Hello im visiting Okinawa in May and I would like to Visit this Tea House. Can you tell me the location or the japanese name of the establishment so I can look it up,
I'm not an expert, but some facts from internet: Sanshin covered in snake skin neck is made of black kuruki wood circular shape, smaller size shorter length played exclusively in Okinawa pick - insert finger into hollow comma-shaped pick Shamisen: covered in cat or dog skin neck is made of the same wood as taiko drums (sakura?) rectangular shape, larger size played all over Japan pick - shaped like a small paddle
sounds nice, nifee debiru!

I did a bit of research about nihongami, but I'm not really sure. I'm sorry but I don't know!

Ah, this is the name of the song... Thanks Chichiri520! For those of us that are kanji-challenged, it's read よなぐに こうた - Yonaguni Kouta.

so what exactly is the difference between the sanshin andthe shamisen?
all i can think of is that it sounds a bit softer than a shamisen
