She could tell dat I wasn't really enjoyin it so she took it out n we did sumthin else (thank god!). I just couldn't believe dat those big companies r takin sumthin so beautiful like swan lake n makin it sumthin dats not even part of d ballet n d true story n makin it...well kinda cheap. I just really wnt every1 2 no d real awesum story of swan lake!!! Anyways afterwards I told my friend d true, beautiful story of swan lake n she was just sooo surprised! Like there were sum parts she didn't no
Don't u just hate wat sum companies r doin 2 dis beautiful ballet? I was over @ my friend's house n she asked me if I wantd 2 c swan lake n I was like sure. I thought it was gnna b like dis because, you know, I'm in ballet n she knows it (btw we're gnna do dis ballet!!! Hopefully I get the part of Odette! :D). So she puts in d movie n I'm just like WTF?!?! Dis isn't swan lake. N she said yes it is. But it was just like 1 of those chinese cartoon like pokemon n all dat crap!!!
@Aimeewinterfun2 pokemon is japanese for one thing. I think what you are seeing is choreography. The Bolshoi Ballet, Boston Ballet, Royal Ballet, Paris Opera, NYCB, ABT, PNB, and SFB are not always going to do it the same way. Every company has a choreographer, who wants to do something different. This original ballet was written years ago, so unless the choreography was passed down it will not be exact. They are not "ruining" the ballets. If you don't like it don't watch it.
@Karen1andKaren2 No I love watching different ballets of different companies and watching their different choreography! What I was saying is that my friend was watching some stupid anime cartoon of Swan Lake. So chill alright? And sorry I didn't know Pokemon was from Japan. As you can see I am NOT a big fan of them. Nor do I care for them. Thank you and good day.
ok if you freeze fame at the 59 sec-1min mark. You can see the shear fabric used in the bodice of the swan costume. So she already has the bodice on. The hair, yeah i agree, i'm guessing it's an attachment they just yanked off as she put on the head piece. the dress can be made to disassemble for a quick slip off, while at the same time squeezing into the tutu. Was there a shoe change? Dont think so. To have everything done lighting fast and nothing fall off or look weird, that is talented.
This is so amazing! I get goose-bumps everytime! She is my 100% role model! I don't care what those overly critical people say! She pours life into her characters while still getting the steps perfect! I love the ABT pretty much the same as the Kirov!
@AliB4490 I know!! The hair I assume could easily be a wig but what blows my mind is the pointe shoes; she was wearing flats at first, nobody could lace pointe shoes up THAT quick. Crazy amazing!
@AliB4490 There is NO costume change in an instant. This segment of the video is edited and you can plainly see the edited part when viewing a quality DVD (not YouTube). This type of transition from one scene to another, in this case from one scene to the same scene without the camera being moved, is called a segue (pronounced seg-way). Once Rothbart pushes Odette into the grotto and he disappears, watch the Ivy leaves and you will see the transition. Most people never see this.
She has beautiful hair at the beginning when it's down.
