  • I have just bought one of these last week at dicks with the scope for 307. I put 60 rounds thru it since then and no issues whatsoever I love this gun highly recomend it for anyone looking for a affordable 223

  • @ICoOlBeAnS you need about 300 to 400 dollars for scope ammo and gun

  • i have the exact same setup, even the same bipod, and it shoots damn well

  • what do you need to buy this rifle?

  • what kind of ammo do you recommend? I just bought the same gun but haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. I love the features, better than the Remington that's 100 dollars more imo. Cant wait to hopefully use it on some yotes in the near future.

  • I have the EXACT same rifle, What size scope do you suggest? what size do you have on it?

  • @crustyjack007 Well i guess that depends on what you want to use it for. Currently it has a 3x9x40mm Bushnell which is alright <500 yds.

How do you like yours? Any issues? So far so good for me - love it. My camping / hiking gun

  • @thecosmichippo It looks nice, i haven't got a chance to shoot it yet. dont have a scope on it yet either but i will prob slap a 3x9x40mm for now just to test it out. I herd nothing but good things about them. My only issue is the saftey makes a little rattle noise

  • @crustyjack007 Interesting - i just ran in to check mine - no issue there lol

  • @thecosmichippo its not real bad, but it makes more noise than prob should. I got it from walmart for 265

  • Hello there! I have the axis .223 and I noticed the bolt kinda jiggles around when the chambers open. Is it the same for you? and I notice a lot of threads still left unused in the chamber where the barrel scews in. Is this also the same for you? I just wanna make sure they didnt screw my barrel in unproperly...

  • Hows the accuracy hold up when the barrel gets hot?

  • @flexx1987 Actually i had it out this weekend and put 60 relatively quick rounds through it. Groupings stayed under 2 inches at rapid fire. Love this gun.

  • @thecosmichippo Well that settles it... I better add one to the arsenal next week... Thanks!

  • @flexx1987 yep im thinking the same thing, i have a .243 version enroute as we speak but i was torn on the .223 gotta have one!!!

  • how dose steal cased ammo work in it

  • @poppincaps820 Shoots fine - dirty, but fine

  • @poppincaps820 they mite jam more often to

  • I just took my Savage Axis out today and shot it for the first time, mines a 22-250 though, gonna try for some of them yote dogs haha.

  • just bought the exact rifle in .223 yesterday, stupid california 10 day wait gah!

  • how dose tula or wolf ammo shoot through that

  • Contacted Savage. The Axis does NOT tolerate the 5.56. LOVE THE GUN THOUGH

  • Is the bipod very stable?

I was thinking about getting one but I am not sure if it would be better than my bean bag rest.

  • @Josh2448music The bipod is great - Caldwell 9"

I bumped the butt when it slips in the vid .. and it is literally an inch from the leading edge of the bench rest.

  • Ive seen speculation that this gun is not chambered for 5.56, and yet on the same message boards other users chiming in that it has a wylde chamber and fires both cartridges...what say you since you own one?

  • @thecosmichippo no havent shot it yet im gonna shoot in a couple days.

  • have you tried any 5.56 ammo in it?

  • @monsterman27 Not yet.

  • @monsterman27 Military 5.56 ammo in a 223 rifle can be dangerous since the chamber pressure is a lot higher than a over the counter 223. Now on the other hand shooting 223 rounds in your AR weapon is acceptable. Don't take the risk, if you don't believe me research it

  • @ArMyStRoNg2003 I was trying to find on the Savage web site if it was rated for the 5.56 but it does not state that is it. All my digging shows that if it's not specifically rated for 5.56, you're correct that it's a big risk to try it.

  • hows that bushnell that comes with it? and were you having problems loading the magazine?

    lookin to buy me one

  • @JSwanny1030 The Bushnell scope is alright. From the factory it came mounted a little lopsided so I had to make a few adjustments. The magazine leaves a little to be desired but for the price this gun is awesome. I have had 2 issues loading a round.. this was one of them. So far I have about 300 rounds through. So .006% load error is good in my books.
