  • The scooter does balance by itself on grass (it dampens the movement). Sometimes it does start to oscillate as it is tuned to have the weight of a person on the platform.

Gearbox backlash is not significant enough to cause problems. New riders notice it more but only for a few minutes as they get used to riding.

  • looks awesome mate brilliant work , does the scooter have the ability to balance on the spot smoothly? , did u struggle with the back lash in the wheelchair gearbox's ?

  • my head hurts all ready.

  • ThankYouThankYouThankYouThankYouThankYouThankYou for putting all of the build info on a page for us. I will build a self balancing transporter soon with help from your site.

  • I want to build one!

  • Nope. If anything fails I fall off. It hasn't happened yet.

  • Any redundancy?

  • Instead of complicated computerized device, analog sensors can be used in much easier DIY manner. Is that your solution?

  • WTF?

  • sedatkabu, I made it :)

  • ohh man where did u get that ?

  • And this one only uses one hand... Segways are two-handed.

  • you can simply put the "handle bars" in the middle and make it 2 handed..

  • Dude, that is sick!!..

  • .<b>Probably a heck of a lot cheaper in price then a Segway :-))

  • Hmmm...a homeade segway?
