  • polygamus 1 I know what he must have felt like seeing a person you knew that had gone thru tjat experience !! I served on the LST 570 during the war and visited my brother-in-law who was in the 3rd. Marine Div. on guam before the island was completely secured.! We also were in the invasion of Luzon and Okinawa as well as resupplying Leyte at the Tacloban air strip !!

  • PHILIPPINES-AMERICA BEST FREIND EVER!!!!

  • i wish this mission is in codwaw

  • my brother-in-law who was in the 3rd marine div. ,to this day will not buy anything made in japan.

  • @amphibLST570

    Understandable

  • @ghostdivision7 When a lot of Americans were driving Jap cars he was driving American also German or Swedish cars. He just could not understand why Americans would buy Japanese products. He was in the invasions of Bougainville and Guam with the 3rd Marine Div. and ended up with a chronic case of Malaria till the day he died in 2000.

  • @amphibLST570 it was a documentary on Channel 4 UK3 one hour doc, i taped it n then gave it to a mate who's father inlaw was a japanese prisoner he told me he could only watch few minutes a time then gpo to the kitchen have a drink smoke n come back to watch some more one time hhe regogniosed a mate of his n he couldn't stop cryibg my mate said for ages after he Never even Got in a japanese car n refused to own anything made in japan that applied to my mate he respected himfor it

  • 2:30 did I hear him say "irregardless"!? Surely he means "regardless". Idiot.

  • @e102ewan

Glad someone else knows that 'irregardless' is not a word. I hear it all the time and it really bothers me. I hear someone say it and I think the same thing you do: idiot.

  • @e102ewan i think you misunderestimated him.

  • I am still curious to know the identity of the american soldier that died in à cave near our house in northern Luzon. His Helmet and Gun and im sure his dog tag is still with him with his bones..My grandmother dont want us to Disturb him(its kind of à belief not to Disturb the dead while they rest.)We make sure though to clean the outside of the cave and we planted flowers around...We keep him in our prayers always.Whoever he is he is one of these heroes who liberated us from the Japs!!Thank u

  • @igorotausa1 Thank you; I am sure that his family would have appreciated your respect.

  • Respond to this video... Our ship the LST570 participated in this invasion on jan 9th 1945 and is listed by the Philippine Gov. as eligible for the Philippine Presidential Unit Citation.

  • Wtf happend with those 150 k japenese men in the north? The Japs were really brave and also the americans and Philp. But if i would have the command over the japs army on Luzon i would use it ahead better. I not saying that im on the side of the japs, but they warent so good on defence. They used to many dum Banzai attacks... But thank god that the allies won!!

  • LOL fucking japs! they blast those ancient wall that spanish built FUCKERS

  • pause at 0:57. osamas side view face.

  • @chocoman45 exactly!

  • Ya Filipinos fought this war too and no one remembers? why? well that's what happens if your just a colony nobody gives a shit about you but i have great respect for the world war 2 generation Filipinos their english was bad (commonwealth accent) but they were fucking men if the American trusted us earlier in the war we along with the Phil. division that made the USAFFE the won personally i blame both government for the pacific war its in the history books

  • i just wish that they could also narrate the casualties filipino guerila fighting force and civilian volunteers. we should remember that not only the g. is. sacrificed for "their" war

  • Anyone and I mean anyone who criticizes U.S. action in the pacific is a ignorant moron, who doesn't know his ass from his elbow. All the blame for the death and destruction lies with the Imperial japanese government at the time and the emperor. He lacked the courage to tell those radical army fucks that he did not want this war but he was to weak to tell them. Of course winning victories in the first couple of years didn't help his wish for peace ether. but it all really lies on his shoulders.

  • the philippines was still colony UP TILL NOW

  • Talk anything you wan't about the US gov. But leave the solidiers, they were not fighting for them, for the ultimate defeat of Japan, every time they were fighting for their lives. Most of you would shit their pants if he just could be there. If someday there will be a war I hope you will be on the 1 line an you will be tested to the limits of humanity. I'm quite sure you will not care that the arty is killing civils among you can kill your enemies.

  • Another thing the japs wouldn't have given a shit if the Philippines would have been neutral, they invaded China, Indochina, Indonesia, and every fcken island around the PHilippines, and the Philippines where important for them even if neutral or not for their communications to its important oil from southeast Asia.

  • WOOOOW, purehuman all the civilians killed in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Somalia, Kuweit, Iraq, dont even combine to the total the Germans murdered during WWII in EUrope or the Japs in China moron, im not even american and you make me laugh with youre worst dictator in history. And why do you think the Americans brought war in Asia, hmmmm i'll give you a date to remember maybe it will help you, December 7, 1941, blame Japan for what America has become, its the one who woke them up.

  • Every war has been by design for the profit of those who design it. America's imperialism began before the 20th century in the Philippines. Under whose rule? The Roman Catholic Church. Every time they are hindered, America comes to the rescue under the facade of freedom. The same occurred in Vietnam. When the French left we took their banner under the auspices of freedom. But the fact remains that there is no freedom for those victimized by its abuse. Therefore Rome: WWI, WWII, WWIII, is guilty.

  • They did mention the artillery was used on Manila during this "liberation", but didn't mention the number of civilians killed by it, etc, etc. 65 years on and they're still making propaganda videos. Two-faced bastards!

  • atomic bomb for them.

  • the U.S. Gov't called it FREEDOM when back HOME their BANKER's profit to this WAR... hehe. U.S. Gov't BUDGET ON WAR FAR EXCEED all other COUNTRIES GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT.

  • the U.S. Gov't is worst on ALL DICTATOR in WORLD HISTORY COMBINED. how many INNOCENT CIVILIANs they killed in VIETNAM, AFGHANISTAN, IRAq, KUWAIT, SOMALIA... among others....?

  • we where better well OFF if the U.S. gov't didnt interven in ASIAn forming of its economy & VALUES.

why the U.S. GOV'T bring its WAR in the PHILIPPINES and not in their COUNTRY??!?!?!

a NUETRAL PHILIPPINES wont give them any REASON to wage WAR against JAPANESE.

U.S. Gov't knows the ART OF HOW TO PROVOKE OTHER COUNTRY.

  • i wished they also hoisted the philippine flag on corregidor island...

  • colonial hubris won't let them do that...

  • filipino is bias to the american

  • Proud to be FILIPINO!!!!

  • The Japs were even worse than the Nazis in treatment of the other Asians they were supposed to be saving from colonialism. htey murdered millions of Chinese with no qualms at all.

  • a Japanese i knew years ago said to me they used to infect trillions of mosqitos n then drop them in bombs over chinese cities to save bullets what he Never mentioned was how they infected the mosqitos in Camp 732 they usedto infectorisoners n when the infection took over cut them open cut their livers n force other chinese to eat their liver to get them highly infected No aneashetic of course the BBC not some BS news i was speechless when i saw that then mosqitos left to feed on them prisoners

  • @polygamous1 The story of those awful camps was suppressed for 50 years because the US Army cut a deal with the Japanese after WW ll: Give us all your research notes and data and we won't try you for war crimes. If they did try them, then the Soviets would've grabbed the data. Thankfully the Jap's awful idea of using mosquitos & fleas to spread the black plague didn't work too well

  • @jakefree25 it was First on the BBC the reason i believed it camp 731 the most shocking attrocities commited on earth from imperial japan to poor peasant chinese prisoners also the Rape of NanKin just hope it Never ever happens on earth again by ANY country against any country

  • MANILA 2nd only to WARSAW as the most DEVASTATED allied city in WW2. Proud to be Filipino!

  • Staingrad

  • FOR WHAT REASON did the Japanese slautherd those filipinos??

  • FOR NO REASON AT ALL

  • @DutchPetriot They enjoyed killing people, like the Rape of Nanking, they were crazed with blood lust.

  • @DutchPetriot from the Japanese high command.,., they just ordered to kill all people in the city., including americans,.

  • All greedy invader like British, German, French, Jap cause ugly war to world...humanity is gone in war..end of the war no country gain any benefit of invadsion..end up with property... it was terrible mistake ppl in world misuse technology, resource n manpower

  • A free nation........ = _= That's why they hung up the AMERICAN FLAG and not the philippine flag, right? Gimme a break

  • maybe thats the only thing they had, its better seeing a american flag i better than a jap flag.

  • ^_^ You're very kind. ∩_∩ I know what you're trying to say,but we were a colony of the USA. But thank you for protecting them. ^_~ However US American troops left the country only in 1992. Until today they treat us like a colony. I find this documentary badly researched. They mispronounce all place names. And left out the crimes the Americans had done to Filipinos during WW2, like the Manila Bombing.

  • you guys are still a colony, were do you suplys come from???

  • Supplies... You mean food and stuff? I'm not sure I understand your question.

  • weapons

  • Oh that. Yes, I wouldn't consider the fact that weapons come from a certain region a part of colonialism. I mean, a lot of people obtain their weapons from Germany, but they aren't colonies. But you're right in a way. Phil. police and Military only have weapons built in the USA.

  • The Philippine flag as we know it, was designed in 1897. And it was used during the Philippine American War. The Americans had copies of it. If they had respect for us, they would've used it.

  • the phlippines was still a colony of us til 1946

  • I know. That's why the "free nation" is a false statement made by the people who created the documentary.

  • nice video.. thnx for the upload :)

  • Die japs

  • thanks to the author of this video ive seen the real video of the history of our country....

a very big thanks hope this video will be prserve so that the modern filipino can what is the his tory of our country.......... so many people sacrifice just for freedom....... hope it will give value the new age filipino

  • I love these LOST EVIDENCE series of WW2. These series should remind everyone the sacrifice those men made. God Bless Them!

  • Too bad that they had to destroy the old fort.

  • Intramuros still exists, in fact, most of the wall still stands, along with a reconstruction of the inner pre-WWII Spanish colonial town as part of a tourism / historical preservation effort.

Its also a well-known landmark in modern-day Manila, and a common one to pass by to work too, considering the roads around Intramuros are busy rush-hour traffic-packed 2-lane roads taking 4-lane traffic.

How do I know? I live here :)

  • 'reconstructions' meaning its a new one. ALL the buildings in that fort are destroyed by the americans!

  • well 90% of the buildings inside and outside the fort's wall has been destroyed, true, but the wall itself stands, even with the WWII bomb craters still in them. Most of them werent patched up unless they posed a risk to surrounding buildings, and even some of them have plaques describing when it happened, what caused the bomb crater, etc.
