@SkullCandyBaby16 its a large gaming computer, and depending on the amount of ram, type of videocard, and complexity of game you are playing, i wouldn't hope to get more than an hour out of a single charge. However, nowadays you can plug a charger in just about anywhere, planes, cars, school, so i wouldnt base your decision on how much battery you can get. If you are used to having a macbook, than just keep in mind that macs have an outstanding battery life compared to most laptops

@simmin552 it depends on how powerful you want the laptop, how big you want it ect... If you want a fully-loaded, 18 inch, 1+tb hard-drive it's gonna cost you over $5000, now, if you just want a "normal" gaming pc, I would say 1500 is a fair price, you basically make it how you want.

@j4fmemo Idk about not upgrading. I have mine maxed out except for ram which is 8 gigs. It cost around $3,077 US dollars. If you want to just play rift and GW2 I would for sure go for the m11x, but if you really want the First person shooter games like cod and stuff I would say m17x for sure. If they made the m15 still I would say that but sadly its discontinued. As for what you should in terms of CPU and GPU and you would have to do research but for the games you want deff get the min ram

@sriggss if you want good battery life, then don't buy a gaming laptop. Laptops like this simply cannot have good battery life. Its not like there is another company out there with some kind of super amazing non existent battery technology from the future that allows them to run high end quad core processors and dual video cards, and have it all last for 8 hours like a little netbook. Gaming laptops are essentially portable desktops, easy to move around, but they have to stay plugged in.

I just bought one of these. Took a month to arrive 3000$ system. The laptop came with a defective screen so they sent out a "professional" to change it. They sent a RMA screen for my brand new laptop and it was still broken. along with that the repair man destroyed the laptop by scratching the aluminum, breaking the power button, and every piece is out of alignment. The screen was hanging out of the frame, and to top it off the repair man left me with a bag of screws he forgot to back in.

@buwg I know, he's a totally arrogant fool, built in intel graphics (depending on acer model) will not even TOUCH either of the SLI options available for the m17x, those are being 1GB Crossfire 5870s or 1GB SLI GTX 285Ms, plus, acer aspire can't be futureproofed out of the box with 8 GB of RAM and the Acer processor does not auto adjust based on how many cores are required for a certain application, he's just talking out of his ass.

@creed3637 You need to slow down and learn how to type, and if I want a gaming laptop, I'd get alienware, I personally hate their desktops, but their laptops are top notch, and if you're like me and are on the go a lot you can't afford to pack up a desktop every week, and your definition of 'Overheating' is probably off, if its 60C or under, its not overheating, this laptop easily does that, you're just too ignorant to accept that.
