The private rail companies own report states that the station "viaduct greatly impedes traffic and pedestrian circulation into the Centre". Yet this render shows ticket barriers across the new bridge entrance.
If the rail companies want taxpayer money for this project shouldn't the bridge be open to pedestrians so it improves access across the river into the city centre for all, not just profit boosting train passengers?
@GBdrbob My thoughts exactly. Having just bought a property at Granary Wharf (the location of the new entrance) we were led to believe this new entrance would benefit us getting into the city but we're not sure how this would work, maybe a barrier pass for residents? But this still does not address the problem of accessibility for pedestrians.
architect has got it all wrong... its not very in-keeping with its surroundings, and is out of context witht he building it's joining onto... to juxtaposed to be considered as good architecture...
Just so everyone knows, this is a scheme by Bauman Lyons Architects in Leeds. A brief snippet about it is on their website under projects. I think its a brilliant idea because there is going to be a LOT of future development (as there already has been) around the Holbeck area. Plus the view of the river is very nice too!
Of course, if the money spent on this animation had been spent on a few blokes with shovels and barrows, then we might not still be waiting for this to be built!
The exact arrangements are yet to be finalised, but the step-free entry would be accessed via the arches either side of the river, allowing access to the lifts at the rear of the lobby area.
Be better spending money on reopening railway lines like Harrogate Ripon and Wetherby

Why is there a child no older than 8 playing rugby league on his own. What's happened to society?

@remondo Yes I think it is important barriers are in place, but a pass may be the answer.

Waste of money if you ask me, the want people to loose weight, so they should be encouraging people to walk the extra yards to the existing entrance.

I agree with you, I think it is quite ugly in its self also. The idea of a south entrance is a great idea though, just need a better architect.

Pretty good idea actually, but I think i'd need a zoomed out render to get a better picture

Looks good. Not sure from the video, however, how the disabled access will work.
