Wow, I never realized how simple their songs were. Nothing like the technicality behind SikTh's work. I'm not hating on the band, love the music, but SikTh is my all-time favorite band, them and Between the Buried and Me.
Try playing some of James Leach's bass lines (SikTh) to really get a work out, ha ha.
Dude throws down slap, harmonics, tap, finger, everything.
This happens to be one of their simpler songs for sure, but their stuff gets more technical than this, but SikTh was on a level above most others so thats unfair to compare lol
and I get into slapping and all that good stuff too don't worry haha just started playing in a tech-death band and it's work out for sure. Check my Sleep Terror cover too, its the most complicated vid I have as of yet
Oh okay, I didn't think they were usually that simple, but I haven't listened to 'em in a good while. But yeah, haha, sorry, anytime this style of music appears SikTh comes to mind. It's hard to fall in love with similar bands when no one comes near the standard set by them.
Haha, nice nice!! I'm watching it now, sounds awesome! How long have you been playing, man?
Oh, by the way, I'm an artist as well as bassist, so if you guys ever need art, hit me up! :)
Ibanez SR506, right? I've got the 505. Beautiful piece of instrumental perfection. I just didn't keep up with maintaining the finish on mine so I wound up taking chunks out of it with my thumb and forefinger.
That's an Ibanez Soundgear 6 string. I have the same one, but in 5 strings. They are incredible basses and probably the best bang for your buck. Durable, great sounding, and easy to play. The coat can always use a protective over-coat to prevent wearing, I literally have chunks out of mine from popping/slapping but if anything it just made it a more comfortable, custom "fit" to my hand
Awesome man, check out my Void bass cover
