Ari drove this 1988. Group B rally cars (which the 405 T16 is) were banned on rally events and Peugeot decided to attend to this event with the car. 2.0 litre turbo engine with about 750bhp and 550Nm torque.

Ari's time on the track was 10:47 back then which is pretty amazing. Current record on the unlimited category is 10:12.

Actually this IS "Climb Dance" and it is, in fact, Ari Vatanen making the Peugeot 405T16 dance while climbing the Pikes Peak Hill Climb. Show me a drifter who can do a corner, with no barriers/guardrails, while going 150+kph, on gravel, one handed, as Ari does in this video. Yes, drifting looks cool, but compared to Group B rallying it's about as amazing as a Toyota Yaris stuck between 1st and Reverse being parked by an old lady. (no offence to old ladies)

Not 'drifting' but just plain driving really fast. 'Drifting' is something slow drivers invented in order to look cool even when going slowly.

No hate on the sport really but it just ticks me off when all the teenagers who saw the fast and furious now think 'drifting' is a godly technique when in fact it is not. Sure it looks cool but that's about it.

You're right. "Drifting" is mostly just playing. You can use engine power to help push you around a corner but... The laws of physics are against you. You only have so much weight on the drive wheels and a given coefficient of friction. About the best you can hope for is to improve the net force vector. But the "cost" is tremendous in terms of drag and tire wear. Just ask Rhys Millen about what happened to the rear tires on his Hyundai Genesis this year.
