In EQ you needed like a whole 10 minutes to recover from 1 fight at higher level, but we enjoyed it because its what makes a game hard, and that creates the thrill ! nowadays MMO p^layers are spoon fed pampered wuss who need maps fast travels, quick leveling and no downtime !

EQ was an auto-hit suckfest. It took absolutely 0 skill. You just had to waste a lot of time doing monotonous activities. I played AC (which was out around the same time), and that took real player skill. If you sucked at the casting mechanics, then you would get dominated. There's no thrill or challenge in sitting on your ass, you just need artificial challenge since you suck

EQ was auto click indeed but that isn't where difficulty came from : mobs would pummel you easily, they would chase you to the end of the zone, they would outrun you, recover time was huge, you had to mem spells prior to use them, you had no map, you had huge distances to run, you felt totally lost and and had to come back naked from death with huge exp penalties. Now go do your homework asshole !

Haha, you're talking about PvE being hard? Let's see you take down Anti Parazi or a good mage in AC. That's 10x harder than the artificially difficult PvE that you praise so much in EQ. You can hit w or the auto-run button to run from zone to zone from scary mobs, but if you tried to power slide, fast cast, or break animation to compete against a good mage in AC, you'd fail miserably.

You never played AC did you? That had PvP looting, temporary stat loss, twitch skills, and fights over town/dungeons, all of the shit that Darkfall claims to have. Yeah you do need to say more. Usually in the beginning of mmos you are forced to do tedious stuff and work your way up so you don't have to do them anymore. It's sort of like real life. If you were given the ability to do everything without any restraints at all it would kind of be unrealistic and you wouldn't feel the rewarding feeling of progression. My opinions at least.
