  • does anyone know where to find a version of this song that doesn't skip

  • @bandnerd1548

    hmm..

i would say that you could watch this on netflix and record it

  • check out vakano

  • i had no desire to see this show.. and for some reason i went.. and it was amazing... loved it!

  • This is actually my favorite song in the play. l actually like the play version better since they have the cast singing his part.

l can really relate to him but now l truly understand his mother as well. Obviously being an only child (like me) the mother has a vice grip on him resulting in the child rebelling & breaking free like an escaped prisoner. lt's hard 4 some mothers to let go of their kids. ln those cases, they nee 2 QUICKLY produce a grand kid 4 the mom 2 have 2 replace them!

  • @Sogwa this is my fav song in the play too...but I don't think it is just about the mother's letting go...it is also about the son's inner conflict of wanting to go and yet himself having trouble letting go just like the mother...that is my read on it...I think all those voices toward the end invoke this conflict and confusion for the young man

  • @jschuler53

You have a good point. I notice the video has more glitches in it. I don't remember those glitches there b4.

  • Love this song! Somebody please find a better version

  • god I love this song

    god i love this show

  • ahh, shivers. One of my favorite songs of the whole play.

  • When I first saw Passing Strange I didn't like it all that much but the more I listen to it the more I like it.

  • I LOVE this song... its so jumpy on the screen though... can you post a better version? :)

  • stew is the best songwriter ive ever heard.

  • I saw the show and didn't like it much, but I loved Daniel Breaker, so it was okay. Daniel graduated from my high school, so I was very proud of him.

  • What about it didn't you like?

  • I'm a hardcore classical musical theatre fan, and it just didn't float my boat so to speak. I didn't like the whole "storyline blended into a rock concert" thing.

  • i cant stop watchin this! i like this song a lot. i can really relate to Youth's part. i wish i could go see this on broadway!

  • You know the show closed on Broadway a few weeks ago right?

  • i was able to see the last show

  • @loveya718 It closed like a year ago. Spike Lee filmed the last production of it though, you can go buy it on amazon.

  • Towards the end, there's the mom singing, Youth singing "gotta get away," and Stew and the band singing "this is your life, it's the only one you've got. this is your life, there ain't no way out." A bit too much going on. That Daniel Breaker sounded great though, from what I could hear of it.

Thanks for posting this. I had missed it when it was televised.

  • I disagree, I think that it brings across a kind of confused and trapped tone.

  • Wow. I like this song alot!

  • really freaking cool
