one of my favorite games, but of course my favorite overall I can't even remember its name. It was some kind ff board game with 2 players and each spot is like a different place, the characters were kids that shot guns or lazors, one of those places involved a train... hoping I find the name sometime in my adulthood, I never did finish the game...

In hindsight this game was incredibly anti-west. You have an old style ninja fighting in car industries, highways, high-tech stuff, and these American superheroes like hulk and spider-man. It's like he's fighting the westernization of Japan (remember this was the 80's). Also, look at the nuns becoming enemies...

A great game, great early Genesis classic. What really made this game great was the music. Some of the best video game music ever made. I actually used to put this cartridge in and go to the options menu just to listen to the music. Very few video games have music that is this good.

i remember the cheat! go into options then set your shurikens to 0 and wait for ten seconds and it turns to infinite, made it soo much easier

I thought I'd let everyone know who struggles with keeping their Shruken throwing stars a glitch to get infinite. Go to options change your Shrukens to 00 don't press anything (don't even move off highlighting the amount) then about 10 seconds later it will make a sound (Extra life sound) then exit to start screen and when you play it will show 999 shruken stars and they don't go down.

Alright standard game, I'm a ninja, fighting ninjas and samurai with attack dogs okay. Wait they have demon wings now? Street fighters that can block shurikens with their feet? Soldiers? Nuns that turn into ninjas!?!!? Is that the terminator?

Lol I wish I picked up on how ridiculous the story is when I was kid, it would've have made this game that much more fun to play!

One of the best Genesis launch games.

I clearly abused of the 2 doubles lives trick to max my lives,

the last level maze drove me crazy,

I didn't know at that time that having Spiderman and Batman was a breach of copyrights,

I felt bad when the concrete ceiling crushed the hero's girlfriend but I managed to get the good ending also...

I used the infinite shuriken trick but playing with none is even more fun + plus you get a massive point bonus if you don't use any.

@amazingdany I feel your pain about the maze, dude...and I have the version with Godzilla in the game on my emulator (talk about more breaching of the copyright, if you ask me), and my character don't double-jump pretty well (of course, I was playing the game on my emulator so yeah...that's what I get)

yes there was. you had to go to options, highlight the number displayed next to "Shuriken", and set that to 00, and wait for approximately 10-15 seconds, after which the 00 should have been replaced by an infinity symbol.

The Super Shinobi is the japanese title for the game.

Shinobi III for genesis was also known as The Super Shinobi II.

At least as far as I know.

Nah, MaxxTheSlash, don't you notice something cool when when Shinobi is flip jumping? Whever Shinobi does a flip jump he lands on the other side of the fence, behind it, preventing the enemies on the other side from hitting him. The same goes fpr when he jumps back the other way and there are enemies on the other side. It's really as simple as that :).

I played this game yesterday, and was surpised to see that you can kill the first boss with only three or four hits. So it's possible, and I'm no great player.

I had "pow" too, but just tried to hit the head... and it worked.

i'm sorry i refuse to believe this is a run without using some kind've cheats or god mode. The first boss was nowhere near that easy to kill. I mean hell, i played that game to death, and i'm fairly certain i completed it (can't remember that wel though it was so long ago) and no way was it as easy as this.

No one is saying that this run came easy, wowfood. It's not like I did any of this on my first try.

Perfecting anything takes time, but just about anything is truly possible as long as you dedicate the time.

If you time your attack perfectly, the first boss can be owned just as you saw, trust me!

As for a supposed "God" mode, never heard of one and I wouldn't use it anyway, as I like beating the odds and proving the "impossible" possible. You can do the same if you believe in yourself!
