Oh so youre saying that the government should give money to private scholls, but last time i checked you are insanely against all religions except for christianity so of course that would be the only schools you would wnat to fund which is unconstitutional and you want to say public education ruins america well let me tell you that i am a public school educated child who has scored in the ninety nith percentile in every standardized test in my life, which home schoolers take aswell, and scored
higher than most high school seniors on the SAT in the senenth grade and can think on his own if he damn well pleases. Plus i am in a model congress and your acusation that public schools are leftist can be refuted by the simple fact that about 66% of the clas falls to the right but two of the three who are triple accelerated in math fall to the left so i think the morale of the story is that public schools are not leftist but the brightest still side with the liberals.
@bdragon660 - You don't understand what he said at all. He's talking about school vouchers, which means the schools don't get any money except through tuition, public or private. The point is competition through 100% school choice, not privatization.
For real information on school vouchers check out Reason TV on YouTube. Or look for videos and books by Milton Friedman who came up with the idea. I'll say this again, it's not about public or private, it's about competition and parental control.
The problem is, you either send your kid to public school, or you send your kid to private school while simultaneously paying someone else's kid to go to public school.
There is no option of simply not supporting public schools.
@carultch - Yes, but vouchers cure that by giving all children the same amount of tax money and allowing parents to send their child to the school of choice.
@carultch .Oh yes there is an option, it is called "Allodial Title". If you can ever own your house,(and the land it sits on) then you do not pay property tax. No property tax...No Public
Schools. Simple. It's getting the title that's tough. Do
your homework and get back to me. If enough of us wake
Public high schools teach statistics.. Maybe you should look at some literature reviewing the methodology of those rankings to find out that only very wealthy parents, using vouchers to send their children to better schools, are included in many countries' performance rankings. Meanwhile, America does try to educate each of its students, even if the underperforming ones pull down the statistical average.
If you look at the high performing students from each country, America ranks pretty well
As a retired public school teacher I am convinced that our only hope is to rescue our children from the public (government) schools and raise a godly generation.
@theinsectmanofwv You know maybe that's the reason the Public school sector is so bad in the first place. I just hope they aren't more people like you teaching at public schools.
The idea that "good moral behavior" is linked to religion is absurd, the worst crimes in history has been committed in the name of religion. The idea of separating the Church from the State is a very good idea.
I agree that State-sponsored education, on the other hand, is not a good idea, because the State is a lousy administrator and a source of corruption, and public education is another way of interfering with the market.
I don't even call it "public school" any more. It's "Government School." Besides, it can't be a "public" school if the government will throw your ass in jail for sending your kid to a government school that they did not authorize you to send them to.
If you take the indoctrination of public school and put it to a mirror , the same argument against the offensive atmosphere of public schools could be reflected by those who believe the Bible, and want it taught to children in which the they are conditioned by control through fear -
- fear of god taught as a virtue, and upheld by parents who were likewise taught the same !
@rolynstone48 - I don't fear God; I'm not religious. Therefore, you better hope that I fear spending a long time in prison. Otherwise, what reason would I have not to kill you for cutting me off in traffic, looking at me sideways, or simply having some wealth that I don't have? Get it straight: Judeo-Christian values are what we have to thank for the existence of America.
"what reason would you fear prison or what reason would you not kill be for cutting you off in traffic or looking at you sideways , etc.?"
Well , maybe just because you have discovered that the inner consciousness is able to over ride your outer Cretin ?
The existance of America was despite the Judeo-Christian values and more likely due to conquest and greed by wealthy expeditionaries and corporatists wanting to be free to exploit the land and cut out King George from the deal !
@rolynstone48 - Now you just sound like an uneducated dolt. America was founded on Judeo-Christian values. They told you that in 8th grade government, no? Furthermore, the Founding Fathers risked--and many lost--their fortunes, land, property, and lives on the birth of America. Quite a few ended up homeless, destitute, or dead, and it wasn't because they were ran out of town for being greedy. I AM THE GREEDY. I do everything for more money and I want it for my family and no one else. No apology.
Only an uneducated dolt would say what you said , and since this country was founded upon greed , conquest and genocide , I guess that makes you the perfect American !
Don't concern yourself with any apologies because that would be a serious compromise from your Americanism!
@rolynstone48 - OK then, what country wasn't founded upon greed conquest and genocide? And if you can't make a coherent statement in your third try, fuggit, don't bother.
Finland is advanced for two reasons: monoculture and a tiny population. Not vouchers (maybe a little, but not much.)
As a former public school teacher in NYC, the main problem with the kids is the SOCIALIZING (ie hanging out and such) and a lack of seriousness in regards to what their doing is determining their futures. Add in bad parents, stupid administrators who have all of the power for some dopey reason, and a lack of respect for teachers and you have the disaster which is public ed.
@alwrig Yeah, but its hard not to, when for some reason the videos contantly keep being sent to me, come up on my page, and on my recommended video list.
@killerbumble well, maybe this will make a little more sense. i've been tutoring public school kids for two and a half years for 2 hours a week. every student i have had has been between 3-5 grade levels in every area of academics they have been tested in and after a year of tutoring i've always gotten them back on the appropriate grade work. when i'm tutoring a highschool student who is illiterate after 10 years in publics schools what conclusion can you come to other than a broken system.
When a school teacher says, "Let people believe what they want to believe...." That is a view that is exclusive, and it is a doctorine or a rule/law being taught to them.
Public schools suck, you get treated like crap for being white and made to feel guilty. 2 they tell you to eaither pick millitary or colledge. There ag mechanics is a joke industrial arts is gone and if you like to work with your hands theres nothing there for you.
Teachers aren't the evil that you make them out to be either. I have had many wonderful teachers and counselors who have encouraged my faith, making school bearable even when I faced bullying for it. I love public school, it has afforded me far more opportunities than any private school ever could have.
In fact, despite the bullying I have faced, my friends in Christian private schools have faced far worse.
I hate to burst your bubble, but I have gone to public schools all my life. By taking advantage of every opportunity, I am in the top 1% of students in the United States, whether publicly or privately educated. Don't blame the teachers... blame the cultural lack of value for education and academic achievement.
Yanking Christian students out of the public school system is not the answer. The persecution faced in school only makes our faith grow stronger and learn how to avoid temptation.
Private school really doesn't pay better - they pay significantly less. Remember they are competing with "free." Many Christian school teachers do it as a personal mission tied to their own faith.
Wow. Talk about cherry picking. NZ is also ahead of you and has secular public schools and no voucher system. Maybe America's biggest problem is fact-bending theologists with an agenda that far outweighs anything you can dream up to apparently suppress you.
28-60% of Finns are agnostics, atheists, or non-believers.
Our schools are bad because teachers aren't paid what they're worth and state government/districts keeps setting testing standards that cause teachers to teach to the tests rather than teach what the kids really need. School has become a production line pushing students through on an assembly line. Private schools pay their teachers somewhat better, have smaller class sizes and more freedom in curriculum. You get what you pay for.
@spellwight BULL mother fucking SHIT!!!!!! I grew up in a mildy conservative area in Pennsylvania for 16 years. Growing up I would see our public school teachers driving in cars and living in houses my parents could never afford despite the fact that my mom was a nurse and my dad had a great job at a factory. Guess what, the education was really crappy. Public school teachers get overpaid and teach us nothing. And many private schools underpay their teachers and the education is still better.
@spellwight Also I know a lot of Homeschoolers who are smarter than anyone who went to public or private school, and they're parents are also religious.
This guy really hates public education ,science, and anything that has to do with telling people ohhh i don't know like the world isn't flat and fossils are real Satan had nothing to do with it ,,to be fair religion had good points umm the inquisition witch burning hey that number one book seller only second to the bible "The Witches Hammer" better known to bible thumpers as lol Hans Zimmer's "Malleus Maleficarum" recommended reading for all bible thumpers :) the movie Jesus Camp also on top.
The Finnish voucher system is an idea from the left... Did he just support something he hates? lol Other than the fact that Americans lack education the only other thing I agree with him on was his first statement cut in half. Americans need to know more about theology, but not just to have a better connection with God, but all major theological positions so that they can understand the truth about different religions. This guy, however, lies about history can religion. Interesting.
@DarkAnderebu Molotov Mitchell shows he's a fucking retard. Education is highly prized in Findland with teachers highly paid and qualified, the antithesis of the shit he blows out. Conservatives think teaching is the same as flipping hamburgers, not an art.
@robertmike57 It most certainly is an art. You are very correct sir. My mother is a teacher, two of my aunts are teachers, and my grandmother was a teacher. "Molotov" Mitchell is a very funny guy. For instance, in this video he supports an idea from the left in Finland, which normally he hates and despises, and suggests it upon the United States. Then in another video he stated the reason our education system is bad is lack of God in it. However, Finland also lacks God in their schools.... lol
Religion has always been responable for the largest lies told to us!!
It has caused the biggest wars,,, the longest famines,,, and yet it is the single most wealthiest corporation on this planet,,, history tells it all,,, if history was tought in schools cristiandom would weaken!!!
@dogmoon100 Actually I do study history and religions of the world. When we look at the real reasons for these wars many of them were in fact not about religion at all. Religion was used to trick the masses into fighting, but taking the crusades as an example, the main purpose behind them was money. Europe was in a dark age while the middle east was in a golden age. Never thought it interesting that during one of the crusades the "Christians" sacked Constantinople? A very rich "Christian" city?
You have done nothing to refute my opinion regarding religion and war,,,,
The english crusaders were in fact motivated by money ,,,, Just a little side fact of that,,,It was the king,& his men of high regard,,, Earls etc,,, who gained most from the crusades, while the men of "regard" sat and watched, not going into battle for the most part,,, the serfs and peasant foot soldiers did all the dirty work!!
@dogmoon100 "And you will be rich beyond your realm if you sack the infedels and bring them to cristianity" if you know who was puported to have quoted that passage, answers are apparent!!
The church did not "TRICK" these men into the crusades I doubt that you would be able to "Trick" this many men to do what they did, rather the "Noblmen" had permision from the church!! hence Church and war!= responability Sorry you chose the crusades as an example, choose another war and we can debate again
Oh BTW I think the attack on the great city of Constantinople was a classic,,, Pure genius,,,,, And they were saying prayers as they killed and looted!!!
NA religion and war,,,,,, Nothing to do with each other!!
@dogmoon100 What I am stating is that normal religions and the belief in something higher than yourself has nothing to do with many of these wars. Most religions around the world advocate self defense, the defense of innocents, or not to fight at all. Religion can't be clumped together as one giant group as everyone has different motives. Some people truly do attempt to be pious and helpful toward others while many want money and power. That's humanity in general, not just religion.
We in the west (Most any way) live with cristian values. we care for those less fortunate than ourselves.
I was bought up in a strict baptist house and I attended church untill i was in my late teens,,, I chose to become a Pagan (Witch) because I did not beleive in the doctrine of the church,, further as I matured I learned of the Hypocrisy of the clergy (This occurs in all denominations)
I went to church as a child but into my adult years realised that religoin was hypocrisy.
doctrine telling people how to live but the elders of religion not practiceing what they preach,, this is the same in all religions,, i am now a pagan and have been for many years,,, but If you are a cristian you will not understand me ,,, you will brabing your pithforks and setting the pyres,,,, and that in itself sets my point.
@dogmoon100 You're pagan? Well I am a convert to Islam and I love and respect your religious views. I sincerely hope your life is filled with love and peace and if there is an afterlife that will be as well. I will agree that the mass organization of religions can be an evil destructive thing (as my faith has seen much sadly) but I do not believe that religion itself is evil. Of course I remember the inquisition, crusades, etc. However, do you remember feeding the homeless? Do you know Ramadan?
@DarkAnderebu I know of Ramadam,, a months fast? i think,,, To teach patience?? During the day I think from sun up to sundown?
I think that sort of sums it up,,,
As druid (Pagan) we fast two days prior the the Mid Winter solstice, But we can take in fluids,,, the feast at the end is always a celebration, (This varies) depending on your ritual background,,, but we do agree that religion itself is not evil, in fact a beleif system for any person is important for spirituality!!
@dogmoon100 Ah! Ok so we do see eye to eye. Oh and during Ramadan feeding the poor is HIGHLY encouraged. One of the "five pillars of faith" in Islam is to help the poor anyway, but during Ramadan it is highly encouraged to share food with them. In fact, some acts committed during the daylight hours of Ramadan REQUIRE taking care of homeless and poor in order to repent. Maybe we could add each other though. I would love to learn more about your beliefs. There are a lot of different types of Pagan
@dogmoon100 In no way shape or form do I suggest we forget the evils committed. What I do however suggest is that we all work together against those very evils. Even religious people hate what people have done in the name of their religion. I am a women's rights advocate, I have no problem with gay marriage, I love learning about other religions, yet I am a Muslim. This means I am stereotyped as someone who beats women, hates homosexuals, and wants to "kill the infidels." That is not Islam.
In my opinion the muslim faith is one of the most honest, I think the followers of islam have a great understanding of love, All religions have a side that is destructive and i agree that we should all work together ,,its funny really , we began debaiting on a diferant level really and I think it is nice to have found a common ground, I have always been pro choice in a lot of ways,, It is a shame that religion holds stereotypes, Ignorance is the cause of this!!!
Yes, you are so right! Government schools are NOT reformable because they are doing a fine job doing what they were designed to do - which is make little carbon copy socialist citizens who are totally dependent upon the state, who can't think for themselves or even read very well, and who will become mindless consumers...
In Norway you can buy regret pill, 24/7 on a gas station at age of 14 but you need to be 18 to drink a beer. LOLOLOL. I promise you guys. YOU DONT WANT USA TO BECOME LIKE NORWAY
I bet you rant about higher tax rates too? Here's the reason Finland has the choices you mentioned: "In Finland Taxation of an individual's income is progressive. In other words, the higher the income, the higher the rate of tax payable. In 2011 the income tax rate (national tax) for an individual is between 6.5%-30%. In addition to direct taxation there is also municipal tax in Finland.
@plutoplanet : Most important is that the family actually have more contact and better relations with their kids than govt. will try to discuss your future. It would be even much better if the tax rate would be flat (0% at best) and schooling would be 100% private.
As well, you criticize the public schools for indoctrinating kids, but you fail to acknowledge that the church and their parents are doing the same. You also constantly criticize communism, obviously you have fallen victim to the blind following of the McCarthyist agenda. Maybe you should enlighten yourself.
you say that we need a greater theological understanding, but you criticize homosexuals, as well as Muslims. Good try, but if you had an adequate theological understanding you would understand the religions of others and be more sympathetic to the positions of others and apply the principle of charity in evaluating their positions
Also, we CAN choose our schools. We have the freedom to move to the school district we want. AND, you are right on the point of 1 hour of Sunday School isn't enough, however, that is why we as parents are called to teach our faith every day in our own homes, AND MODEL IT. We are called to be IN the world, not on the fringes.
I do not know anybody who was homeschooled who is not socially inept. My sister homeschools all four of her children, and each of them are immature, and unintelligent. She decided to put them in a Christian private school, and they barely lasted two months. I have met people who were homeschooled, and they could not even spell basic words learned in fifth grade. Maybe one should look into all forms of education for a chance at reform.
@doofman16arr considering that homeschool kids out preform Public school kids on both the ITBS and TAP batteries. Homeschool is more like the Montessori educational models and it shows results unlike the public school system.
@christhrasher Yeah it is a lot like religion except as a child you can't say no and if you give the wrong answer you are pretty much mocked from the teacher. I went to an inner city school in upstate NY I know indoctrination when I hear it. Public education needs to be eliminated. I am sorry you are blind to this fact. Please ask me any honest question and I will give you direct truthful answers about my 13 year indoctrination.
And Sunday school isn't indoctrination? He cannot possibly believe what he is saying or be that stupid. Everything he says is pure bullshit hate speech propaganda. People like this always make everything worse and never make anything better. They are what is wrong with this country and why we need to stamp out religion, poor breeding and improve education. I can tell you what Sunday school is in addition to indoctrination; it is child abuse.
@smegmasaurus HURRY! HURRY! Get rid of moral and decency and lets clamp down on individual thinking and responsibility to account for our actions! Then let's stop letting people I don't agree with have children. You sound familiar I bet you went to Sunday school and you didn't like it. I bet you speak out about it. God gives you the choice to completely ignore HIM if you wish, Government does not.
@crazyliberalguy -- So we must therefore conclude that America should strive for higher taxes so that we too, can have an equally excellent public school system?
@johnrcrews If not, the downward spiral of immorality, debauchery, and unraveling of our civilization will continue. Take for example you, Mr. Crews, who has no compunction about unbridled MSM which, as we all know, dramatically increases the spread of AIDS and other STD's. You're as poor a role model the upcoming generation has to look at. On the other hand, anyone perpetuating the time-honored Judeo-Christian ethic are those who actually build and safeguard our society.
@DrTerminus Why are you bringing up homosexuality and homosexual sexual activity? You sound a bit melodramatic in your comment. PEOPLE that have unprotected sex or use dirty needles spread HIV/AIDS. If it were a "gay disease" then only gay people could get it. Straight people can get HIV too. You don't know anything about me. Please don't think that by calling me gay that that somehow makes my views less valid or credible. Produce God and have Him say being gay is bad. I'm Christian by the way.
Public school, Private, and Homeschool all are indoctrinating someone's kids. The question is rather, what doctrine is being taught, and is it the truth? Letting your kids make their own decision on what doctrine they decide to follow is the same thing. We have the freedom to decide on what doctrine to belief in. You can't get away from being influenced by someone: a guard, a teacher, a father or mother, a friend, a classmate, a youtube video, a youtube comment, a magazine, a music artist, etc.
@Creationcreed True enough. The question that we all need to ask ourselves is. Do we want the government to indoctrinate our kids, or the parents. Which one normally has the kids best interest at heart and which one wants to produce a peasant society?
@intrepidorator Another good question! "Pleasant" society is subjective without God though. "Better" has to come from a doctrine one holds already to make that kind of measurement claim. Every opinion/and absolute has to come from a foundation.
While I've never found evidence of it in public schools, I've repeatedly found evidence of private and homeschool teachers/parents making a genuine effort to present multiple sides of an argument/philosophy/historical event. The key is to teach logic [including logical fallacies] and reason and allow students to formulate their own opinion; and to be willing to respect informed choices of students.
@LogicRulestheDay In a public school they will silence you if you talk about Jesus Christ without compromise, which will say to the student,"Religion is not welcome here!", which can make a child translate it as being disrespectful-bad-intolerant-religion is evil. Indoctrination happens when you are told what not to do, or even through a teachers silence on a topic. Not Informing is another form of indoctrination. Your view is just as indoctrinating as any other view out there, and exclusive.
@Creationcreed ---Did you read my response or just knee-jerk reply?
How is teaching the critical thinking skills of logic and endevoring to present multiple sides of an issue, and then respecting the student's opinions after they've weighed the evidence - an exclusive form of indoctrination?
@LogicRulestheDay There is no such thing as an unbias teacher. Even when operating the classroom like that. Doing it that way is a doctrine itself. Just because I say it is a view of how to run things in the classroom: a law, doesn't mean it's bad. I'm all for reason and logic. I'm just saying whatever way u do it, it is with a view that THAT is the way we should teach them. From the mere fact that you will disagree w/ me later, makes your view exclusive.
@Creationcreed -- inclusive – comprehensive vs. exclusive - omitting from consideration
As a family who has homeschooled via various methods of teaching (from unschooling to ‘Classical’ education) along with having investigated multiple learning styles and various forms of intelligence – I’d say homeschoolers have the most freedom to be the least ‘exclusive’ form of educators.
@LogicRulestheDay It is the least exclusive form of education, because you can touch on aspects of life they would never be educated on in regular public schools. I would rather have my kids participate in homeschooling, and I've witnessed parents and children do this...and they learn so much more in my opinion. There are the exception of homeschool: some kids seem to "lack" socially, but most are just as well-rounded, or even more, than other.
@Creationcreed Between 80-90% of "Christian" kids leave the faith they were raised with by the time they go off to college. It's time we ask ourselves why. One clue, as Voddie Baucham says, "If you send your kids to Caesar for their education don't be surprised when they come back as Romans."
“I would rather have my kids...” So what’s keeping you from the sacrifices necessary to make this a reality?
@LogicRulestheDay "So what’s keeping you from the sacrifices necessary to make this a reality?" - I can answer this...I don't have kids yet.LOL! But, when I do I'll making sure they get well educated about the Bible(theres so much biblical apologetics material, etc out there now), and basic education. I think parent are a bit intimidated by the idea of homeschooling: too much time, etc. But we have to understand that it is very important.
@Creationcreed "Education is thus a most powerful ally of humanism, and every American school is a school of humanism. What can a theistic Sunday school's meeting for an hour once a week and teaching only a fraction of the children do to stem the tide of the five-day program of humanistic teaching?"
– C.F. Potter, signer of Humanist Manifesto 1930 - HUMANISM, A NEW RELIGION
Check out: news with views .com Dr. Dennis Cuddy, Phd - America’s New Religion
@Creationcreed - It seems to me you are confusing the concept of influencing and indoctrinating. Saying, 'here's what I think, and why I think it is truth' and following that with 'here's what others think, and why they think it's truth.' Now use your reason and explain your arguments for or against. Will my beliefs influence, maybe, but I hope it's only because I have the more clearly supported evidence and reason. My homeschooled kids have caused me to rethink many an issue.
@LogicRulestheDay Rethinking to what end? To be athiest, agnostic, relativist, Christian? From the Biblical worldview, you have to teach about God, and the scriptures, not as fairytales, but as literal truth. That doesn't exclude logic or reasoning, evidence, etc, that's actually part of it. But a Christian doesn't support throwing two sides out there, and leaving people/kids to themselves. We tell them the Bible truth: swaying them toward God, not away from, and ify about Him and the Bible.
@Creationcreed --Rethink – in terms of how I apply scripture to various issues, interpretation of scripture, and giving additional, intentional thought to other scriptures (the whole of God’s word) on a given subject. Not necessarily change my basic opinion, but I have broadened or narrowed it because of their insightful arguments.
@LogicRulestheDay Asking questions, and whatnot, are great. And I commend u for pulling them out of public school to a more classical education. I would like to do the same for my kids. My pressupposition will be God and the Bible of course, but with it, good reasoned argument they can apply if theybup into an opposing view. Christian is an exclusive worldview, and intolerant(&thats good). Absolute truth is exclusive. They would still be well rounded: know about other belief systems out there.
@Creationcreed – Honestly, as a mental health professional, youth minister, GS Troop leader & community participant, I’ve yet to meet a hmschld student who is anti-social (tho pub schools overflow w/them.) Some may be a bit ‘odd’, but not in any >% of the population. Most are precocious, intellectually curious, mature beyond their peers, well mannered & able to hold conversations across multiple generations on a vast array of topics.
@Creationcreed -- On the Myth of Un-socialization of Homeschooled Students --What utter lunacy it is to suggest that the herd mentality of unruly, immature children can impart good social skills to other children.
@Creationcreed My kids can’t get into heaven based on my believing; theirs’ must be a personal, reasoned, mature and tested faith. They will encounter many alternate worldviews and it behooves them to rationally consider other views, if they are to ‘give answer’ for why they believe what they believe and also what they don’t believe and why not. And a clearly defined worldview provides a measure for cultural influences and their own actions.
@Creationcreed what if a child u have really 'feels' like white supremacy is the truth? do we let them follow their own beliefs to whatever end they choose?
The history they teach is moot anyway. They are indoctrinated but so are we (adults) everyday of our lives in all these "systems" of the world. It is not the schools responsibility to teach anything "personal" like religion or sex or anything else that would influence a kids way of thinking. It is their Parents and their way of life. "Practicing what they preach" and teaching their kids the same. Then YOU will be their greatest influence even when it looks like we aren't
so i have some problems with this, yes i admit many public school teachers are teaching useless things and many are bias and lie to the children because its "politically correct". but then there are teachers like my history teacher that teach the fundamentals of the constitution and tells students it is their responsibility to protect the country from the direction its going in .
I always thought that Fineland was more socialst then America, but it sounds like it's more free! I never understood how anyone with at least two brain cells can be against vouchers unless of course they are members of the teacher's union.
Finland doesn't have a voucher system. The school the kids go to (grades 1-9) are designated by the area they live in. The schools are tax funded. Books are free and pupils get one luch a day.
Wow...this HELARIOUS that he's promoting Finland (AKA-EVIL SOCIALIST PARADISE) as an example of a nation with a good education system. He also puts the blame on teachers rather then the ass-backwards state education systems many states have that prevent teachers from being more innovative. He also fails to mention the many highly successful charter school systems (I'm a VP of one) that are paid for by the public school system. In short...this man needs to get educated about public education.
i went to a publick school i my not be the best speller but my 5 grade teacher touaght us the contion and she also stared a after school program called we the the peaple may of heard of it
Public schools CAN be reformed if you understand what needs to be changed and where the underlying problems lie, and your statement that christian schools educate and public schools indoctrinate almost made me piss myself in laughter.
Homeschooling is a double edged sword, it depends on the parent, would you really want a child to be schooled by a parent who's education was lax?
Won't this guy ever shut up!? Beware: Humanists and unions are taking over your schools! BEWARE OMG! RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously? Is this video a joke?
Actually the teaching in public schools on sex, pregnancy, birth control, abortion, sexually transmitted diseases and HIV is no more effective than the teaching on any other subject, with much misinformation. While working for the health department I found that teenagers and young adults think they know a lot because it was taught in school. But all most of them really know is how to have sex, and not much even about that. Their ignorance is truly startling and the consequences pretty sad.
Yeah ive also watched quite a few of your videos and to sum it up then, everything about God is good, u hate Obama and his party, Gays shouldnt get married im just taking a guess you were born in Texas too? americas most stupidest and hated state in the world.
So you not going to say anything about the indoctrination into the Christian religion many home and private schooled kids receive?
I've watched several of your videos and the hypocrisy, lies and stupidity of them astounds me every single time. So yeah, well done in that respect, I guess.
30 books written by whom that kill evolution? 3 Conferences held by whom that killed evolution? I'm not interested in Youtube Videos "killing" evolution for every single one lacks scientific backing.
Ah but Darwin Later wrote that eyes "must have evolved from numerous gratdations from an imperfect simple eye to one perfect and complex, with each grade being useful to it's processor."
Besides that, it doesn't matter if Darwin could concieved it or not, science has proven it. Beyond doubt.
Then why does doubt exist? Go to Creation Science Evangelism or Way of the Master for more evolution killing. Oh and just to let you know. That all of Humanity's Knowledge is equal to 1% of all there is. So can you prove 100% that there is not somewhere in the universe that has evidence solidifying God's existence? Before you can say something does not exist you must first prove that you know it all.
@RandomEntertainmenYT We are not getting into a philosophical debate on theology. Science is not philosophy.
Creation Science, Evangelism or Way of the Master are ALL non-objective sources to base an argument. Not to mention they aren't scientific.
You Idiot. Evolution DOES NOT state, does not infer and or imply that there is not a god. Evolution is about what life does once it already exists. Period.
Evidence OUTSIDE Biology proves beyond any doubt the Earth is billions of years old.
So if can't prove that there is no God, then you can not prove that he did not follow the Bible. Therefore you have no basis for an argument. But we have never seen evolution happen. We have seen adaptation, which is not evolution. Darwin did not write a book called "How species change through time." But "Origin of Species." So tell me in your OWN words. What, when, where and why did the universe start? Can you answer that question?
@RandomEntertainmenYT Actually we have seen evolution happen but those of you who want to doubt evolution will of course deny it, evolution is ALWAYS happening.
It is clear to me now that you really have no concept of Evolution and or Science. I mean it's plainly clear based on that first statement.
I have not the time or the space (500 characters) to even begin to explain to you the evidence in Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Astro Physics, Physics, Astronomy, Mineralogy, Genetics...etc
We can look at it two ways. One you are right and I'm wrong. That still leaves the wild card God out there so you can't be sure of anything.
Or two, I'm right you're wrong and God is in control.
In either scenario God can or does exist. The thing is no one will even ALLOW the possibility of there being a higher power to be explored by Science. I look at Newton, he was a devout Christian. Einstein wrote a book called God vs. Science. Many historical scientists have believed in God.
@RandomEntertainmenYT And you see there is the problem, a scientist can be a devout christian, I am one as well. HOWEVER A scientific explanation MUST BE one I can investigate, test or even observe. God is NEITHER of those.
Like Gravity: I could say Gods force is holding us down, or there is the invisible force called gravity that is based on the mass and density of an object which I can test and prove.
@Balsology Infact watch this series of 12 videos PBS Evolution 1 - Darwin's Dangerous Idea
It shows Darwin's scientific exploration that led him to his conclusion. God had nothing to do with his decision, he took an Objective scientific apporoach to answering how and why species exist where and the way they do (hence the origin of species).
Oh so youre saying that the government should give money to private scholls, but last time i checked you are insanely against all religions except for christianity so of course that would be the only schools you would wnat to fund which is unconstitutional and you want to say public education ruins america well let me tell you that i am a public school educated child who has scored in the ninety nith percentile in every standardized test in my life, which home schoolers take aswell, and scored

bdragon660 1 month ago
@bdragon660 - You don't understand what he said at all. He's talking about school vouchers, which means the schools don't get any money except through tuition, public or private. The point is competition through 100% school choice, not privatization.
For real information on school vouchers check out Reason TV on YouTube. Or look for videos and books by Milton Friedman who came up with the idea. I'll say this again, it's not about public or private, it's about competition and parental control.

The problem is, you either send your kid to public school, or you send your kid to private school while simultaneously paying someone else's kid to go to public school.
There is no option of simply not supporting public schools.
carultch 1 month ago
@carultch - Yes, but vouchers cure that by giving all children the same amount of tax money and allowing parents to send their child to the school of choice.

This point of view is only half true!
If you take the indoctrination of public school and put it to a mirror , the same argument against the offensive atmosphere of public schools could be reflected by those who believe the Bible, and want it taught to children in which the they are conditioned by control through fear -
- fear of god taught as a virtue, and upheld by parents who were likewise taught the same !
rolynstone48 4 months ago
@rolynstone48 - I don't fear God; I'm not religious. Therefore, you better hope that I fear spending a long time in prison. Otherwise, what reason would I have not to kill you for cutting me off in traffic, looking at me sideways, or simply having some wealth that I don't have? Get it straight: Judeo-Christian values are what we have to thank for the existence of America.

Finland is advanced for two reasons: monoculture and a tiny population. Not vouchers (maybe a little, but not much.)
As a former public school teacher in NYC, the main problem with the kids is the SOCIALIZING (ie hanging out and such) and a lack of seriousness in regards to what their doing is determining their futures. Add in bad parents, stupid administrators who have all of the power for some dopey reason, and a lack of respect for teachers and you have the disaster which is public ed.

FreelySoaring 7 months ago
I hate to burst your bubble, but I have gone to public schools all my life. By taking advantage of every opportunity, I am in the top 1% of students in the United States, whether publicly or privately educated. Don't blame the teachers... blame the cultural lack of value for education and academic achievement.
Yanking Christian students out of the public school system is not the answer. The persecution faced in school only makes our faith grow stronger and learn how to avoid temptation.
FreelySoaring 7 months ago
Private school really doesn't pay better - they pay significantly less. Remember they are competing with "free." Many Christian school teachers do it as a personal mission tied to their own faith.

@robertmike57 It most certainly is an art. You are very correct sir. My mother is a teacher, two of my aunts are teachers, and my grandmother was a teacher. "Molotov" Mitchell is a very funny guy. Religion has always been responable for the largest lies told to us!!
It has caused the biggest wars,,, the longest famines,,, and yet it is the single most wealthiest corporation on this planet,,, history tells it all,,, if history was tought in schools cristiandom would weaken!!!
READ THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD!!!!
dogmoon100 4 months ago
@dogmoon100 Actually I do study history and religions of the world. When we look at the real reasons for these wars many of them were in fact not about religion at all. Religion was used to trick the masses into fighting, but taking the crusades as an example, the main purpose behind them was money. Europe was in a dark age while the middle east was in a golden age. Never thought it interesting that during one of the crusades the "Christians" sacked Constantinople? A very rich "Christian" city?
DarkAnderebu 4 months ago
@DarkAnderebu
You have done nothing to refute my opinion regarding religion and war,,,,
The english crusaders were in fact motivated by money ,,,, Just a little side fact of that,,,It was the king,& his men of high regard,,, Earls etc,,, who gained most from the crusades, while the men of "regard" sat and watched, not going into battle for the most part,,, the serfs and peasant foot soldiers did all the dirty work!!
dogmoon100 4 months ago
@dogmoon100 "And you will be rich beyond your realm if you sack the infedels and bring them to cristianity" if you know who was puported to have quoted that passage, answers are apparent!!
The church did not "TRICK" these men into the crusades I doubt that you would be able to "Trick" this many men to do what they did, rather the "Noblmen" had permision from the church!! hence Church and war!= responability Sorry you chose the crusades as an example, choose another war and we can debate again

I Agree!!
Greed is a nasty human trait.
dogmoon100 4 months ago
@DarkAnderebu
Cristain values are good!!!
Do you remember the INQUISITIONS
dogmoon100 4 months ago
@DarkAnderebu
One more point,,,, do you Know that the jews sold Jesus Christ out for 30 Peices of gold!!!
Yes I may be a pagan but I do beleive that Jesus christ existed,,,, and he was a great healer!!
He was not born of the imaculate conseption, (JUST NOT HUMANLY POSSIBLE) he was not the Messiah
god is a product of the churches of religion Just as satin is a product of relgion.
religion is the hugest lie this planet has witnessed and that is a shame!!!
dogmoon100 4 months ago
@dogmoon100 You're pagan? Well I am a convert to Islam and I love and respect your religious views. I sincerely hope your life is filled with love and peace and if there is an afterlife that will be as well. I will agree that the mass organization of religions can be an evil destructive thing (as my faith has seen much sadly) but I do not believe that religion itself is evil. Of course I remember the inquisition, crusades, etc. However, do you remember feeding the homeless? Do you know Ramadan?
DarkAnderebu 3 months ago
@DarkAnderebu I know of Ramadam,, a months fast? i think,,, To teach patience?? During the day I think from sun up to sundown?
I think that sort of sums it up,,,
As druid (Pagan) we fast two days prior the the Mid Winter solstice, But we can take in fluids,,, the feast at the end is always a celebration, (This varies) depending on your ritual background,,, but we do agree that religion itself is not evil, in fact a beleif system for any person is important for spirituality!!
dogmoon100 3 months ago
@dogmoon100 Ah! Ok so we do see eye to eye. Oh and during Ramadan feeding the poor is HIGHLY encouraged. One of the "five pillars of faith" in Islam is to help the poor anyway, but during Ramadan it is highly encouraged to share food with them. In fact, some acts committed during the daylight hours of Ramadan REQUIRE taking care of homeless and poor in order to repent. Maybe we could add each other though. I would love to learn more about your beliefs. There are a lot of different types of Pagan
DarkAnderebu 3 months ago
@dogmoon100 In no way shape or form do I suggest we forget the evils committed. What I do however suggest is that we all work together against those very evils. Even religious people hate what people have done in the name of their religion. I am a women's rights advocate, I have no problem with gay marriage, I love learning about other religions, yet I am a Muslim. This means I am stereotyped as someone who beats women, hates homosexuals, and wants to "kill the infidels." That is not Islam.
DarkAnderebu 3 months ago

TheWordsNotSpoken 1 year ago
Public school, Private, and Homeschool all are indoctrinating someone's kids. The question is rather, what doctrine is being taught, and is it the truth? Letting your kids make their own decision on what doctrine they decide to follow is the same thing. We have the freedom to decide on what doctrine to belief in. You can't get away from being influenced by someone: a guard, a teacher, a father or mother, a friend, a classmate, a youtube video, a youtube comment, a magazine, a music artist, etc.

@intrepidorator Another good question! "Pleasant" society is subjective without God though. "Better" has to come from a doctrine one holds already to make that kind of measurement claim. Every opinion/and absolute has to come from a foundation.

@Creationcreed Not pleasant, I said peasant as in the little people.

@Creationcreed
educational choice is the right of parents, not teachers, or government or even children
teachers mix political or social agendas into their teaching without parental consent
Government has shown itself willing to sacrifice education to accommodative unions and political agendas.
A publisher I know has told me of rampant manipulation of history book content to accommodate agendas.
If kids could chose their class, the most popular majors would be texting and video games.

@Creationcreed - Hmmm???
LogicRulestheDay 6 months ago
@LogicRulestheDay In a public school they will silence you if you talk about Jesus Christ without compromise, which will say to the student,"Religion is not welcome here!", which can make a child translate it as being disrespectful-bad-intolerant-religion is evil. Indoctrination happens when you are told what not to do, or even through a teachers silence on a topic. Not Informing is another form of indoctrination. Your view is just as indoctrinating as any other view out there, and exclusive.
Creationcreed 6 months ago
@Creationcreed ---Did you read my response or just knee-jerk reply?
How is teaching the critical thinking skills of logic and endevoring to present multiple sides of an issue, and then respecting the student's opinions after they've weighed the evidence - an exclusive form of indoctrination?
LogicRulestheDay 6 months ago
@LogicRulestheDay There is no such thing as an unbias teacher. Even when operating the classroom like that. Doing it that way is a doctrine itself. Just because I say it is a view of how to run things in the classroom: a law, doesn't mean it's bad. I'm all for reason and logic. I'm just saying whatever way u do it, it is with a view that THAT is the way we should teach them. From the mere fact that you will disagree w/ me later, makes your view exclusive.
Creationcreed 6 months ago
@Creationcreed -- inclusive – comprehensive vs. exclusive - omitting from consideration
As a family who has homeschooled via various methods of teaching (from unschooling to ‘Classical’ education) along with having investigated multiple learning styles and various forms of intelligence – I’d say homeschoolers have the most freedom to be the least ‘exclusive’ form of educators.
LogicRulestheDay 6 months ago
@LogicRulestheDay It is the least exclusive form of education, because you can touch on aspects of life they would never be educated on in regular public schools. I would rather have my kids participate in homeschooling, and I've witnessed parents and children do this...and they learn so much more in my opinion. There are the exception of homeschool: some kids seem to "lack" socially, but most are just as well-rounded, or even more, than other.
Creationcreed 6 months ago
@Creationcreed Between 80-90% of "Christian" kids leave the faith they were raised with by the time they go off to college. It's time we ask ourselves why. One clue, as Voddie Baucham says, "If you send your kids to Caesar for their education don't be surprised when they come back as Romans."
“I would rather have my kids...” So what’s keeping you from the sacrifices necessary to make this a reality?
LogicRulestheDay 6 months ago

LogicRulestheDay 6 months ago
@LogicRulestheDay Rethinking to what end? To be athiest, agnostic, relativist, Christian? From the Biblical worldview, you have to teach about God, and the scriptures, not as fairytales, but as literal truth. That doesn't exclude logic or reasoning, evidence, etc, that's actually part of it. But a Christian doesn't support throwing two sides out there, and leaving people/kids to themselves. We tell them the Bible truth: swaying them toward God, not away from, and ify about Him and the Bible.
Creationcreed 6 months ago
@Creationcreed --Rethink – in terms of how I apply scripture to various issues, interpretation of scripture, and giving additional, intentional thought to other scriptures (the whole of God’s word) on a given subject. Not necessarily change my basic opinion, but I have broadened or narrowed it because of their insightful arguments.
LogicRulestheDay 6 months ago
@LogicRulestheDay Asking questions, and whatnot, are great. And I commend u for pulling them out of public school to a more classical education. I would like to do the same for my kids. My pressupposition will be God and the Bible of course, but with it, good reasoned argument they can apply if theybup into an opposing view. Christian is an exclusive worldview, and intolerant(&thats good). Absolute truth is exclusive. They would still be well rounded: know about other belief systems out there.
Creationcreed 6 months ago
@Creationcreed – Honestly, as a mental health professional, youth minister, GS Troop leader & community participant, I’ve yet to meet a hmschld student who is anti-social (tho pub schools overflow w/them.) Some may be a bit ‘odd’, but not in any >% of the population. Most are precocious, intellectually curious, mature beyond their peers, well mannered & able to hold conversations across multiple generations on a vast array of topics.
LogicRulestheDay 6 months ago
@Creationcreed -- On the Myth of Un-socialization of Homeschooled Students --What utter lunacy it is to suggest that the herd mentality of unruly, immature children can impart good social skills to other children.
LogicRulestheDay 6 months ago
@Creationcreed My kids can’t get into heaven based on my believing; theirs’ must be a personal, reasoned, mature and tested faith. They will encounter many alternate worldviews and it behooves them to rationally consider other views, if they are to ‘give answer’ for why they believe what they believe and also what they don’t believe and why not. And a clearly defined worldview provides a measure for cultural influences and their own actions.
LogicRulestheDay 6 months ago

I never understood how anyone with at least two brain cells can be against vouchers unless of course they are members of the teacher's union.
zigzagzoo12 1 year ago
@zigzagzoo12
Finland doesn't have a voucher system. The school the kids go to (grades 1-9) are designated by the area they live in. The schools are tax funded. Books are free and pupils get one luch a day.
The maker of this video is wrong.

And that part about history.... You should totally check it out yourself... asshat.
The Prussians didn't become a superpower on private religious schools, they became a superpower becaue of Government intervention in Education.
Just accept that the population in the US is retarded from the beginning and is more interested in sex than history... and that's all to it.
Sottef 1 year ago
Actually the teaching in public schools on sex, pregnancy, birth control, abortion, sexually transmitted diseases and HIV is no more effective than the teaching on any other subject, with much misinformation. While working for the health department I found that teenagers and young adults think they know a lot because it was taught in school. But all most of them really know is how to have sex, and not much even about that. Their ignorance is truly startling and the consequences pretty sad.

Balsology 1 year ago
@Balsology
RandomEntertainmenYT 1 year ago
@RandomEntertainmenYT We are not getting into a philosophical debate on theology. Science is not philosophy.
Creation Science, Evangelism or Way of the Master are ALL non-objective sources to base an argument. Not to mention they aren't scientific.
You Idiot. Evolution DOES NOT state, does not infer and or imply that there is not a god. Evolution is about what life does once it already exists. Period.
Evidence OUTSIDE Biology proves beyond any doubt the Earth is billions of years old.
Balsology 1 year ago
@Balsology
RandomEntertainmenYT 1 year ago
@RandomEntertainmenYT Actually we have seen evolution happen but those of you who want to doubt evolution will of course deny it, evolution is ALWAYS happening.
It is clear to me now that you really have no concept of Evolution and or Science. I mean it's plainly clear based on that first statement.
I have not the time or the space (500 characters) to even begin to explain to you the evidence in Chemistry, Biology, Geology, Astro Physics, Physics, Astronomy, Mineralogy, Genetics...etc
Balsology 1 year ago
@Balsology
RandomEntertainmenYT 1 year ago
@RandomEntertainmenYT And you see there is the problem, a scientist can be a devout christian, I am one as well. HOWEVER A scientific explanation MUST BE one I can investigate, test or even observe. God is NEITHER of those.
Like Gravity: I could say Gods force is holding us down, or there is the invisible force called gravity that is based on the mass and density of an object which I can test and prove.
The former is not science, the latter is.
Intelligent design is not testable. Period.
Balsology 1 year ago
@Balsology Infact watch this series of 12 videos PBS Evolution 1 - Darwin's Dangerous Idea
It shows Darwin's scientific exploration that led him to his conclusion. God had nothing to do with his decision, he took an Objective scientific apporoach to answering how and why species exist where and the way they do (hence the origin of species).
