  • Hello im visiting Okinawa in May and I would like to Visit this Tea House. Can you tell me the location or the japanese name of the establishment so I can look it up,

    thanks!

  • Un video muy bonito! Felicitaciones por tocar tan bien el Shamisen

  • Sugoi desu ne, great feeling right here. Sanshin still amazing..

  • I wish the the full vertion of this I love this.

  • Have they got themselves done up in nihongami?

  • I did a bit of research about nihongami, but I'm not really sure. I'm sorry but I don't know!

  • 与那国小唄

  • Ah, this is the name of the song... Thanks Chichiri520! For those of us that are kanji-challenged, it's read よなぐに こうた - Yonaguni Kouta.

  • so what exactly is the difference between the sanshin andthe shamisen?

all i can think of is that it sounds a bit softer than a shamisen

  • I'm not an expert, but some facts from internet: Sanshin covered in snake skin neck is made of black kuruki wood circular shape, smaller size shorter length played exclusively in Okinawa pick - insert finger into hollow comma-shaped pick Shamisen: covered in cat or dog skin neck is made of the same wood as taiko drums (sakura?) rectangular shape, larger size played all over Japan pick - shaped like a small paddle
  • thx alot!

never knew shamisen was made out of cat or dogskin xD

  • That is not shamisen that is sanshin.

  • I did some research, ane you're right! Thanks for the tip, darthsion71!

  • You are welcome happy to help.
