I saw Leon a week ago today in Pensacola, Florida. He still made my knees go weak and he totally rocked the house. Leon IS the music and long after we are all gone, his haunting melodies, beautiful lyrics and a voice like no one else, will be echoing through the universe --
What a FABULOUS combination of talent. Leon Russell, Willie Nelson, Maria Muldaur and Bobbie Raitt . . . four of the most talented people of their era.

@Matt24ishere Just wondering.Does Big Bill's estate get a piece of this?He wrote it in the late '40's,so it's probably not public domain yet.
Rap and techno constantly lift beats, riffs, and choruses, probably because of a lack of original musical talent. But a whole song?Hope Big Bill's family gets paid.
Riight. Right on. Leon. What is all this gumbamming and jawjackin about what he look like, at any time? You're not listening! Man is totally in charge, all thru his career. Get with it! Thass all f'now.
Leon is an older gentleman now...saw him in NYC awhile ago and he's not sending shivers down girl's spines these days. He walks with a walker and has a chronic illness which he talks about onstage.
@theodorodepangrazia I've seen Leon a few times in the past few years and I have to say it does not matter to me how old he is. His voice and attitude is still Leon. Flashes of the "old" Leon come through with his expressions, his banter with the crowd and just his being The Master of Space and Time makes him one of the cool to the bone people alive.
@judecreek2 You tell em! Leon is the essence of cool, I don't care how old he is, he is like a fine wine, he just gets better with age. The fact that he is 68 and still tours extensively, with his health problems, is a testament to the fact that his mind and soul are harmony and he is still the master of time and space. And yes he still sends a shiver down my spine! I saw him in November in Philly for the very first time, I was tingling all over!
Leon's not spine-tingling was noted by me when I attended a Leon Russell show last year at BB King's Bar in NYC. When analyzing an older artist who can't operate in the same way anymore, it's fair to recognize truth from fiction. Russell himself comments on his frailty, diseases and age on-stage. Russell himself would have criticized such a performance from someone else I'm sure, and an artist of his caliber should retire at this point.
@theodorodepangrazia Well 'sonny', acknowledging the realities of life is one thing - but there's a lot of road between not a spring chicken and retiring. In addition - Leon's audience is a lot more understanding than say - you.
I first watched this video last week. I IMMEDIATELY ordered a copy of the album. It is fantastic. It has 20 songs on it and costs only $6.99 from one of the usual suspects. BUY IT!
I have seen EVERY single person, that was on that stage, live and in person. I saw Maria Muldaur when she was singing backup for Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks. Mickey (probably spelled wrong) Rafael is one of the greatest harp players who ever lived. Great video.
OMG this is great! I adore Leon Russell, he is so fine and plays piano incredibly. Yes, his eyes are almost too much, but when I watch him sing........ it's wonderful. This is truly a super vid. To have Maria M. Bonnie R. & Leon together is a winning combo.
Finally, I've been searching for this one, a Leon Russell without his sun glasses on, and more recent than the 1970's. I'd love to see him play in person.
@Elin48 Oh, yeah, I know exactly what you mean. For more later Leon try his sessions with JJ Cale. My favorite is Corrine, Corrina". For that one you have to type in the search bar Leon Russel and JJ Cale "Corrine, Corrina". You will not be disappointed.
We get kind of used to hearing music of this quality. But you gotta realize, this is the best of the best. Just try playing a little slide like Bonnie does here. It can't hardly be done unless you have lived it. Was that a kazoo riff I heard right at the end? Whoa good stuff! Leon is going to be in Seattle this summer. I'm goin.
what an awesome foursome.....music narrows all bounderies...might be country, blues, rock, soul, no matter, all come together effortlessly........take note religion
is Willie = great! Bonnie, now that's my lady! What a guitarist and singer, she is. ..........................
Special thanks to rosesredvioletsblue for sharing this video with me and "Bravo", to the person who popsted this fantastic video of fine artists,as well.
I think they look wonderful: exactly like human beings with heart and experience. If you want something that looks and sounds like a piece of plastic, go watch someone else.
And oh yeah, this is the best version of this song I've heard so far, man. Beats Johnny Cash's, Janis Joplin's, Jerry Lee Lewis' and Nina Simone's versions right outta the fuckin' ballpark, dude!
I can't stand to look at Bonnie Raitt since she fired her old band years ago on her management's advice, because they made her look old. She then hired younger guys, so she would look younger. Lame.
Bull, Ricky Fataar is a friend of mine and has been with her for many years. I have known him since early 70's so he is not young, get your head out of your butt and look at the talent!

Studio mixing of seperately performed tracks overlapped after the fact just don't
have the "FEEL" that a LIVE performance
has, and it never will either!! This rocks!!!
