They were just more punk back then. Although I LOVE all of their stuff. Take off your Pants and Jacket, their self-titled album, Enema of the State, they are all awesome. I agree, Scott has speed where Travis has technique, but I can also argue that Travis has speed just as good as Scott does. If you listen to their live CD, Mark Tom and Travis Show, he old songs like carousel faster that the original songs were (because that is usually what they do while playing live). He keeps up with it. So I think Travis is better because he has both speed and technique.

He repeats the same 90s punk rock beat all over again. -Bass - Snare - Bass - Snare - Bass - Snare - Bass - Snare - He does that in like every song they did when he was in the band. Plus his 8th notes are crappy and he does that dumb snare thing. While travis he comes up with original beats for a song. Something you wouldn't think of. He's even in the top best drummers in the world.

Obviously Travis is a better drummer, but Scott is a better straight punk drummer. Travis gets a little too fancy for me sometimes, but he's still the man.
I like Travis Barker better then Scott Raynor, and yes we know blink turned into "punk-pop" when Travis joined. Pretty easy to tell Travis Barker is the more talented drummer. But I like Cheshire Cat and Dude Ranch too.

i think Scott's stuff sounds a bit the same, i prefer Travis. he plays his heart and is great live. also he is pretty good with bringing in new ideas, and is ok at writing lyrics for songs so... he wins it. *shrugs*
when scott was with them the drumming was the same on alot of the songs but they were more punk back then,travis is a more rounded drummer and deff brought alot to blink.some people dont like change but blink kinda has a song for every one and thats cool to me.I personally dont care if a band changes,if the music is cool changes isn't always bad.some people have a big eog and only like one type of music and thats just dumb.
Scott is far more linear than Travis is. He doesn't add any real depth and sticks to the same repeating cycle. All you can do while listening to Travis is try and catch all his subtleties.
i don't know what it is about travis. i feel like his stage presence is awesome! but then off the stage he is like one of the borgingist people alive. not that scott would be any different.Mark and tom are so outgoing and hilarious and then theres travis. I still love him though!
Although Travis' style of drumming may not be "ideal" for blink-182, he brings a totally different and cool dynamic to the sound of the band, and that's part of the reason why blink is so unique, for alot of blink tracks, the drum part travis plays is arguably the hook of the song (I Miss You, even Online Songs)
iv always liked scott better, talent wise travis wins, but you cant compare them cuz scott was real punk drumming and travis was pop shit. scott suits the band more with the humor and travis looks miserable, scott has done more cuz scott nd tom mark took them ages getting to different labels and recording.

there is no comparison between travis barker and scott raynor. travis barker is a pretty decent drummer. im a percussion major at a div 1 university. i know what im talking about. scott raynor does the same stupid snare on the &s on every song. travis is just as fast as scott too. he plays his songs live, and at faster tempos and scott raynors 8th notes arent even at all. hes a horrible drummer, travis isnt that great but 10 times better than raynor, and has a lot more style and showmanship.

scott made the drumming for dumpweed and whats my age again. He did all of the enema album songs travis just switched it up more hip-hop and poppy, scott would of been an awesome drummer for todays and he was creative in his songs. he can probably do what travis does cause i mean he's faster and if random kids on youtube can do what travis does so can scott!

i think theyre both good in their own way, travis brings in different styles of drumming but scott is clearly a faster drummer than travis. i think Scott's stuff sounds a bit the same, i prefer Travis. he plays his heart and is great live. also he is pretty good with bringing in new ideas, and is ok at writing lyrics for songs so... he wins it. *shrugs*

when scott was with them the drumming was the same on alot of the songs but they were more punk back then,travis is a more rounded drummer and deff brought alot to blink.some people dont like change but blink kinda has a song for every one and thats cool to me.I personally dont care if a band changes,if the music is cool changes isn't always bad.some people have a big eog and only like one type of music and thats just dumb.

Scott is far more linear than Travis is. He doesn't add any real depth and sticks to the same repeating cycle. All you can do while listening to Travis is try and catch all his subtleties.

Although Travis' style of drumming may not be "ideal" for blink-182, he brings a totally different and cool dynamic to the sound of the band, and that's part of the reason why blink is so unique, for alot of blink tracks, the drum part travis plays is arguably the hook of the song (I Miss You, even Online Songs)

there is no comparison between travis barker and scott raynor. travis barker is a pretty decent drummer. im a percussion major at a div 1 university. i know what im talking about. scott raynor does the same stupid snare on the &s on every song. travis is just as fast as scott too. he plays his songs live, and at faster tempos and scott raynors 8th notes arent even at all. hes a horrible drummer, travis isnt that great but 10 times better than raynor, and has a lot more style and showmanship.

@hiilikeyourbeard neither of them are that good. travis is a great show man. and scott fit. but hes no where near as good as travis. and his 8ths arent even. its like he tries to use a moeller stroke and his unaccented note comes in to early. just listen to the parts you can hear it and his parts are all the same. if you wanna good drummer look at aaron spears, rashid williams, thomas lang, thomas pridgen or and drum corps has really good drummers.

scott made the drumming for dumpweed and whats my age again. He did all of the enema album songs travis just switched it up more hip-hop and poppy, scott would of been an awesome drummer for todays and he was creative in his songs. he can probably do what travis does cause i mean he's faster and if random kids on youtube can do what travis does so can scott!

i think theyre both good in their own way, travis brings in different styles of drumming but scott is clearly a faster drummer than travis. Me personally, i prefer scott cause his drumming always gets me moving and remembering the time of when i was young. like old blink and his drumming especially makes me wanna grab a skateboard and skate forever. i just dont feel it with travis and 2000s blink

@PunkRockCovers . correct me if im wrong not all that sure on this but yeah. scott left the band because he didnt like the direction they were going in and he didnt think it was for him. so travis stepped in and he was a reallly big blink fan 2. and of course they are going to be sounding different they are both 2 completely different drummers. scott is really fast and up beat and travis is tech. would be nice to see them live with scott though
