Leon is an older gentleman now...saw him in NYC awhile ago and he's not sending shivers down girl's spines these days. He walks with a walker and has a chronic illness which he talks about onstage.

Time waits for no man! Not even Leon Russell.

@theodorodepangrazia I've seen Leon a few times in the past few years and I have to say it does not matter to me how old he is. His voice and attitude is still Leon. Flashes of the "old" Leon come through with his expressions, his banter with the crowd and just his being The Master of Space and Time makes him one of the cool to the bone people alive.

The fact that he is 68 and still tours extensively, with his health problems, is a testament to the fact that his mind and soul are harmony and he is still the master of time and space. And yes he still sends a shiver down my spine! I saw him in November in Philly for the very first time, I was tingling all over!

Leon's not spine-tingling was noted by me when I attended a Leon Russell show last year at BB King's Bar in NYC. When analyzing an older artist who can't operate in the same way anymore, it's fair to recognize truth from fiction. Russell himself comments on his frailty, diseases and age on-stage. Russell himself would have criticized such a performance from someone else I'm sure, and an artist of his caliber should retire at this point.

I have seen EVERY single person, that was on that stage, live and in person. I saw Maria Muldaur when she was singing backup for Dan Hicks and his Hot Licks. Mickey (probably spelled wrong) Rafael is one of the greatest harp players who ever lived. Great video.
