i love reverb!!!! my secret. i run the spring king first then into a ibanez TS9 so the actual reverb effect gets overdrivin too! similar to this sound.
Okay, I don't know where my revised comment went to but...Spring Kings have 3 springs. I stopped using mine when I bought a Fender reverb tank. After a few months, I tried the SK again and it sounded much better than I expected. The tank cost 5 times as much as the SK, but it doesn't sound 5 times better. (And I'm a surf player -- ie, I take reverb seriously!)
I was trying to play "rumble", a Link Wray's theme.

Is it worth buying this thing to just add a tiny bit of reverb to fatten up my sound more?

The Spring King is ok, but it does not provide the surfy dripping reverb of a Fender tank...
