  • tumbs up if you are playing this on 2012

  • tumbs up if u play this game in 2012

  • WTF Cybill? You're a cop and you pass on a double solid line? On a mountain highway with dangerous curves? Yeah, you deserve what happened to you.

  • Legendary

  • I'd love to play this.

  • I´m still playing this at 2012

  • @morrisonj123 Highfive, bro

  • Unmatched, sombre and artistic. There were times when one could be surprised with the unexpected.

  • @arthurshfan You can define my taste in games just because I like the first four Silent Hill games, yeah, including The Room; if you were a true fan, you would know how to indentify what's good in it, as the other ones do. I think you are just a douchebag, complaining about every f*cking game that's going to be released. Silent Hill is never going to be the same anymore, but it doesn't me it's dead. If you don't like the new ones, stick with the other 3, but please, stop talking crap about it.

  • amazing, this game is a masterpiece.

  • creativeprojects720 you stupid you dont now what silent hill is

  • @s1a1n1d1i hehe, I have no idea what it is, but I'm just learning that it is a video game. I know a lot more than most uneducated americans, however, about history and other topics.

  • This song is so emotional to me...

  • ok pero al final kien es la k casi atropellan amm..... en la pelicula, es la mama de la hija perdida ase años, o en el juego la de la iglecia... alguien k able español¿?

  • what the hell is silent hill?

  • @creativeprojects720 Are you fucking kidding me?

  • @OdinFifteen no, I'm not kidding. And that is coming from a big time gamer. I love return to castle wolfenstein. Are you familiar with it?

  • @creativeprojects720 one of the greatest survival horror games to have ever been made

  • @Hecksum311 I see. ok, what year was it made. I am a big fan of Return to castle wolfenstein (2001) do you know that game?

  • @creativeprojects720 before that, it was a ps1 game came out a little after resident evil 2

  • @creativeprojects720 The best franchise of videogames EVER.

  • just got this game for my psp heck yeah

  • 1:55 the best part

  • The scariest game for me.

Even the intro is so haunting.

And damn that static radio signal it creeps me out!

One of the PS1 game that i never finish.

  • (Enters room)

Me: You watching? Oh okay ready?

    (Nodes head)

Me: Silent Hill 1 is the best game ever, nothing is as good.

(Someone throws a sword at me.)

    Me:Uff!

Pyramid Head: HAHAHAHAHA! Take that non-SH2 fan boy!

  • MAN! NOSTALGIA!

  • I'm not tricking you guys or advertising some stupid website... But if you want, I have free porn on my channel if you wish to check it out!

  • FYI you can buy the game on PSN Store. I just hope that they could offer a discount for Xmas.

  • Who is the person that is on the road at the end that they miss?and the old woman with a veil? I'm new to silent hill so sorry if I'm bugging anyone with dumb questions.

  • @chihuahuagirlz1 The woman in the viel is Dhalia Gillepsie. The person that Harry Mason misses at the end is Alessa Gillepsie.

If you havent played Silent Hill 1, find a copy online or at store, buy it and play it. Worth every penny.

  • I like this. It's like Russian folk meets Ennio Morricone or something.

  • @rsuriyop Your right!

  • Silent Hill 1-2-3 = 10/10

    Silent Hill 4 The Room = 8/10

    Silent Hill Homecoming 7/10

    Silent Hill Origins 6,5/10

    Silent Hill Shattered Memories 6/10

  • Thumbs up if you love japenese looking PS1 characters !

  • I REMEMBER FIRST SEEING THIS INTRO IN LIKE 98' I KNEW THIS WOULD BE A CLASSIC. THIS AND RESIDENT EVIL. MY FAVORITES.

  • Silent Hill 1-4 are some of the best games ever created, Silent Hill Origins and Shattered Memories are also really good. Homecoming was meh at best but Downpour looks like a great game...Only time will tell.

  • Yes, we all can agree that the first 4 SH games were a little better than the rest, but one of the reasons for that was after SH 4 the director of the game got swapped with another person, so the rest were created by a fully different person with, well, different ideas. I'm pretty sure we all miss the last director though.. xD

  • ♥♥♥

    i love silent hill

  • "Don't like to play this game tends to like play shit games." Awesome game.

  • 2:00 never found that cutscene in the game.

  • @MrTerroristAKAMatt yeah, alot of the cutscenes and places you see in the intro are never in the game...

like the house after 2:00 is not in the game.....unless thats the house you are in for the final boss fight.

  • @KurikazuTheWarrior I always got the impression that the writing team had most of the story planned out long before the original was actually released, and that they intended to flesh out bits of Alessa's story in future installments. The house, for example, really looks like the burning house you find Alessa in during the opening sequence of, and this could be wrong as I haven't played it in a really long time, Origins.

  • 0:58

  • Hardest Game ever to Beat!

  • i ffffffuuuuukin' love this theme... beautiful!

  • the best game i've ever played, and trust me i've played a lot. My first daughter is to be named Alessa in true honor to those days i spent afraid, anxious, and thrilled to no end with this masterpiece.

  • @elendless what?? ur actually gonna name ur real daughter Alessa too?? well.. let's hope she doesnt give u any otherwordly troubles hehe... still id be amazed if u really name her Alessa some day

  • @heyjeySigma oh i am, but its not because i like the character that much (which i kinda do but thats not the reason) its to honor my high school days as a gamer, and to honor the best videogame i've played and enjoyed from beggining to end.

  • @elendless very well said, I can definately relate =)

  • Hello all Silent Hill Fans. " SilverWorldEntertainment " is the right channel for you when it comes down to Silent Hill. • the fear of blood tends to create fear for the flesh

  • best Silent Hill ever, classic

  • i hate the new silent hills. the REAL silent hills made by team silent were SH 1 to 4 and cant compare those to the american made crappy silent hills.. in shattered memoryes they made a dumb harry mason

  • Harry mason>Chuck Norris and every one else in this world

  • no puedo creerlo Alessa a sido tres personas distintas

  • Wow no comments on like the 5 different endings this game had??

  • @jvalladaresj1 this game has 4 endings

  • Search for "Portishead - Sour Times" and you'll be amazed at the similarities between the songs.

  • A great portrial of human emotions with silent hill.

Total genius, like I real cared for the nurse with blood pouring down her face.

That's what made this game so great. The overall emotional feeling of the game.

  • at the beginning when I died I was like "great... death after one minute of playing"

  • Game of my life =]

  • Homecomming......... just wasnt scary, i mean never once did i feel the tension that the first 4 conjured up for me, shattered memories, i like.... odd as that may sound, origins, i havent play much of, but i got the ps2 version which is a port of a portable game.... seemed to suffer due to that fact

  • Lo mejor de la Play.

  • People complain too much about everything. Homecoming was not, by far, the terrible disaster everyone talks about. Maybe it was no match for the first 4 games, but who cares? No Silent Hill will ever match those ones. We can enjoy the new ones too without bashing them. I also like Origins and Shattered Memories. And yes, I LOVE Silent Hill. I can enjoy the series's past without crapping about the new ones.

  • @arthurshfan I could not agree with you more=) I love the new Silent Hill games just as much as I love the old Silent Hill games! Outta the old ones, Silent Hill 3 is my favorite! And outta the new ones, Homecoming, I loved that game! To me, as a fan, EVER Silent Hill game needs love^W^

  • @arthurshfan I have to strongly disagree. It would be okay if they had their action games as spin-offs, if they didn't stop making the deep psycological ones, but they did (even ceasing doing any would feel better). The new SH games do NOT have a heart put on it. It's not a matter of being a match to the old ones or not, but these are becoming a mock of what a human feeling aws put in them. They have become an action-survivor horror, with the budget and the deadline instead of the heart in it.

  • @arthurshfan good for you, you like a shitty psp game and a T rated silent hill game...fucking T rated...hm you shouldnt end an argument with that, i mean you end with showing how horrible your taste is for games and that you have no saying in the matter. you could just go with "like the first THREE(the fourth one wasnt even a silent hill game) but dont hate the others masterpieces that americans did with the franchise, including the incredible movie"

  • This song reminds me that, among all the horror of Silent Hill, there's always hope

  • The name of this game should have been "What the F____!?!"

Cause that's what you say 20+ times when playing it... and loving every second.

  • this intro & game are sooooo goooooooooooooood T_T

  • Silent Hill's such a great series. It's a shame they mysteriously stopped making them after the fourth.

  • @SergeantLuke You do realize that there is Homecoming, Origins, and Shattered Memories, right? Konami and co. are now working on Downpour, SH 8.

  • @First3Months "Homecoming"? "Origins"? "Shattered Memories"? Ha ha, you silly person! Those games don't exist! If they did, they would probably be terrible, and a disgrace to the series, and would make everyone instantly want to forget them entirely.

  • @First3Months (I'm being sarcastic, if you can't tell)

  • Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which is electronic music inspired by great games such as the Silent Hill series. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!

  • At the beginning it kind of sounds like the L4D2 music...

  • IS LIKE SASUSKE´S THEME

  • i cant wait to get this for my psp sure it would be great if i was around to play it on ps1 but oh well it still looks fantastic

  • What I loved about this game is that it forgoes the tradition of Playstation games of the time in giving us fast-paced rock music (or something of the like) and gives us something disturbing that better suits the tone of the game.

This was not action, it was human.

  • I never got out of that school, that was some piano puzzle that made me give up. Of course that was when the game was released, so I'll buy on PSN to get ready for the Collection later this year. Let's hope this time around I can beat it :P

  • Never before has a mandolin been so creepy...

  • A konami pode tentar até falir... mas Silent hill melhor que esse, nem para playstation 1000 vai ser melhor, historia, enrredo, o pq dos acontecimentos com a cidade. simplismente perfeito!!!

  • the music is awsome

  • ‎Silent Hill + Akira Yamaoka = Double Epic

  • wtf konami has blocked my country from watching this video. where the hell do i live narnia? good thing i have a uk vpn subscription.

  • i remember when i got my first ps1, i didn't play this game that much, i just liked the song, so i would put the game in to only hear the song and then take it out again, years later i played the game and loved it, SILENT HILL YEEEAAAAAAA!!!!!

  • man,i miss video games back in the day. Today, people are bitching about how many things are wrong with Black Ops. But when i was growing up. We thought Crock: Legend of the Gobbos and the 1st tony hawk games were a fucking masterpiece. remember when DOOM came out and GTA

  • i love the part of the intro with the doctor from 0:45 to 0:50

  • Comment removed

  • the first TRUE horror flick game that scared the hell out of me in 99'. damn that was a great year. it was the playstation version of " The Uninvited" for nes

  • wow!! un clasico. Gran videojuego!

  • @xMsPuppet

    YEP I KNO!!! :D

  • DAmn U KONAMI, bring the remakes to the Xbox 360!!

  • Legendary.

  • i tried playing this game. theres no point on trying it again if i keep fuckin dying lol

  • @Unblacken

You missed the point I was trying to make. I guess it does not matter now since you would have forgotten this discussion. But I was trying to say that Haunted House was the first example of survival horror. Sweet Home was the first example of psychological horror. Remember there are 2 types. Anyway I hope this helped with what I was trying to say.

  • Legendary game

  • I NEVER FORGET THIS AWESOME GAME

  • Thumbs up if this music still scares the shit outta you!

  • quien es la persona a la que atopellan ?

  • @Demonio2015 Alessa

  • @ot4kon , gracias por decirme,jeje,cuidate.

  • dahlia was so much more creepy in the game then she was in the movie

  • For me, the best game of all Silent Hill.

  • both RE and SH are awesome game... (i played both RE1- RE3.. and SH1) the only difference is that RE is more action based like one commentator just said, while SH focus on the horror part.... but still both are great games. no quarrel about it....

  • @NeonAccel

thats why i dont understand why people compare them. they are two completely different genres

  • I'd say Code Veronica the final real RE game chronologically

  • akira yamaoka i love you music

  • @ReflexRedux Oh my gosh a Silent Hill Heavy Rain type game.... someone make it happen.

  • This game changed my life.

  • youtube.com/user/XXInsipid?feature=mhee#p/u/4/PKqPkDrPWuU

  • @Unblacken

Haunted House established most of the elements of survival horror as we know them today. Evasive action instead of facing enemies with an arsenal of weapons. Gathering items in order to progress through the entire game. Puzzles also. I am a little confused about 1 thing. Because you said the house setting in current games was taken from Sweet Home. But in Haunted House you have to escape a haunted house. Hence the title "Haunted House". Research some sources to see things my way.

  • @AWonderingWarrior i've played haunted house. it really does not show how me how it was survival horror. it did not scare people like how sweet home did. i'm the biggest survival horror fan...and HH really didn't really influence. it just had puzzles and items to get. It is one of the earliest examples of survival horror but it was truly defined by sweet home. come on you have to be scary to be survival horror hence the name. why don't you play sweet home to see things my way :)

  • I wish games were like this again. Dead Space and Heavy Rain got close. Not there. Just close. Akira Yamaoka needs to be FULLY involved again. Also... where's my Silent Hill movie sequel?! Resident Evil can get 28 movies, but SH gets one? And that's after YEARS of waiting.

  • I know how you feel mate , Silent Hill 2 Is supposed to be out next year

  • I love this game; I think once they tried to quantify what was making silent hill ... well, silent, it started loosing its appeal.

I demand never to be satisfied with an answer!

  • Fatal Frame is much better actually it's the best horror game ever !

  • @bannutah I played Fatal Frame. It was pretty cool, I have to admit, but it had lots of of that "jump-scare" kind of thing. Ghosts popped up when you opened doors or turned a 180 with the camera out, but that fear lasts a few seconds. In Silent Hill, the scares come from the environment, the monsters and the music... oh, the music. In my opinion, that stuffs scars you for life. Silent Hill messes with your mind, Fatal Frame doesn't, and that's why I think Silent Hill dominates over Fatal Frame.

  • I loved this game!!!!!!!

  • Like Horror games?! Watch me beat Amnesia The Dark Descent! Super scaryyy! :)

  • the fear of blood tends to create fear for the flesh

  • It's like when you hear a ballad from the 80's and you think: "Damn! they don't do things like this anymore..." I think this music, this game, this story, this...EVERYTHING that Silent Hill is, can't be repeated, just emulated. No matter how fast my pc is now or how big is the TV where i connect my XBox, nothing compares to that feeling that I felt when I was a kid playing this on my PSX one on my 21 inches TV. Man, nothing gives me that sensation anymore... I'm 27 now, and I LOVE THIS GAME!!!

  • @SatelliteVladimir AGREED Vladimir. And yet this franchise seems to keep breathing new life every few years in a game format or movie. The 2nd game to me was by the far best so far, imagine it, Twilight Zone esque wouldnt you say? Silent Hill is a place you go when your being judged for something in your past. Very cerebral.

  • @SatelliteVladimir

can't agree with you more man. I'm 22 and I still like the classics like these. You don't see them make it like it used to. I bought silent hill 1 on the psn store. Got some good chills playing it, even when I'm at this age lol.

  • @SatelliteVladimir

Your comment is filled with pure nostalgia soul!

    my hat's off..

  • @SatelliteVladimir agree with you men this game is a legend in the other silent hill like 2 and 3 :) miss the old days playing this and gives me nightmare :D ( sorry for the english )

  • @Unblacken

Survival horror did not start with "Sweet Home". There were several horror games released before it. One of the most noted is Haunted House which was released in 1982 whereas Sweet Home was released in 1989, so your statement is slightly incorrect. And the main differences between Resident Evil & Silent Hill is that Resident Evil is just monsters coming out of closets to grab you. Silent hill plays with the mind and shows some terrifying imagery that is not seen in Resident Evil.

  • @AWonderingWarrior you're wrong. HH was the 1st horror game not the 1st SH game. sweet home was the 1st to take a shot as a game with horrifying content with story and animation. all the true Survival horror games took stuff of what sweet home already did such as the mansion setting, the emphasis on survival, solving puzzles, using items stored in a limited inventory while battling or escaping from horrifying creatures, which could lead to permanent death for any characters, multiple endings etc

  • me servira para mi video gracias!!

  • - please, whats the name of this track in Silent Hill ? >> watch?v=8zl17L0mSPA

  • @pressdesign hometown by akira yamaoka

  • Resident evil utilizes surprise scare tactics, while Silent hill uses psychological aspects to frighten the player. I like both, but imo silent hill is more disturbing.

  • que juego tan chido, lastima que ya casi no se juega

  • que video tan perron, dire, que intro tan perron

  • silent hill scares me more

  • poor mrs. mason...

  • I LOVE SILENT HILL

  • F all your comments, just enjoy the damn song. we all know RE and SH are both amazing games.

  • what the heck is this song called

  • @0123silverchaos012 This song is simply titled "Silent Hill". The remix/updated version of this song is called "Hometown", which was part of the Silent Hill 3 soundtrack (which is also a direct sequel to SH1).

  • your not a gamer if you dont like resident evil or silent hill. survival horror fan or not those franchises are amazing. if you havent played either then you need to try them out

  • god long ass comments (WTF moment for me)

  • WTF... these silent hill games are confusing... because this intro ive seen on my ps1 demo disk about 5-7 years ago and look at the graphics here is this on ps1? because the other silent hill games are on ps2 which the graphics look horribly wrong :S

  • Four words. Best. Fucking. Game. Ever.

  • Whoever came up with the silent hill series, my congratz to you, this is an amazing series and an amazing and innovative concept , 100% completely original props to you!!

  • Okay whoever said Resident evil is a wannabe scary game is a fucking Idiot. 1st of all Survival Horror started with an old game called "Sweet Home" for the Nes or famicon. That game was created by Capcom. Capcom created RE. Resident evil Obviously borrowed those elements from it, not to mentioned Silent Hill borrowed elements from it as well. I don't get why people have to be such Bigots with their favorite games because Both RE and SH are amazing. Both are scary (n00bs who haven't played RE)

  • @Unblacken I played Resident Evil. It was a fleshy chunk of piss-poor voice-acting, cheesy dialogue, horrendous story, and repetitive puzzles. It wasn't fun to play, it didn't tell an interesting story, and it wasn't scary. The only thing in that game that I ever worried about was running out of ink wells, and being afraid of a game's shitty mechanics doesn't count.

  • @jmarr100 first RE came out in 1996, way before silent hill. give it a break. Even though it did have terrible acting it was still a very good game that influenced many survival horror games. It's honestly the game that truly created survival horror and even redefined it later on. It even influenced Silent Hill except Silent Hill retard. And your judging the very first RE? that's just sad. I'd tell you to play other RE games such as RE Remake but you have too much of a little kid attitude.

  • @Unblacken Oh, this is rich. The brat with the third grade typing skills and only rudimentary knowledge of syntax is calling me childish. First off: the genre wasn't truly created by Resident Evil, it was truly created by the original Alone in the Dark, which RE takes most of its cues from. Second: turning a subtle, scary genre into yet another action-shooting mania genre doesn't count as redefining. Third: RE1, and all subsequent RE games before RE4, were a pain to play, and simply bad.

  • @jmarr100 haha you sound like a smug asshole. I'd love to meet the guy who says "rudimentary knowledge of syntax" in a real conversation just so i can punch his condescending face. I made 1 grammar mistake. GET OVER YOURSELF! You trolls always turn to grammar nazism on youtube when you guys are getting owned. You want to give the impression that "you know what you are talking" about, but you clearly don't. Sweet Home is the real father of survival horror. Check it out. AITD is just a forefather.

  • @Unblacken Regardless of whether or not Sweet Home is the father of survival horror, Alone in the Dark was the father of the specific style of survival horror that Resident Evil was aping. In any event, the father of survival horror was NOT Resident Evil.

  • @jmarr100 dude i dont care. leave me alone and go argue with someone else :) as you can see i fooled you

  • @Unblacken To expound on your final point: what exactly is sad about judging the first Resident Evil? It was bad, and I want to say so. The remake didn't fix any of the problems with the original, either, and all the DS version did was add obnoxious touch screen gimmicks. Resident Evil 2 was as ungainly as the first. RE3 didn't even put on the pretense of survival horror, and RE4 had almost nothing to do with the other games, or even the genre. They were all awful, as were Outbreak and RE5.

  • @jmarr100 lastly RE did redefined survival horror by adding more action elements. Just took a lot of horror out but i didn't care cause it was still badass...and so did millions of people, that's why it was game of the year for 2005. Re4 alone inspired many horror games as well as action games such as dead space and gears of war. Haha you just wanna hate RE and bitch about it to someone on youtube. If you wanna argue, argue with me in person so you'd get your ass handed to you in person mate :)

  • @Unblacken please don't troll silent hills intro. I love this game and RE. I hate when both sides fight

  • @cradleofjade haha what? i wasn't arguing? i was just stating facts that a certain "Idiot who thinks he's intelligent" needed to know. I love Resident evil and silent hill as well. Can't wait for the new silent hill game in late 2011 :) Resident Evil is having a bunch out too this year. Hope they kick ass

  • @Unblacken See, that's my exact point. ACTION IS NOT SURVIVAL HORROR, AND SURVIVAL HORROR IS NOT ACTION. Survival horror, as a rule, MUST BE SCARY, and it stops being scary when you replace all of the pacing with action. If you want to see how survival horror is done, look no further than Amnesia or Penumbra, where there is no combat and you must sneak, avoid, and hide your way through the game. That's what scary is. Helplessness.

  • @jmarr100 i love you :) u were fun to mess with. now fuck off and leave RE alone
