1- NEVER use iron (streightener) on waxed hair (i mean after putting wax or any other hair product)

Good question, that was my problem.

I do have a straightener now, however, and it makes this hairstyle much easier to do. I just put a lot of hairspray in, and before it dried I used a round brush to pull it into the upward curl. It took a while, you may brush out some of the hairspray.

I highly suggest investing in a straightener.

i style my hair like this every day, but in a different way.

i let it air dry, and then use a certain hair wax for the spikes, and after letting it sit for a bit, use my straigther to give it the nessecary flips. i might have to try your way to see how easier it is!
