wow so you know abut BMWs BS too with there rocker arms that control lift. lift starts at the camshaft. that goes to a hydralic lifter. depends on the engine some are push rod some are over head cam. Lift is the hight which a cam lobe raises a lifter. duration depends on the opening ramp and opening flank on the camshaft to get your number of degrees of crankshaft travel when the valve is of the seat. now you are the dumb ass.

maxou5757 - I agree and funny thing is quattro is more effective in bad weather than X-drive because doesn't have to wait for the computer to think. In the dry Acura's SH-AWD is good from a technical standpoint - but Acura's chassis and suspension tuning (handling-wise) don't match Audi's in terms of dynamic ability. So overall I would agree that quattro is the best because of how it performs in a performance and safey means. Now on the RS5 Audi updated it again.

Active Sport Differential in the rear axle is now based on electronics and distributes power according to the corner you are driving in.

IT DOES NOT USE BRAKES ANYMORE AS NORMAL E S P USTEM USED IN ALMOST EVERY CAR!!!!

Basicly it has additional control unit, and a 'gearbox' inside the new differential which eliminates the use of the brakes when the car is trying to stabilize itself....you're not putting brakes to the one wheel...you throttle the other!

yeah, SAWC hasn't changed much at all. it is still in essence the same system now as when it was new. in the front and rear diffs, there are two extra shafts, one rotating at +15% axle speed, and one at -15%. to vector torque, the computer will lock the the inner or outer wheels to these shafts.(depending on what drive mode is selected, it may or may not adjust throttle also).

basically it's an over-complicated version of what Mitsubishi already does in their lancer evolution's differentials... except instead of using planetary transmissions and clutch packs, the evo has two shafts in the differentials that are rotating at + and - 15% normal axle speed. when the computer detects slippage or insufficient torque it reacts by locking the corresponding wheel to one of the shafts to compensate. Audi doesn't DO "revolutionary".
