How come when the cycle reverses into heat mode, the refigerant lines are able to work effectively being the liquid line now becomes the suction line or am I missing something. Why do we have a bigger and a smalller tubing if it can work in the opposite manner and still work effectively?
The expansion valve had three copper pipes leading in, two large size and one very small diameter. Is the third a pressure feedback device to automatically adjust the diameter of the aperture? Which tube was that?
beside i am not a good english speaker, i can`t hear you because the hard noise of the pump. However, it`s a good attemp to explain. thanks from mexico.
actually it is faster to recover the refrigerant in the vapor side of the recovery tank, because the refrigerant does not have the go through the dip tube on the liquid side it was just spray into the top of the tank
Good video presentation. Can you explain installation of solenoid valves on refrigeration system with hot gas bypass. please show details about direction and position of installation
Dr Z EXCELLENT REVIEW ON A HEAT PUMP CYCLE! THAT RIGHT SIDE IS SO BIG A HOMELESS PERSON COULD CRIB OUT IN THEIR. CHANGE OUT THAT FILTER DRYER MUST BE A FUN.
Maybe it's just the camera mic that makes the recovery noise sound so loud, but for a person who works in this high a noise level, do you ever wear ear protection?

@deyenak1 The smaller tubing is always the liquid line and the larger tubing always carries vapor no matter whether it's running in heat or cooling.
DrZarkloff 11 months ago
You said at the expansion valve it becomes super heated vapor ---- did you mean super cooled? I assume you got rid of all the heat at the condenser.
1bengrubb 1 year ago
@1bengrubb The refrigerant collects heat at the evaporator, hence the refrigerant becomes superheated.

@spelunkerd The small tubing is the external equalising tube.

Believe it or not, Fujitsu ductless heat pumps would do very well up there.

Cant they make silent recovery units ? The one you currently have sounds like its about to fall apart and/or blow up.

Thanks Doc! Is that some kind of water jacket around the condensing fan motor or just a bracket holding it up? Sorry, not a tech...
richgriffin77 2 years ago
It's just a bracket holding it up.
