has much meanning to me it how I felt when i lost my wife to a devorce. Its taken me a lob=ng time to recover from it and i now have found memories of our marriage there were some bad but the good out way the bad she was a great girl and i messed up and I would kill for one more chance even after 5 years we are still friends and we talk weekly but its seams to be easyier that way...
Rest In Peace Vern. I can see why the tagged the name "The Voice" on you. So many great songs that no one else could do like you do. God brought a great one home.
This is pure heaven...wut a voice...makes me wonder along with George Jones "whos gonna wear their shoes" today you gotta be hot n near perfect lookin to sing country music...wut about the greats such as Vern Gosdin, Mearl Haggard, George Jones, Ronnie Milsap? The arent the greatest looking or flashy, but they have heart and sing like Southern Angels....its sad...George Strait aint gonna be around forever...
I love the heart and soul of this man, and the song is so clear to the heart of a loved one. I do not believe anyone could not listen to his music and not be real.
I've just sung Verns's "That Just About Does It - Don't It" on jtyler5. On July 6th, this song - "Do You Believe Me Now" is going up on my channel. I have already sung it, but am giving a two day window for the other. I love Vern's voice (also has my departed brother's name) because he represented true, traditional country music...so I attempt to do right by his memory.
Vern, Your music will be played long after I'm on the other side of the dirt. I know that GOD will love The Voice. Rest in peace Vern. You will never be forgotton. R.P.P.
VERN Gives me goosbump's still to this day my dad and vern were good friend's and everytime he came to chicago he would stop by and have some coffee with dad and keep his bus running out front and he would take dad with him and dad would and vern would hang out,my dad was a great singer/songwriter and vern would alway's call dad up at his show's cause my dad would sing deck of card's and golden guitar...dad died in 2004 and we lost vern in 2009...now life sucks.
Vern has always been one of my favorites and this song in particular is one of my favorites. Vern was certainly one of countries greatest legends in country music. He brought it all.
I once heard that Vern Gosdin was the man who was never seen in Jim Varney's early commercials on TV when he would say, "You know what I mean Vern?". I don't know if it is true at all, but it does seem like something that would happen.
The younger generations are sick of the modern country garbage, which only represents a small market. There will never be another like Mr. Gosdin. He sings with his heart and soul. It saddens me so much that he is gone. His music has touched my heart in a way that no other could. Now he sings for the Angels.....God rest his soul....
@nana99324 aye he sings in GODS band now. we will have him here on earth with youtube and his recordings . and knowing one day will get to meet him again soon
I am saddened and feel so out of touch to be hearing this song for the 1st time. A loved one sent it to me because of my feelings of mistrust. He needs me to let him back in my heart and I was so sure that i could not even think about it, This touching song has brought me to tears and has helped me realize I still love him so much.
@1adanivia I wish my x wife would have thought of that vary same thing you said and maybe we would have started over and got past the stupid reason why we devorced or i mean why she devorced me because i did not want too.shes still a good woman and who ever ends up with her will be a lucky man and she is sorly missed I will never forget her.....
it takes a singer to sing a song but it takes a artist to convince you the words to a song and make you feel it as it is you in the song thas a atrue singer as he was and always will be

Vern Gosdisn Is one of the best country singers ever, todays artist just dont seem to have the soul or heart this man had for country music, we need more of his kind of country.
I just so like this song and most definetely the marvelous singer I have most of Verns songs but still looking to listen to more, keep up the great work from me way over here in New Zealand
Now this is REAL country music so sorry we lost a legend that could have carried it on! R I P Vern, Your music will never be forgotten! Thanks for the memories!!
i know his cousin tony gosdin and its amazing how much they looked alike but even more tony sings just like vern..they are first cousins..tony would never sing in public but he should have and carried on the gosdin music..this is true music..from the heart..
Theres always atleast one Vern song that fits your heart like a glove!

He didn't earn the name "The Voice" for nothing. This man had more pure country soul in his thumb than most had in their entire lives or careers.
