Music is music, what you need to know is everyone respects what artists right doing a cover and changing a couple of words doesnt put it to shame. Learn music and do research. Althought I hate her, I do believe that if she would try to make some songs with more quality, she could change the whole music industry. I mean, those last 12-15 years are the worst of music history! Imagine a Lady Gaga singing and creating those kind of songs, wouldn't she be wonderful? I remember the first time I heard Maddy do that; it was this tv show she'd done where she and Rupert Everett were driving around NYC and Jersey talking about "back in the day", and she was sitting there talking about being from Jersey while assuming that crazy Anglo accent, and it was just ridicu-silly. I don't know how Rupert Everett dealt with that. Glad it's gotten a bit relaxed over the years.

Lady Gaga is a very unique and creative individual. She is like a chameleon. She can adapt to any style of music that was ever created and make it her own. Gaga has the ability that many musicians don't possess. I wish that there was a word that is more greater than the word "talented". Even original artists that wrote their songs, and those whom cover them, will or will not do improv during live performances. In this instant, she chose a very famous song to parallel the reason for their assembly at that particular event. Hasn't Bono changed some of his lyrics to pay tribute to some or to bring up valid points? He does it quite often. It's music and art, let it go. The examples of others are numerous. I'm not arguing for anything, just wanted to point out the obvious.

@EtoileLituanienne She changed the lyrics in order to fit the context of equal rights. When John Lennon wrote "Imagine," he was writing it during the Vietnam war. He wrote it at a time when we were fighting each other. I'm sure that if equality for people who are homosexual was something talked about when he wrote this song, there's a good chance he would've wrote it for them. In regards to her singing, you can't expect her to sing exactly like John Lennon. Lennon was Lennon, Gaga is Gaga.
