reminds me of Dick Lane's stock car races in Torrance Calif I used to watch on TV in the late 1950's. He used to call out ohh,ohh,ohh.. thanks for the memories
Thanks for posting the jalopy racing videos. All of the action is from the Bryan, Ohio Speedway in 1963. I attended races there and took many color slides in the pits of the race cars seen in the video. Coupe # 83 in Ken Clady of Holgate, Ohio, the #35 is Roy Forbes of Bryan, Ohio, and the red, white, and blue #11 is Don Sattison from Waterloo, Indiana. I'll study it some more and see if I can ID any of the others in the "sportsman car' class.
@DayHeath Wow! Thank you for identifying this old footage. It was sent to me out here in Washington state from Ohio to transfer to DVD, which I did. But the footage was so wonderful I felt compelled to load it up here on YT for people such as yourself to enjoy. I am just thrilled you recognized the track and participants! If you id more please post up any more info you can. Thanks again!! Happy Holidays!
@dainbreadfilms I recommend you to go at Home Movie Depot site and check out the whole ways they have to transfer your old media in high quality. Hope this helps.
yes i believe the first stock car races were held , in london back in 1954 . although banger racing as we call it here in the uk , did 'nt really become popular until 1968.

It is also referred to as "bump & run" here in the U.S. I just love the nostalgia of that period.

My old dad ran a car in the1940's and 50's. This brings a tear to my eye. Love the music. Strauss?
