No teen should be having sex in the first place. It's all about how their parents are raising their kids. When you have a parent who makes you do chores to occupy your time instead of letting them go out all the time, they have less of a chance of having their kid come home telling them that they are pregnant. @unoiamacutie there are higher teen pregnancy rates and new std infection rates on kids who were taught abstinence only than with kids who were given comprehensive sex ed because it covered everything and they have proven that when they are given comprehensive sex ed they postpone their sexual activity until they are older and are more likely to use protection then people who were taught abstinence only. I think teen pregnancy is wrong yes.. but.. not all teen mothers get depression after having the child nor can take care of then any less than a mother who is an adult.. I think there is a sort of stereotype when it comes to teen pregnancy.. some girls do just fine with children, and no I never got pregnant as a teen.. but I knew a couple ppl who did. There should be more detail in statistics. Once you turn 18, you can get married, and there are many who do, and THEN have children. Yet, 18 and 19 is still included in the teen pregnancy statistic. Perhaps there should be a statistic just for pregnancies that occur before high school graduation. That would paint a more accurate picture.

these kids need to be taught safer sex and how to be safe and recieve comprehensive sex education which includes the emotions and feelings and that using condoms will save you a lifetime of misery. they should be taught about protection not just abstitence. Because that is where most of the teen pregnancies are coming from and new hiv infection rates are kids who were taught abstinence only and lower on kids who were taught comprehensive sex ed.

Obviously abstinence education isn't working. I think it's time to teach safe sex education instead... Teens aren't going to stop having sex overnight. It's just not going to happen. It's not enough anymore to just tell teens "Don't have sex." I think it's way more effective to tell them "Don't get pregnant. Use a condom. Use birth control." Most teen pregnancy comes out of ignorance. It's time to rethink sex education.

No teen should be having sex in the first place. It's all about how their parents are raising their kids. When you have a parent who makes you do chores to occupy your time instead of letting them go out all the time, they have less of a chance of having their kid come home telling them that they are pregnant. But still good idea.

@unoiamacutie there are higher teen pregnancy rates and new std infection rates on kids who were taught abstinence only than with kids who were given comprehensive sex ed because it covered everything and they have proven that when they are given comprehensive sex ed they postpone their sexual activity until they are older and are more likely to use protection then people who were taught abstinence only. Look at Europe they get complete sex education have have much lower rates than us.

It's the fact that once the baby actually shows up, nowadays most teens still have more things to do than just take care of a baby. friends, school, worrying about college, and still BEING a teenager. In high school we had a 17 year old girl with a baby who lived on a farm where it was unremarkable for a 16 year old to be pregnant. Another farm hand is always welcome. Kids are a HUGE burden in a city, for any parent.

I'm still in high school and I know that high school relationships never last, so I don't plan on keeping my boyfriend forever (don't think I want that kind of commitment anyway). I don't really what to get married, I just want a baby. I baby sit a lot, and I wish that I was the mommy. I crave that kind of relationship. I think teen pregnancy is wrong yes.. but.. not all teen mothers get depression after having the child nor can take care of then any less than a mother who is an adult.. I think there is a sort of stereotype when it comes to teen pregnancy.. some girls do just fine with children, and no I never got pregnant as a teen.. but I knew a couple ppl who did. I guess it all depend on if you have supportive family's or not..

There should be more detail in statistics. Once you turn 18, you can get married, and there are many who do, and THEN have children. Yet, 18 and 19 is still included in the teen pregnancy statistic. Perhaps there should be a statistic just for pregnancies that occur before high school graduation. That would paint a more accurate picture.

My mother was fifteen when she had me.
Its not always because the girl is a slut or is stupid.
Sometimes its because teens are unaware of the prevention methods. & Accidents do happen. I'm not saying I condone it. I've seen the difficulties my mother had to face raising me. Its not an easy lifestyle. & It can ruin relationships very quickly. My mother and father have both been married 3 times each. Its NEVER worth 3 minutes of sex in the end.

Their parents who babysit the kid.
But when you r a teen mom,and YOUR taking care of the child 100& WITHOUT anyones help...then you have the FULL RIGHT to say its okay.
Even if it hasnt RUINED your social life,DOESNT MEAN ITS OKAY.
It can turn into a BIG SCANDAL,and its NOT fun,people need a reality check.
When your still in college,its hard enough.
Then HANDLING a kid! AND having a job.

Im only 17, but i want a baby more then anything in this world. Ive been thinking about it for a year now and after spending some time with my friend who just had her first baby 5 months ago, i couldnt be more certain. Shes an amazing mom, the kind i plan on being when i get pregnant.
I think that most teens should have babies, but some are ready. I have no life, no interest in partying or anything. Im stably ready for one.
I dont think i should be judged for knowing what i honestly want.

thats great that you want to be a mom.. I am one its my life..but honestly look at something here.. do you have a great job at 17? if you had a child tomorrow could you give it anything and everything in the world...why not wait until you have achieved a great career...and can plan on being able to take that baby anywhere give them anything.. I am not judging you ..just giving you another option..

Guys they are not saying this will happen if you become pregnant. They saying that it's possible. I've known people who became mother a young age and said it wasn't the easiest thing in the world. Once u become a teen mom u are gonna be very busy and you're gonna give a lot of things that u love doing. Live your life as teen, we only experience that once. Teen pregnancy is never ok.

While I agree that teen pregnancy is an issue, I don't believe that it's this big terrible thing that'll ruin your future. I have a friend that finished high school with a two year old baby and is currently in college.
I hate movies like this, only because it seems thtat they are trying to make the issue look out of proportion.

It's very rare that a teen mother that becomes pregnant during highschool will actually graduate and move on to college, your friend is very lucky and obviously had a huge support system.

whoah whoah... as a teen mother myself.. you may be down and out that you cant go to the club..but you knew that the moment you let some guy have sex with u without a condom.. and going to mall should be last on your list if not never there at all.. no its not easy but life with my child is great YEAH i do bust my ass.. but its soo worth it..

I am 15 yrs old and I have an eight month old daughter. When I watch these kinds of videos, it's like people are portraying teen pregnancy and parenthood as a horrible thing that will end your social life. But I'd like to say that being a mom is not the most horrible thing in the world. And I don't think it's fair that that is how you like to put it out in the world.

You have a right to say "teen pregnancy is great!" when you're 15, have a baby and 100% pay for everything your brat needs.
Here's a newsflash: it was fun and didn't ruin your social life because Mummy and Daddy paid for everything, babysat your brat, put a roof over your head, drove you everywhere, paid for your medical, paid for your food and clothing and gave you anything you wanted,

I kinda know what you mean. One of my friend's girlfriend was pregnant, and I still talk to them on a regular basis. Saying that, being a 15 year old mom doesn't sound like the best thing in the world. You still have school to worry about and you have your baby. The fact that you have two hefty responsibilities will cut down on the things you want to do. Not necessarily saying your social life, but opportunities to enjoy life as a normal teenager where the only thing you have to worry about is u

But it is a very bad thing. I have a kid myself at seventeen, but we shouldn't be saying that it's ok. It's not easy. And not to be mean, but the majority of them won't be very successful because they are told that they can't be. I know it personally. Most of those girls just give up.
