Raja maybe a genius. But this particular BGM was noted to be composed by Rahman. It was well known that many great beats, tunes and BGMs made by ARR when he was with Raja were never properly attributed to ARR. Raja took the credit.
Comparing IR and ARR is the most childish thing to do in my opinion. To me, IR is like going to the ocean .. you will simply be left breathless by the depth and vastness of the ocean .. as some one put it, my (extremely limited) musical knowledge is due to that ocean! I stand indebted to the ocean. As someone said, I have cried, laughed, enjoyed and grown up with IR's music. Rahman is not talented any less .. its just that its not right to compare the two greats!

With today's technological advancement, the making of digital music is possible with just a click of the mouse. The entire credit goes to the composer. Anyone who knows rythm programming can do it using the musical score sheet. ARR is a genius in his own way. But IR is the real genius who can write the entire musical score sheet for soul stirring musical piece without the assistance of any computer.

Raja maybe a genius. But this particular BGM was noted to be composed by Rahman. It was well known that many great beats, tunes and BGMs made by ARR when he was with Raja were never properly attributed to ARR. Raja took the credit.

i guess all of u know that ARR was a keyboard player in the troop of Ilaiyaraja.. he has worked with IR in many of his films..
and in 1992, ARR showed the world wat he was with his debut film Roja.. Roja's soundtrack was listed as one of the top ten in the world..!!! :-)
IR n ARR are the TOP 2 music composers in India..!!!

Comparing IR and ARR is the most childish thing to do in my opinion. To me, IR is like going to the ocean .. you will simply be left breathless by the depth and vastness of the ocean .. as some one put it, my (extremely limited) musical knowledge is due to that ocean! I stand indebted to the ocean. As someone said, I have cried, laughed, enjoyed and grown up with IR's music. Rahman is not talented any less .. its just that its not right to compare the two greats!

IR is 65 and OscAR Rahman is 43. ARR has 25 filmfare, a bafta, a golden globe and TWO Oscars awards.
Nobody could even dream of beating OscAR Rahman in the whole of India.
He is now competing against John Williams who has 5 Oscars in his 60 year career!

The answer to all these wonderful acheivements of ARR is that he has good marketing skills which IR lacks..but IR is above anyone..he is the mastero...When you hear IR songs you can feel all the emotions but not in ARR...but I respect that he made India Proud...but no comparison to IR...

I read an article on the eve of Ir's birthday that " Music turns 66". That itself tells the value of our legend. Do you acknowledge talent only based on no of awards being accredited or the talent that moves you entirely to a different zone??? That never interpret ARR lacks in that. Winning Oscars alone never show caliber, Kamal hassan has never won an Oscar does that infer he's inferior in acting? IR needs no such awards He has so much of respect and love from all of us(IR die hard fans)

@ensync ARR worked with Illayaraja in Punnagai Mannan(1986), Agni Nachatiram(1987) ,Vikram(1988) Kathal Parisu(1988) Although credits were not given to Dileep(ARR) in those albums. In 1988 ARR left Illayaraja troupe along with his childhood friend who is also a percussionist Sivamani. This is what happened to ARR n Sivamani they were not acknowledged for their works with Ilayaraja especially Punnagai mannan theme, dont talk blindly as if you conducted this music and you saw how it was composed

Those who criticize Kamal, it was a transition period for him from a good to a great artiste. He still keeps saying he is a student! But even at that time, his acting could not be parred by anyone! Kamal and Rajini are two Giants of the Industry. Youngsters can learn from them, but can't emulate them, critics!

Not exactly.. This music was composed by Ilayaraja but was played on the keyboard by ARR.. ARR was the keyboardist of Raja when he was very young.. This is according to my knowledge..
