but i find this as tactic incredibly cheap.

It defeats the purpose of doing a No Upgrade because you're basically playing cheap and fighting easy way. Which is using the dogs:/.

If you are looking for a real challenge- you'll do a No Upgrade & fight head 2head:)

I've seen people with crazy skills in GOW3. Doing endless combos too:P

You are good but not that good. If you are that good, you'll fight head2head and use golden fleece:)

So i'm gonna assume you just have to get lucky when trying to knock the Satyr's in the air with the Boots of Hermes cuz i tried many times but I only got it to work once. Is there a secret to this technique?

@garra1992 If u practice a little bit in the arena u'll find that the Satyrs are only vulnerable to knock-downs(including the boots) when it is NOT moving; for example, taunting, little warm-up-like jumping, and whirling its blade. Use the boots at that time and it'll be launched into air

My cousin and I did a run like this but we added one notch to make it harder. We put on Aphrodite's Garter so we would have the Athena's Blades instead of the blades of Exile since they are the weakest weapon in the game and we only switched weapons if the battle gave you no choice like the scorpion or hercules etc.. Made it to the scorpion. It was a crazy run getting there too.

My experience in GOW3 Chaos mode is as difficult as Master Ninja in NG games (except cheap NG2).

Even though I'm using all upgrades, I'm still fighting them head 2 head rather than using cheap easy method like this guy's using.

Anyone looking for a challenge in GOW3 should try Chaos Mode!

@ShenasRI head2head as in using all your wits. Like fighting with the blades of exiles+claws of hades, countering with golden fleece, blocking, dashing, grabbing, using the bow, head of helios etc

he's just using the dogs at an advantage and just dashing around.

for an example I used bow of apollo to beat Hades.

This is my first run on Chaos mode.

if I run on Chaos mode again I will use bow of apollo as my of my combo when fighting hades head2head.

Chaos mode is hard like Master Ninja

Defeated this bastard yesterday on Chaos mode WITH upgrades....and it took me a while....i agree with you, it's the hardest point of the game, like "First translator" in GoW2 or the clones in GoW1....When I'll do it withouth upgrades i hope not to go out of head...

Why don't you use the Gorgon Serpent and statue the satyrs? I found this the only applicable method of destroying the dog on Chaos Mode!

This kinda looks silly! No Health Upgrades, No Magic Upgrades, no weapon upgrades? And you are taking on the big bad dog on CHAOS mode? Shit, this dog's hard on the TITAN mode with all weapons upgraded! Anyways, I did my playthrough on CHAOS mode with the dog, by now, my health and magic were fully upgraded! He was too damn hard! I realized I had to think a wicked trick to win this battle! So I switched on the COH, SUMMONED the GORGON SERPENT and there you go, the dog is finally bested!

Skillfully done, though i wouldnt rip off the second head if the first Satyr was still alive..i cant take 2 satyrs AND the big bad dog at once, but you just have done it..very nice work.

Aside from being glad to see the Claws in action (im a big fan of the Claws) noticed something that i didnt before...the double claw slam actually hits additional hits alittle longer after the explosion. well played.

@GoIdLeopard Dude, if you kill the first Satyr before ripping off the second head, then TWO fresh Satyrs will spawn after ripping off the head. If you do it my way, you keep the first Satyr alive so you only face one fresh Satyr and one weakened Satyr.

@hunterelf Rage of Sparta is crap. It does very little to damage to the HCB. Army of Sparta is also crap. Nemesis Rage is a much better spell to use. You can use Nemesis Rage from long range, and it can electrocute multiple enemies at once. This isn't a speed run, so I don't give a fuck about how long it takes to beat the fight, but if you want to beat it faster, go ahead and make vid.

No maybe i ve not explain well, in phase 1 i kick the dogs and use the apollo'bow when the cerberus is stunned, in this way i hit him staying away and without hit me, in phase 2, you right, i've used the gorgon's gaze but without upgrade the weapons it's impossibile.

However with my method and confrontation really simple and does not take much time either

is too long in this way, try this:

use the Apollo's bow when you're out and kick the dogs to the Cerberus

then when you reach the satyrs used for Gorgon's gaze petrified

after the second head, use the olympus wrath Cerberus to finish, then you can kill 2 satyrs been petrified or with other weapons

@PSLchris90 Apollo's bow is not so good in phase 1, because the bow auto-targets the dogs. And even when you're targeting the HCB, sometimes the dogs get in the way of your shots. You don't want to shoot the dogs, because you want to kick them.

In phase 2, I can't use Gorgon's gaze because you only acquire that spell if you upgrade the Claws, and this is a no upgrade run :p

@n3obuddha Yeah, it was just my luck that the taunting wasn't very frequent in stage 2. I think maybe I wasn't being as aggressive and consistent with my s,s,t combos in this vid. I was feeling self-conscious and I didn't want to be too aggressive and get hit. I wanted this to be a no-hit vid (apart from using Rage of course).

S2 - I'd rather target the Satyr. Without Whelps, with the Satyr away from the HCB and both outside attack range, I can get on the altar or otherwise use 'running at the edge' antics to get taunts out of them.

Personally, I don't like Satyr interference when I do the kicks.

S3 - Going apeshit for the last bit I see. I see light usage of the AI trick

@BigVEE When I beat the HCB on my first Chaos NUR+, I blew all my magic and rage in phase 2. It feels so much more satisfying to save it all for phase 3. Then you can just cut loose and feel confident that the worst is behind you.

Though I lack a firm grasp of lvl1 values for weapons other than the Blades, I can guess at the Chaos + lvl1 values. I imagine t3 would be (roughly) 11.5 damage on Normal. On Chaos, that would be (approx) 8.625. Of course, things would clear up faster if I did testing all over again with lvl1 shit throughout the main game since start at lvlMAX in this outing is the only option and they opted out of simply having 1.0/2.0/3.0 for subs. The have them climb by odd percentiles.

@shinobier Yeah I quite like the Claws. As soon as I get them, I never use the Blades of Exile again (except for combat grapples to knock enemies off cliffs). But as soon as I get the Cestus, I stop using the Claws, except against the HCB.

At 4:38 you can see how the Satyr and the HCB sometimes go into a cycle of taunting when you use the s,s,t combo with the CoH.
