yes the tv has only 720p but you still get better quality with the hdmi cord versus the rca cables.

only the the 40 inch models of the dynex come with 1080p so no point in using the hdmi cord for 720p or 1080i the component cords would do just fine

Well, I was to, but I knew my xbox supported HDMI, yours should to.

HDMI carries video, audio, all threw one cable.

I personally think the quality is MUCH better, and I'm not sure if component cables (I assume thats what your using) even support 1080i, or 1080p.

1080p in my opinion whips the fuck out of 720p.

That's just my opinion.

And you should get less lag with the HDTV as well :D

If I were you, I think I would stick with the 24 inch.

And my TV stand is probably about 3 inches maybe?

But yeah, I think the 24 inch would be more casual.

And you may get less lag with the controller, watch what HDTV's you buy.

Actually I do alot better on a crappy TV.

The only reason is because MOST HDTV's have a 5ms response time.

So it really hurts my sniping in some cases...I guess I'll have to get used to it.

The casual gamer won't realize a difference.

the xbox actually isn't even 1080p its max output is 1080i. It just emulates 1080p but in reality its identical to 1080i just blown bigger. Seems all like a waste of money to me when a high end gaming pc would be a LOT more fun if you have the money. Graphics like 200x better and just more competative

It probably does. There are quite a few things to watch out for when buying a HDTV.

You are exactly right. My HDTV doesn react a bit slower, but you have to get used to it.

Almost every HDTV has a 5ms response time, which is quite noticeable in fast paced first person shooters.

But I am very used to it.

Btw, did you use an HDMI cable?

That helps the lag by ALOT.

And if you change the settings to crappy 480p it will react MUCH faster.

But your right, I play alot better on my shitty 21 year old TV :D
