im glad to see oters use a spoon. we are rearing african greys and i think using a syringe doesnt help them out at all because they dont taste the food...

Very interesting to see you use the spoon. I've heard of people using spoons to feed baby macaws and other birds, but this is the first time I've seen it done. I use a pipet. Do you find the spoon easier than a syringe? I cna't believe how fast it grew in just under 2 weeks!

hi what are you feeding the chick with the spoon? i found a baby pigeon that mother rejected i have crushed corn very finely with blender and water and feeding with a tiny brush is this right?

i would get a baby bird formula you can get it at your local pet store a all corn diet is not good as baby birds need protean in there diet. I use kaytee exact when i hand feed my babys. and you can feed it with a spoon a eye dropper or what i like best a syringe without the needle

to make sure the temperature is not too hot, if its too hot it will burn just like a real baby with its milk!!!

these chicks got a rocky start...three hatched but the owner didn't know because they hadn't checked the nesting box since the night before, the mom was sick and didn't feed them. The oldest starved, the second oldest they didn't expect to live, and the youngest was fine...been handfed since day two...now, the second oldest is eating well but still only half the size of the youngest. I have pictures if you would like me to email them to you.

he is now 2 1/2 weeks sooo big amazing watching him grow his eyes are now wide open too. baby parrots rock!
