  • Every time this show started, I shed a single tear because I missed Where in the World.

But this is still better than 99% of all shows intended for kids that are on TV today.

  • Who is the chief in the beginning?

  • @MrKilroy138 Lynne Thigpen, she did the voice of Luna in Bear Big Blue House as well, she passed away in 2003 leading to its cancelation.

  • I used to watch this all the time when I came home from school, back when I was in 5th grade.

  • Yeah that's my JAM!!!

  • 26 agents are mad they could never catch Carmen

  • Bopperrrrrrrrssss

  • Boot up the Chrono Computer! Power up the Engines! Extend the Temporal Sequencer!

Gotta love all the technobabble on this show.

  • Yes (pumps fist). 'Fact Fuel' - the best type of fuel.

  • I was only three when this came out, but I vividly remember the theme song.

  • Ah. Thanks for clarifying that.

  • Doc Brown helped invent the Chronoskimmer

  • @Yugioh257 Wasn't it Ivan Idea?

  • @freebirthscum Ivan was an intern in Doc's lab with Marty.

  • this is something i never watched and never will

  • i remember playing this gameee, sickest sht ever lol

  • ...So if they have a time machine, why don't they just go back to when Carmen was born and teach her stealing is wrong?

  • @blade10000 I don't know how much good it would have done, because according to the games, she was originally one of ACME's best detectives. That is until crime solving became too easy for her.

  • @blade10000 Because Carmen Sandiego is not her real name of course! It's her Alias...

  • Do you think Ally Smith was the winner of Where in Time is Carmen San Diego?

  • When was this recorded in 1996?

  • @NicKinsman I totally know what you mean! Been stuck in my head since 1997

  • I used to see that black lady in my nightmares allllllllll the time when I was little

  • The point of this show...even if it was not really important history was to teach kids history

  • Ow I feel so old right now

  • oprah?

  • I loved anything Carmen Sandiego as a kid

  • things wouldn't blow up if you dint dance near the time machine!

  • I've always thought of this as "When in the World is Carmen Sandiego?"

  • omg me and my sibs loved this show so much that we made on in our living room lool. we made up these questions. i miss the 90s.

  • R.I.P. the Cheif

  • crew, are ya ready then funnyness

  • The other "2 minutes" would be commercials, presumably.

  • @bub777 i remember when i was 3 back in 1996 i love this show

  • @bub777 Not really commercials so much as PBS adverts - PBS is a public broadcasting company and has no traditional commercials like most other channels.

  • This show was really only missing one thing...DO IT ROCKAPELLA!

  • 100 Powerpoints, yeesh..... Wouldn't want to sit through THAT meeting...

  • RIP Lynne Thigpen (1948-2003)

  • Lynne Thigpen looks like oprah.

  • This video is most popular with

    Male 18-24

    Male 25-34

    Female 18-24

  • @RetroVideoFan the age group strolling down memory lane, i miss the 90s lol

  • Comment removed

  • It's an ok intro, but I still prefer Rockapella.

  • i loved this

  • 22 people accidentally clicked dislike because Carmen Sandiego stole the like button.

  • This game show is one I DEFINITELY remember seeing in the late 90's.

  • Are the crew hugging themselves?

  • Was one of those contestants DALLAS GREEN?!?! (of City and Colour)

  • You know watching this, I am really starting to regret not watching this show enough while it was still on. But of course, I was not even 6 years old when the show was taken off the schedule, so I probably wouldn't really have much memory of this show anyway. Unfortunately, I only remember seeing the tail end of one episode, and I don't even remember what episode it was.

  • 1:33 what were they doing? LOL

  • @pinkbutterfly261 Having a crazy fit!

  • still has nothing on where in the world is carmen sandiego theme

  • I thought the Squadron Leader Kevin was incredibly sexy. I loved this one and the original Where in the World in Carmen Sandiego

  • I've had this stuck in my head since 1995

  • @NicKinsman THIS SHOW STARTED 15 YEARS AGO, WHICH MEANS IN 1996!

  • @veganisextremelygood but i went back in time... so.......

  • took me 15 years BUT I FINALLY LEARNED THE LYRICS!

  • The only educational show that kids this age cared about

  • An appropriate title for this game show should have been "Where in Time Did Carmen Sandiego Run Off with the Budget?".

  • i have over 100 original sketchings and some hand painted backgrounds from the cartoon carmen sandiego, all for sale and going cheap ! if intersted let me know

  • Its the lady from Lean on Me = )

  • R.I.P Lynn Thigpin.

  • Wow i feel like i'm between the age of 9-11 years old again I miss these shows.

  • That girl singer is pretty hot

  • 22 poor saps either didn't have a childhood or they were brainwashed by today's modern garbage.

  • @RetroVideoFan

More intertaning then veggie tales or bible man, I actualy learned somthing from watching these shows, bill nye the science guy!!

  • really bad

  • This sucked. Where In The WORLD Is Carmen Sandiego was way better.

  • @msbunnypaws I remember watching the original series every now and again, then I stopped watching, and when I came back the retarded dancer 'engine crew' was running the show. Still a good show either way.

  • press 8 for retard dance

  • being a kid for me watching shows like this were fun....now everythings changed

    llong live the memories :-)

  • Classic

  • I watched this at a very young age, and it came off rotation when I was of age to remember anything, but I'll always remember the theme song...I grew up on Cyberchase, Arthur, and the newer PBS shows of the early 2000s. And Pokemon, clearly.

  • This was my favorite show on PBS when I was a kid. I wanted to be on it so bad lol.

My sister and I used to set up stations in the living room that we'd have to go through and answer trivia questions, like the winning kid who runs through the course at the end of the game. Good times :)

  • @paigeyf0502 Oh I Wanted To Be On Where In Time Is Carmen Sandiego TOO

  • I hate it when I'm trying to talk to people about this show and they're always like "you mean Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?" in a condescending tone. lol

  • I thought the tune of this show was so cool!

  • Oh gods...

I remember the words to this theme song EXACTLY, and I haven't heard it in almost a decade.

  • 01:33 crew are you ready? and it looks like i need to change your coffee to decafinated.

  • @MrXclio

They ate a bowl of suuugaaaarrrrr~

  • I borrowed 3 of Carmen's villians and remodled them for my Teen Titan fanfic

  • @DakariKingMykan Fanfictionists Unite!!!

  • blah blah blah were is carmen sandiego owns where in time is carmen sandiego anyday chumps...

  • Time PALES in comparison to World.

  • @greenday61892 Maybe so, but it still wasn't half bad, in my opinion. The theme song is especially epic.

  • @RetroVideoFan I'm not quite sure I agree with you, but it is your opinion. I mean, to me, don't change what isn't broken, you know?

  • @greenday61892 Yeah, I know that. But compared to some of today's children's programming, this is still a guilty pleasure.

  • Since I was a kid, I remember the theme song for this show. Holy @#$!, memories just came flooding back.

  • So nostalgic....

  • Sorry it sounded like it.

  • kids these days don't have shows like this anymore, too sad really.

  • What's amazing is that the host Kevin Shinick is now one of the writers for Robot Chicken. Think he won some major, MAJOR awards as well!

  • is she saying kevin shit it?

  • @RukiaWrath13 No. She's saying "Shinick", NOT shit it.

  • shes was the voice of the moon on bear in the big blue house!

  • ZOOM was the best...

  • CPU game is way better, it requires knowing history, I'm Canadian and I went through the American revelution level in about 5 minutes

  • oh my god my fav show when i was little :D

  • lol I haven't seen this show in a decade and as the song was going I magically remembered the words and was able to sing along

  • \>.</ I remember watching this with my dad. I think I still have the game for PC...somewhere... xD

  • me and my bro and sis used to watch this show just for the gauntlet event at the end of the show

  • Holy crud, I remember this...

  • where in time is carmen sandeigo????????

  • i miss this game show

  • Oh, man, I remember burning all my afternoons after school on PBS instead of homework:

    3:30 - Magic School Bus

    4:00 - Kratt's Kreatures

    4:30 - Wishbone

5:00 - Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego?

5:30 - Bill Nye the Science Guy

Good times. Good times. So worth getting yelled at by Dad for not doing my homework first.

  • @megarockman Bill Nye FTW!!!!!!

  • @megarockman Don't forget about Arthur. :)

  • @LaurenAnyone I didn't get home in time to see Arthur, unfortunately.

  • @megarockman If you're anything like me, you learned more from watching TV than doing your homework anyway.

  • @ClevelandRock I sure did.

  • @megarockman and to end it all zoom. well i did anyway. i wish i had one week to go back and visit all of the 90s. this show rocks and so did all the other 90 shows.

  • @megarockman LOL Nice. That was the schedule I remember too. I guess it was the same nationwide.

  • @megarockman AHHHH!!! Kratt's Kreatures!!!

  • @megarockman Me too! I loved all those shows!

  • @megarockman What about Aladin?

  • @GorterPoss What about Aladdin? That wasn't on PBS.

  • @megarockman I remember doing the exact same thing as you. The only difference is that my dad usually got home from work after the shows were over, usually around 6 p.m. Good times.

  • @megarockman That was the best lineup I watched that shit while doing homework..on the east coast near DC the lineup started @ 7pm and went off around 9 same shows u listed tho

  • @MusicGod2008 Odd...I live on the East Coast as well.

  • @megarockman I stay in Virginia...........but depending what year the schedule may be different!!!

  • @megarockman dude ur like reading my mind lol i loved those shows. man how i miss kratt kreatures the most

  • @megarockman My dream lineup from back in the day. Amazing show, and even my parents would LET me take breaks on my homework just to watch it. Haha. They should bring this stuff back just for a month, and watch the ratings soar.

  • @megarockman OH MY GOD YOU ARENT KIDDING...

  • @megarockman bringin back flashback memories like crazy HEHEH!!

  • @megarockman I remember this as well. but where was Zoom?

  • I remnber this and Where In the World running on PBS.

  • So many memories...

  • Stop the crime, and solve this mystery~

That theme song is among several that have stuck with me through my childhood.

Call me crazy, but I think the 90s might have been the best time to grow up in, in terms of what was on TV.

  • I wish shows this badass still existed

  • If this got anymore camp, I would need a tent.

  • I love how they have just 28 minutes to get it back XD

  • By the way, the budget for the first season of the show was about $46,000 per episode.

  • @RetroVideoFan

How do you know that, if I may ask?

  • @animegal2686 I read about it in one of the articles on Google's News Archive. It might help if you search "Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego budget", cause I forgot which one I got it from.

  • If anybody knows where I can download this entire series or buy the show, if possible, PLEASE PM me!

  • I remember not liking this show at the time because I was a big fan of "Where In The World" and this version I couldn't get into it.

  • @KatrahQuey87 Agreed. I think part of it may have been Rockapella. But I think the majority of it was PBS trying to make a follow-up series and failing. Either way, the good old days are in the past. R.I.P. 90's.

  • I wanted to be on that show, but my confounded mother.

  • 0:03 Wasn't she in Godspell?

  • Why is a kid inside the engine?

  • 1:32. Kevin: Crew, are you ready?

1:33 to 1:38. The Engine Crew does one of their dances. (That looks like a yes)

  • another great show

  • RIP Lynne Thigpen (aka The Chief)

    1948-2003

  • This takes me back to the good ole 90s.

  • I could have sworn those kids looked at least 10 years older last time I watched this show....

  • I really wish there were more episodes of this on YouTube.

  • oo man, does anyone remember that game show that had kids going through obstacle courses that they had to retrieve skulls and was set in a freaky setting?

  • @jlee7351L I think that show was called legend of the hidden temple.

  • I thought about bill nye and magic school bus..

  • Oh nostalgia...

  • man tv used to be awesome

    wonder what happened >_> (sarcasm)

  • chrono computer? does she mean a clock? XD

  • Does that black woman remind anyone else of Carol Burnette?

  • Lynne Thigpen = legend.

  • OMG I miss that black woman, without her the show Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiago would not have been complete

  • @MalcomAP That black woman had a name. Why does every white person refer to someone of color as ''that black woman, that mexican man, that chinese woman''.

  • @PopCulture20 Because she is black? It's a correct physical description isn't it?

  • @DBCOOPER888 and I guess you're white. am I correct?

  • Comment removed

  • @PopCulture20 Yeah, if you want to identify me as "that white guy", go ahead, but it may be difficult to clarify who you're referring too if I'm standing around a bunch of other white guys. However, I'm just one guy amongst a number of non-whites, feel free to call me "that white guy", it would be an apt description and good way for people to know who you're referring to.

  • Comment removed

  • @PopCulture20 The better question is, what are YOU talking about? You asked why white people refer to someone of color as "that black women, etc", and I explained it. It's simply a good way to identify someone, to let them know who you're referring to.

If you don't want the answer, don't ask the question. And please, stop it with the put downs, it doesn't help your case.

  • fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • who's the redhead?

  • Wow. That was a nostalgia trip.

  • Dr. Belljar was my favorite Carmen Sandiego villain

  • wtf

  • Major Fail Alert! I sang that whole song from beginning to end!!!

  • 18 people can't find Carmen Sandiago.

  • Do it Rockapella

    Wait, what?!?

  • WEEEEEEE'RE ON THE CASE AND WE'RE CHASING HER THROUGH HISTORY.

  • i miss this show.

  • Is that the Radio lady from the movie the ''Warriors'' >?

  • @NewYorkStateOfCrime Lol time for aflaashback, I think she is....I think
