  • I love Nicky Gumbel. I miss Alpha Course on God TV. What a great teacher. Go Nicky!!!!

  • His stories of his adoption of Christianity are inconsistent. At one point claims he was an atheist but here he states he was believer but didn't feel comfortable living the faith. Gumbel is dishonest just like most Christians.

  • I think is healthy to focus on the fruit of Alpha. At least they have taken the time to develop material that is useful and friendly for the lay worker in ministry. If there are issues, I don't think they are the first ones or the last ones to have them. At this point in life I haven't heard of a ministry that's perfect and don't have issues. My pastor used to say "If you find it, please don't go there because you could ruin it".

  • @EmploymentPrograms If you feel like that, why do you remain there? It will be more honorable to leave.

  • @christian771984 lol. that is all.

  • nicky Gumbel is a heretic. He's an advocate of a christianity lifestyle rather than repentance & also endorses the horrible toronto blessing. Also I heard him say that Jesus had evil thoughts which isn't scriptural. He also started the alpha curse which has fooled many people into thinking they're saved. Experience over repentance. Even the unsaved can be 'filled' with the holy ghost & speak in tongues etc. A gentle voice & manner doesn't mean holiness. Members of HTB, get out while you can.

  • @christian771984 perhaps its not written scripture that Jesus had evil thoughts. But I do believe that there was that wasn't recorded in the Bible (miracles of Jesus included). And maybe Nicky meant Jesus had evil thoughts in the context of talking about how human Jesus was, and how the devil tempted Him just as we are tempted as well. Anyway, I don't believe evil thoughts that pop into your mind on their own are a sin, I believe the Devil plans them there and dwelling on them makes sin

  • @afrowearing (ran out of characters).. to continue, and who knows, maybe Jesus was tempted by the beautiful babes of Jerusalem too, I'm sure he appreciated beauty when he saw it. It's all flesh, and one of the points of God becoming man was to show us this life isn't impossible as well as give us a WAY and provide the ultimate sacrifice. But at the end of the day, why are condeming this? Praise God because through this ministry, many have been led to Christ! (read next post...)

  • @afrowearing ...(continued.. again). My point at last is this: "But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this, I rejoice" - Philippians 1:18. So, let's all chill and praise God.

  • a priest who at the start of his career refused to preach at poor parishes ..... hmmmm

  • I am a member of Holy Trinity Brompton, where NIcky GUmbels preaches. I can tell you quite honestly that behind the scenes the knives are out. They are such control freaks. People who disagree are punished by being excluded from all social events, and can even be surrounded by bullies and physically removed.

The real church does not have hierarchy - there is no abuse of power - as there is at HTB.

  • @EmploymentPrograms I dont believe you. If you succeeded in filming Nicky Gumbel physically beating his church members, posted it on YouTube and gave the link to me so that I could watch it - then I would believe you. But you can't do that, can you?

  • Does anyone know Nikki Gumbel's views on evolution?

  • @sweetsweatyfeet Pretty sure he rejects evolution. I read his book "Challenging Lifestyle" and Im not sure, but I think he touched on the subject of evolution, and as far as I can remember, he does not believe in it. He is also generally quite a conservative christian, so he is probably a creationist.

  • I like Joyce as much as Nickie because they have walked in my shoes when being in recovery and have the understanding of my journey and don't throw it back in anyone's face!! All is positve and that's what matters the most in my life!!
