  • Cryptozoology novel about two boys who find something strange on the beach one night see video book trailer

  • @dltanner99 - er... what has this to do with my video?

  • Something like that could be the genesis of the Loch Ness Monster legend.

  • @stewartgrangerfan76 - Yes, I guess so! I've heard it been said before that the snake-like body 'loops' that arch out of the water on many a Nessie photograph could well be the rapid diving and resurfacing of a pack of (regular European) otters instead. I guess it could also be that there were even larger otters around in pre-historic times and thus one would suffice!

I prefer the Plesiosaur theory myself... or even the troup of swimming circus elephants suggestion!

    Cheers for your comment!

  • What is it eating? A fish?

  • I believe so, Devourer. I seem to recall being told that the adults can scoff upwards of 4 to 5 kilograms of fish A DAY... that's over 10% of their bodyweight!

  • Those things are a little scary looking. :o

  • They're certainly a tad uglier than the smaller otters of the world I have to say... and I'm not sure I'd want to be swimming near a wild one (seeing that they're 6 feet long and weigh as much as an Alsatian!)... but I still like them! ;-)

  • This is at Lago Sandoval if I am not mistaken

  • Thanks for the guess Chris! However, I filmed this in the Manu reserve and, if memory serves me, it was Cocha Salvador. Isn't Sandoval in the Tambopata reserve? Did you get good views of otters there too?
