My son was born @ 27 weeks as well....He was discharged from the hospital at 85 days old....He weighed 2lbs 5.5oz...babies like these are true blessings and miracles!! god bless glad he's doing wonderful!!!
what a cutie - love his monkey outfits! watching these reminded me of the days with hailey in the nicu, but her stay was nothing compared to noahs - what a fighter! so glad he is doing well now, just look how far he's come! congrats momma!
@alkalinerush She was only in the nicu for 5 weeks, and mostly for feeding/breathing issues. she has bad reflux and still has issues eating, but at least she doesn't aspirate anymore when drinking and eating. they finally got her sats ok while she was eating and she started gaining weight again.
@BeckyNIU i'm so glad she's doing better!! once their 3 months adjusted the reflux fades away for most babies (well for most moms that i've talked to...and with out experiance too) It was sooo frustrating but looking back those few months went by so fast!
@alkalinerush nope - 1 year and she still has it and is on zantec twice a day. she has lots of trouble eating too - at one, she has a hard time with solids. She can eat stage 3 but not stage 4, and can't do pieces of fruit as it just makes her gag. We may have to go to a specialist to work on that.
@BeckyNIU awww :( i hope her reflux gets better!! Maybe it's the acid in the fruit?? Hopefully it will go away eventually!! Does she have athsma problems??
@alkalinerush yup and every time she has a cold, which is every other week due to daycare, she has to have nebulizer treatments at least twice a day for wheezing. i am hoping she grows out of all of this soon!
What a sweet little boy!! It always makes my tummy flutter when I watch N.I.C.U. stories. I'm sure you can relate. Our boys are fighters!! :) As are we. Woo Hoo, the N.I.C.U. mommies club! He is such a cutie pie!! (Isn't it funny how now when you see a newborn born at term, you're like, "that baby's huge!! He's the size of a 4 or 5 month old!!")

I saw a newborn the other day and I was like...."3 months?" lol..she had good head control though but yeah I remember seeing a full term baby in Noah's room in the NICU when he was finally at term...his roomate was about 3x his size haha! and it was a normal size!

@anlwillis congrats on the birth of ur lil one..my heart goes out to you. He had a pic line in for most of his stay. It was only taken out and put back in once, because he was going to go home (they took it out then) n when he got sick it went back in. But yeah it's pretty much in for the entire stay...just for any meds they might need n stuff.
That would have been so hard and distressing on you. You have a gighter on your hands. He was so tiny and I am amazed at how well he has done. Some babies are in there for months on end. He is adorable and he is so lucky to have a gorgeous mummy like you. The poor little guy has gone through so much and I wish for him a healthy and happy future. Keep up the good work honey, he melts my heart. I only had a baby in there for a few days let alone a few months. Sending hugs to you!
