Went from my Zoom digital effects pedal into a mixing board, mixed the Disturbed CD audio in live from a CD player, and output it all into the stereo RCA inputs on a USB hub that came with my video editing software. Mixing everything together at the start obviously sacrifices flexibility later, but it got the job done for this project.

I'm pretty sure it's still legal fair use since I'm jamming over them, not putting up the original track, but that's just how it turned out. @cemeteryatmidnight I'm honored you like the tone that much. For this video, I didn't use an amp. I recorded direct for clarity and simplicity. The sound is coming straight from my Zoom G2.1u pedal, which uses a modeled distortion effect and some EQ. I can check the settings if you're really curious. The setting I had was kind of thin, but it had enough punch and cut to get the job done here.

It also helps that Dan Donegan's guitars from the recording are supporting my tone. ;)

hey i had a question about ur pedal, i was thinking about getting it soon. but i was wondering, since my amp has settings for tone (its a Line 6 Spider III 15) will the pedal and the amp interfere with each other, and if so, how would i fix it so that the pedal is where the tone comes from?

Your modeling amp should have a clean setting so that the distortion, EQ, and effects come from the pedal, but your tone will likely still be affected by your amp. Your best bet would be to bring your amp to a music store and try out some of the pedal's presets together with your amp.

Zoom G2.1u, a multi-effects unit that (for this song) supplies the distortion and wah-wah. I switch patches for the section before the third chorus section to enable the harmonizer, then go back to the wah-wah patch midway through the chorus. It's a great multitasking tool for tones and effects.

Guitar World transcribed "Inside The Fire," and also included a video lesson with Dan Donegan. I spot-checked everything and worked on it from there.

I learned "Indestructible" by ear and transcribed it myself. Hopefully, YouTube re-enables that vid one of these days too.

That's a nice-looking guitar! Both squeals are on the G string; first one's at the 3rd fret, and the second is at the 5th fret. Choke up on the pick so just a little bit of the tip is exposed, and touch the string with the corner of your thumb at almost exactly the same time as you pick. It might help to pick a little closer to the bridge than you normally would. Don't forget to put some smooth, wide vibrato on it for expression. Look up "pinch harmonics" on YouTube for some tutorial videos.
