do you have enough ram to record your videos to a tmpfs mount? it would GREATLY reduce the amount of needed interrupts and would really help decrease the jittering and increase the fps in your recordings.
If you have 4gb+ of ram, you should theoretically be able to do it.. as long as you're only recording a few minutes of footage.
I only have 2 GB RAM and it really don't need any more. And even if I had 4 GB, the fact is that you don't come far with 2-3 GB space for RecordMyDesktop. And it feels really unneccessary to have like 6-8 GB RAM just for that. :)
