neither you or mariushades have obviously heard a ducati or R1 in person...they sound nothing alike. the R1 is definitely the best sounding bike out of all 4-cylinder bikes, but still doesn't come close to the sound of the Ducati V-twin

where do you get all these BS stats at?? yamaha R1 MSRP: $13,700....Ducati 1198 MSRP: $16,500, or $13,000 if you get the 848evo. generally Ducati is a little more expensive but not by a factor of 3 like you said. And there is a good reason for the higher price: better sound, better looks, lighter, more power...overall a better bike than an R1 or any other jap bike

@lnromandude Go to the Akrapovic web site and compare the big four with the Duc. Those numbers arnt made up, they might be a little high but its all done on the same dyno and the Duc is the lowest.

@lnromandude Thats a joke right? R1's have the worst mid range power ever, 04 and up at least. Kaw had 160 rwhp in 06. Duc are only know for their low range grunt not top end, one of the only Duc's to have power like the jap bikes was the 1098R for 40k and needed 3-4k in parts to get all of the power(peak was in the 160's at 10k which the hp curve was still going up which is why it needed the add on's to increase the rev limiter). BMW, Kaw and the GSX-R will shit on the 1198 for 4k less.

I ride on the street so I want a street bike, so theres no need to pay almost 17k plus the higher maint. cost for a slower bike. Theres no point in going on, ur a dumb ass.

@lnromandude Ducati"s are track bikes, not good for the street, lots of Duc riders say that, not a bike thats fun to sit on for any amount of time. I know how to read a dyno but its clear you dont. Some how you see how Akrapovic dynoed all those bikes with and without their systems which the Ducati had the lowest peak power which you said in one of your comments that it was the most powerful bike other than the BMW. The Duc is fast just not enough to make up for a 30 hp difference. Im done!
