What a great restoration! I have never heard an 1890's H & H sound even close to this. The Rule company did a great job. I never of suspected the sesources are to limted!
Your playing is simply stunning. I have so enjoyed your posts! I spent high school and college years in the organ shop of Henri Lahaise & Son in Boston. The Lahaises were in the employ of the Hooks from the 1880's through their close in 1936. I have had the pleasure of working on and playing many fine examples. Yours is just resplendant. I've got a few videos at my current organ company's site at "Pellandorgan". Some nice organs to see there - you may like! Thanks again, Eric
Thanks very much! I'm especially glad to receive your comment, because it has let me find out about the videos of you and your talented family making such great music! Congratulations and best wishes for your continued success!
You are exactly right. I added the Swell to Great 4' coupler in the last few measures, since it transfers to the pedal as well, it serves to reinforce the pedal line, the pedal division only having the single 16' foot SubBass.
Sorry for the confusion. 1553 is the organ's opus number in the list of organs built by the Hook & Hastings Company. The organ was built in the year 1893. We were very fortunate in the high quality of the restoration done by Bradley Rule.
Thanks for you kind comments and for watching. Congratulations on your own videos which I am enjoying. I've posted the organ's stoplist to the notes for this video.
Fantastic playing and what great pedal technique! Enjoy your vids!!
