i can respect that... i like the song but not the guitar solo....i noticed he has 2 other guitar players that do the song justice ...i think he should get in some more practice time or let the other tele players cover the solo...sometimes playing guitar all these years tends to make me more critical than most...hehe

I have been a fan of Robbie Robertson from his days in the Hawks and i have played guitar aprox. 50 years....this is the worst song i have heard in a long time...bad guitar playing and a terrible solo...this is not music......time to quit Robbie...go do something else

@Ingy007 i actually like it not the strongest live performance, the life he has lived has caught him up but the studio produced is really good, it iss till there but like all iconic singers we all have favourite periods of them so it sometimes take convincing when it is a little different. He could maybe skip his guitar solo

The muse has left Robbie Robertson and it doesn't look like he will ever get it back. Maybe he and Marty snorted the muse out but its well and gone. Look at the lyrics on Dixie, Cripple Creek, The Weight or Rocking Chair and compare any one of those to any lyrics he wrote since the band broke up and tell me it stacks up. I'm sorry but the muse comes and goes. Ask Bob Dylan even. Sometimes it stays as in Elvis Costello but other times...

I've been saying for awhile that Dawes are the closest thing to the band out there today. They were up at big pink in the fall (i visited a week later). The song is ok but I'm not going to hate on Robbie, he's 40 years past his songwriting peak...what do you expect? Always one of my favorite guitarist but not one of my favorite personalities.

But I can hear the Band playing the song in my head, and man, there's Helm's Texas voice, Manuel's high-pitched backing and saloon piano, Hudson's red hot organ swirling, Danko's fretless bass playing round lines, and of course, Robertson harmonizing and focusing on bringing up a helluva solo, at the same time subtle and menacing.

But Robertson & Dawes deliver, I give you that, a treat of a performance.
