  • it doesn't always work. i rolled a die and i got 6 3 6

  • 'See you later calculator' i'm going to start saying that to all my nerdy friends :P

    Hope you don't mind :)

  • @IJustChillingI dont you read the below comments?the comment was fucking 4 months ago!and this trick is fucking bored now!

  • D doesn't stand for difference but it stands for Derek

  • No, I don't get you

  • i cam here to learn a trick not learm math

  • how in the God sake you got 7 in a dice roll???

  • Dude man you are like the smartest math guy I've ever seen. Of course i'm only 11.

  • See ya later, calculator.. Isn't that catchy?

  • How is this hard to follow? I think it's a brilliant explanation

  • All I heard was blah blah blah:P

  • did anyone else loose track after the first 30 seconds

  • All I can hear is "You'll never undersdtand any of this, hahaha." but that's probably just me.

  • he complicated it....

  • The square root is 33. So, no shit it works.

  • 7 isn't on the dice

  • what about 626?

  • test a number here --> bit[dot]ly/xUyf7o

  • holy shit man. im only is 7th grade

  • not if it ends up lets say..

    464... its will end up a 000 ! haha ! point said . (: Losers !

  • what can you say that again :]

  • How come I got 1098 When I did it with the number 261?? PLEASE dont Call me mean names I might have just made a mistake

  • he lost me at like the second page.

  • actually... 100d - d =100! hahhaha

  • @leekohl because if u have 100d and - means take away, so you take away the d so you get 100

  • @wildcatkyle10 um no that problem would read out 100 x d - d and by order of operations u have to do (100 x d) first the subract d

  • @leekohl IT'S CALLED A JOKE-.- retard

  • @leekohl it was a joke r u dumb? im not trying to be rude!

  • @leekohl

  • how did u get 7 at dice??!?!?!!?

  • my head hurts.

  • what about 999-999=0 0+0 = 0 ????????/

  • 857 - 758 + 99 99 + 99 198 ?????

  • sorry all i could think of was austim powers movie. i don't know why

  • i am 10 years old and i diddnt see that AT ALL

  • Lady Gaga Talks Crowd Surfing

  • U have a wierd accent! But I like it. heh heh heh!

  • It's the pythagream therom I think

  • @dragonballz1105144 The Pythagorean theorem: The sum of the areas of the two squares on the legs (a and b) equals the area of the square on the hypotenuse. That's geometry... this is algebra...geez, stick with dbz and let the mathematics to big guys ok :)) ?

  • Singingbanana you r the new eintstein

  • Did he just call me a calculator? I don't know if I should be offended or not.

  • how about 123-321 its not working :|

  • @Parthematics it's because the seven. U have to use numbers 1-6 because it's a dice trick

  • @equinox1997 No, because if I picked, for example, 463. 463-364=99. 99+99=198, not 1089.

  • Too many words... A + c - d • b....

  • MATH IS COOL! jk i got an F on my quiz last week.. Fuck you Ms.Nathaniel

  • begining of da vid : so how do u do it?

end of da vid: so how do you do it?

  • The FU!!!!!!!!!

  • I FEEL THE NERD POWER INSIDE OF ME IS GETTING GREEN o_o HUNERK!!!

  • howabout if 666-666=000+000=0??

  • @mhaikal99 He already explained that. In that 1 in 6 instance, it doesn't work. Besides, it's not possible that the number 666 would come up because the middle digit (in the tens place, if that makes more sense) is not 9.

  • @dayl140 i know!i know! i want to remove that comment that wa 2 months ago!! can you see it was 2 month AGO!!i already forgot about this! i already dont like this goddamn trick

  • @dayl140 "Besides, it's not possible that the number 666 would come up because the middle digit (in the tens place, if that makes more sense) is not 9."

You do NOT know what you're talking about. :|

  • @dayl140 how the trick works is with a dice and yer it is possible that u could get the number 6 three times in a row, its unlickley but possible infact iv done it a few times myslef actually, but yes your right it doesnt work.

  • @mhaikal99 or 199

  • @mhaikal99 he said if they are the same you will end up with 0.

  • @mhaikal99 you can't throw a ''0'' with a dice...

  • @mhaikal99 0 you fuckface

  • @MrSchuler84 OMG people,people,people..and you,can you see the date that i comment, its 2 month ago!!!my god!i already forget about this damn thing. Its bored now,and i dont know why my comment is on the top,BY THE WAY MrSchuler84,nice word you got there

  • Comment removed

  • @mhaikal99 why did i first think of 666 too? :D why not 444 or 333? has to be the number of the beast

  • @mhaikal99 he explained in the video: it will always work if "a" is greater than "c"; "a" CANNOT equal "c" or you will get 0, "a" cannot be LESS than "c" or you will get a negative number.

  • @Randomizer903 OMG!!!OK PEOPLE!i said already!many times!!!i get it i get it!look at my comment, its was fuckin 30 months ago!!!why would you still thumbsing up my comment!!this trick if fuckin borring now!

  • @mhaikal99 why not delete it then?

  • @Randomizer903 because im lazy

  • @mhaikal99 If you watched the entire video you would've heard that it doens't work if the first and last digits are the same.

  • @mhaikal99 if you role a 666 you are so freaking lucky

  • I picked the number 473. It didn't really work.....please respond!!

  • boner

  • I jus failed that math class

  • you and your algebra

  • one time i got 198!

  • @camigirl141, did u not listen to the video? He said the 3rd number has to be different than the 1st

  • @ATHENA1231000, lol, ur a stupid 12 year old. Are you special ed

  • 666-666=000+000=000 it doesnt always work

  • I am 12 and I am going to have a very long headache

  • but what if you get same numbers all the time ._.

  • im lost at hello everyone

  • say wha.....

  • Am I right in thinking that the majority of clever people have good memories, they obviously can remember what they have been taught and the sequence of how to find the right answer. And people like me who get by but struggle a bit have not so good memories, and a short attention span becau

  • this was so cool! im gonna do this to piss off some dumb kids in my algebra class!

  • no, it doesnt always work, here are some examples:

    564-465=99 99+99=198

    251-152=99 99+99=198

    655-556=99 99+99=198

There is some proof that it doesnt always work.

Thumbs up if you think my math is correct.

I'm a 10 year old math wiz that has been through some examples of the trick that dont work.

  • @ProfessorLoopy542 @ProfessorLoopy542 It's true that you get 99. For example, 564-465 = 99. However, 99 can ALSO mean 099. When you reverse 099 you get 990. Add 990 to 99.. you know! :)

  • he makes it look more complecated than it really is...

  • Hello SingingBanana I'm MeltedBananna

  • anythin wrong with the presumption?

  • Hope u get d tym to response......wud luv 2 c ur comment!!! i saw the ericsurf problem....did i kinda d same thing....but once i get 100 (x-z) - (x-z) ....i jus write it as 99(x-z)....(but since its a dice u knw the "(x-z)" is between 1 n 5) get the 5 number (99*1,99*2,....,99*5) and wen u add them up in the reverse order u get 1089.....but wat ull also realize is (99*1 and 99*10 , 99*2 and 99*8.....basically 99*(n) and 99*9(11-n) are always mirror image numbers....if thts wat they're called!!

  • Are you a Maths teacher or something?

  • Comment removed

  • If you use 3 of the same numbers it docent work so if you take 333-333 = 0 and then 0+0 =0 not 1089

  • @sammil120 it will alway work as long as the first and last numbers are different

  • @singingbanana Oh no dude your doing math with letters.

  • How can't people follow this. I can do this shit in my head

  • My brain crashed at 0:08

  • wow you just could have said it will work all the time if you do it the exact same way instead of explaining it

  • see ya later calculator!!! i love that

  • i love that acsent and right now i am out of school so i should not be leaning any thing

  • d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d thats all i get from this

  • again just a little bit slower thanks :)

  • Sorry, i do calculus, i don't know what algebra is anymore :(

  • this guy is awsome

  • I have that book :)

  • up until 2:33, i was thinking "how did this guy figure it out?". When he showed the book i was just thinking "wow. this guy just got it from a book." thanks for showing me it anyway.

  • @MeTube7734 The book does it differently. It really isn't that hard to figure out for yourself.

  • @singingbanana oh. nice job then.

  • @MeTube7734 really dude how did he figurwe it out it is simple he is singingBanana

  • ok wait i got it now he "forgot" to mention if the first diget is one less or larger than the last digit the answer will always be 202 or if the last digit is smaller or larger than the first digit by 1 it will always be 202 :)

  • False my good man! ok heres an example

    526 ok reverse it

    625 subtract

    101 reverse it

    101 add it

202 and thats my answer and as i was saying FALSE!

  • @lolbagels 526-625 is -099 reverse that and add -990 and you get -1089. and he did mention if the first digit = last digit the answer will always be 0 and if the last digit is greater than the first digit, the answer will always be -1089. you might want to recheck your math

  • 0:00 to 2:11 meant no sense to me

  • amazing, have you ever not solved one of eric surf 6 or mismag822 tricks or puzzles? i think not

  • i keep getting 1989......

  • im in summer and im watching this

  • you talk to fast!

  • 2 times didn't work: 135-511=-356+653=297 334-433=-99+99=0 -.-

  • @NoNameAkkount

He said when the 1st number is less than the second ur supposed to minus in the second step [-356 - 653]

    Plus 135 is not 511 its 531

But ur second example even when u minus its -198, but I think all 3 numbers have to be different

  • @NoNameAkkount You're supposed to put the bigger number before the smaller one -.-

  • Can someone explain me how you get from 100d - d = 100(d-1) + 90 +(10-d)?

I know it's the same rearranged but how do you do this?

  • @DerDanh There's nothing magic about it. The left hand side is the same as the right hand side, that is all.

  • im the smarted person in my class and even my head hurts\

  • Easyer solution... - like 521 - 125 = 396 = 396 + 693 = 1089.

  • Thank you very much! :D

  • @arenviscool diddums.

  • @singingbanana what???

  • @singingbanana Your accent is so amazing i had to replay the video 5 times just to hear it.

  • it doesnt work in all cases

i dont think it works if: the 3-digit number starts with 7,8,9

the first subtraction comes out negative

and in most cases while u include 7,8,9

  • You lost me at 'D' but I loved the video :D

  • See ya later calculater! XDD

    EPIC!!

  • Pretty cool...

  • .........i dont know algebra

  • what if i did 353 subtract 353 equals 0 then 0 plus 0 equals 1089 nice trick

  • he's a proffessional!

  • wooooow ur a bit hyper and stuff... :p great vid tho =)

  • Come on, guys, this is really just.. basic understanding of maths .. You learn these things in the 5th grade at worst, it's not an "algebra class" ..

Anyways, back on topic, you forgot a small note: you don't always get 1089 if a is greater than c; you will get 0 if (a-c)=1 (say for the number 271); that is because (a-c)-1 will be 0 and hence at 1:44 you no longer get a 3 digit number, you get 99..

Anyways, very well explained; I can see why you have 97.7% likes ;)

  • @Lightn0x Thanks! In that case I was thinking of 99 as 099.

  • @singingbanana i dont understand how you rearrange that but the rest is clear :D

  • I'm sorry but all my life d has represented diameter couldn't get it straight

  • Praise Math!

  • on the bit 100(d-1)+90+(10-d) where did the -1, 90 and 10 comes from?

  • @cheeselover55699 Like in the beginnig, a represents 100s, b represents 10s and c just 1s. Since the solution also has to be a 3 digit number (see it as 10, 8, and 9): 100d-d is converted. So 1 hundred is taken of, but that has to be compensated with another hundred, so its: 100d-d-100+90+10.. Hence -100+90+10 at the end. (it makes no difference because it's 0) For short that's 100d-100+90+10-d, or 100(d-1)+90+10-d, exactly what he said (I'm not really sure about this but i think I'm right)

  • doesn't work if the first digit is only 1 more than the last digit...

    312 - 213 = 99

    99 + 99 = 198

but if you wrote it as:

    312 - 213 = 099

    099 + 990 = 1089

    it will work...

  • advanced math class pays off!!!=)

  • @pinmincentral im 11and I get it :)

  • @Brp3990 im 10 and i don't

  • c u later calculator<---- wow...

  • am i the only one who gets it? IM ONLY 12!!!! COME ON PEOPLE GET A GRIP!!!! ITS SIMPLE!@!!!!!!

  • it didn't happened if the 1st and the 3th are 4...!! i get 424 424-424=0 0+0=0

  • i like to just role the dice and get ppl to do the math and go "ahhhhhhh"

  • I prefer his model of thinking of it as a number between 1 and 9 times 99 - looking at the possible three digit solutions of that 198, 297, 396, 495, 594, 693, 792, 891 - notice that the first and last digits add up to 9 so reversing it and adding will mean you have 900 + 2*90 + 9 = 1089

It saves on some of the algebra but is more natural.

  • thats it im telling your mom your taking to much caffiene

  • UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH i dont get it...............

  • Do you need a bathroom?

  • Can this work?

    123-321= -198

    -198+891=693

    396+693=1089?

I think you can use it if your first number is lower than your last number

  • Comment removed

  • my head hurts now...

  • hah awesome. Good work

  • My Brain hurtz...

  • 333-333=0, 0+0=0 fail

  • 621 dont work 453 dont work531 dont work wow it does not work for EVERY number

  • @pj12347

    621-126=495

    495+594=1089

    531-135=396

    396+693=1089

you are almost correct with 453.

    453-354=099

    099+990=1089

remember that we are working with three digit numbers.

  • 453-354=99+99=189 fail

  • I did not understand it.

Could be that english is not my native language.

Anyways see your later calculator is awesome.

  • wow i came for a solution not algebra class

  • @natem016 And the solution involves algebra, accept it.

  • @singingbanana

    *chuckle* Too right.

  • that's some good math work.

  • hahaha! the devils number doesn't work! 666

    bahhahaha! how ironic!! :D

  • umm.... 666 ?

  • @shikoco as he said it only comes out to 1089 if the first number is greater than the last number. if they are equal the answer will always be 0.
