Fucking awesome! This is the song I wished they had played at my high school graduation! I bought this record around that time and I thought it would be good BGM for a graduation ceremony but I love the THX 1138 video version too.

@Piggy2bacon I've always wondered what it would be like to have Lemos as a teacher. You should tell him that this song is a classic and ask him to please give you the lyrics, because I've listened to it about 1,000 times and can't quite decipher them all.
@geekengineer Big 10-4 I was lucky enough to get 2 of the limited metal ones that came with a patch/poster etc and unspooled unreleased material on the bottom.
For all Controlled Bleeding fans, Joe Papa, the person doing the vocals for this song, died in November 2009. Joe was a great guy, awesome vocalist, and a true artist! RIP Joe!
hahaha paul lemos is a friend of mine...he was my english teacher in highschool and we have recently connected again within the music scene....the mans a genius in more ways than one
I bought it from Amazon. Actually it came from one of their smaller affiliates (through Amazon Marketplace), but the CD was brand new. Amazon Marketplace has many niche sellers with some incredible rarities, including special pressings (Japanese, gold MFSL editions, etc.), used out-of-catalog titles and the like.
Except that the film is from1971, 7 years before Controlled Bleeding was founded and 19 years before the "Trudge" album was recorded...
But I agree, it fits the video like a glove. And when I saw this video for the first time, over a year ago, it made me order both the "Trudge" CD (I had to import it!) and the film's DVD (fortunately, I could find a domestic edition). And YouTube and the media labels still get freaky about copyright issues...
I was watching the DVD with commentary and as I recall they said when the crew saw the wipeout at 6:00 here everyone gasped and though the stuntman had to have died. They spoiled the shot by running to his aid and the stuntman was a little miffed. I think they used the shot just edited out the part where people rushed on the set.
What? And get rid of that awesome Vangelis soundtrack? I'm into many styles, and just as I thought this song fit this video perfectly, I can't imagine anything better to fit "Blade Runner" than what Vangelis did for it.
What/who was that guy with the long hair and a beard at the end of the film? He was sitting on some pipes as THX1138 was running by. Before the two officers showed up at the end.
They refer to them as 'shell dwellers', midgets that live in the outer shell, one is also held in the white wall-less prison earlier on in the movie. They seem to be genetic mutants or cast-offs, also proto-Jawas I suppose, Lucas seems to like those characters - the little people.
I remember seeing what i think was some of C.B.'s earliest live gigs at the infamous "Blind Pig" in Massapequa. You had to knock into the quitar player to get past him to take a leak. They had a song called..."Someone shit on my birthdaycake."It might have been in the junk box as well. "Blind Pig" also hosted the "Tomcats" who evolved into the Stray Cats with a different, and may I say, .. less talented lineup.
Great music. I was searching for the THX chase scene and this music fits it VERY well. I loved the music in the genre of a Depeche Mode type band. Excellent music and a cool choice of footage. This was a great find!
Although the soundtrack fits well with the audio (great job on that!), I personally think this is far below CB's better stuff. For me, the Lungs tracks & Headcrack sessions were fantastic.
I still keep coming back to watch this video ... the Controlled Bleeding track laid over the THX-1138 final escape scene works just so well. I mean it just meshes with the urgency of THX's effort to run the gauntlet and get out of the clone like atmosphere of the sub level society. Fookin great vid.
Im either very lucky or a huge loser for finding Controlled Bleeding. Not to mention the very conservative place i live. The Rio Grande Valley. it sucks. i was more people would listen to it down here. Good video.
Wow this song bought back some memories, looks really good with the vid too. If you guys like this song also check out skin chamber, it's alot heavier and raw though compared to this tune. I used to live a couple of towns over from these guys on long island. They have alot of material out there, all pretty much good stuff, some a lil different though....
I agree ... I just wish that the first few seconds of the static at the start up of this video were either corrected or chopped off. I'd like to see it start when the music starts.
Sorry Joey ... just chalk it up to my OCD. I've got an eye for detail and perfectionism. Wasn't trying to knock your video or the brilliant merging of the Controlled Bleeding track with this scene from THX-1138. (SUBSPINE - formerly watts242)
Cool... my F'd up "aesthetic" is really liberating, if not hack-ish, I used to spend WAY too much time in claustrophic editing suites and just gave up trying to make vids perfect! (.)(.)
I think what really blows me away on this video, is that the stuntman who does the final motorcycle crash at the end of this video walked away unscathed. No injuries. Incredible ... and here I thought that it was a test dummy. Info comes from the commentary on the two disc set.
mobius1aic ... Heh heh heh ... I know what you mean. I've come back time and time again to watch this video. Finally went out and purchased the 2-disc Director's Cut of THX 1138 because of it.

I agree with you Industreal ... I used to work at Wax Trax! Records back in 1991. Chicago, Illinois was the hub of Industrial Music and EBM back then. Great music came out of there from the mid 1980's to approximately 1991. Front 242, Laibach, etc.
Go to the following website "Discogs" (discogs dot com) as they will not allow me to post a URL here on YouTube, and enter "Controlled Bleeding" as the artist name in the Search Box at the top of the page. You'll get a match back for it with two results. Choose either one to learn more about this group. Enjoy! watts242
Whoops! My bad ... sorry about that. And this coming from a guy who worked at Wax Trax! Records in Chicago back in 1991. Listened to Front 242 more so than Controlled Bleeding. I do remember them playing this a lot in the store on Lincoln Avenue though. :)
Nice job on pairing the chase scene from THX 1138 to Controlled Bleeding's "Trudge" ... works quite well. Adds an "urgent" or "anxious" feel to this scene. Thanks for pairing them together. Take care.
Anybody know the origin of THX-1138-WITHOUT LOOKING IT UP ???
It was Lucas' ph. number in San Fran,CA (849-1138);and also appeared in "American Graffiti" as John Milner's license plate number THX-138.
This is the kind of random trivia that clogs the brain of people 48 as of 2 days ago.

Red and white in time of silence
