  • Animals usually burry into the moist substrate (moss in this case) if they feel too dry. Use coconut husk/eco earth as bedding and keep it damp then he'll roam the cage. Use throw away lasagna pan to hold the substrate in the cage so it doesn't fall through the screen. Cypress mulch is a larger piece substrate which is good for keeping humidity too if you just spritz it with water daily like the coconut husk.

  • he is probably in the moss so much because there isn't enough humidity.... and your right they don't need any additional heat sorce but maybe give him some UVB. great cage though he has tons of room you should probab;y spread out the moss more though.

  • i cant wait for the hamburg reptile expo im gonna get a crestie there

  • Dont listen to idiots, newspaper is fine. Good looking tank, nice job. You could maybe fit a second one in there with him if you wanted. He hides under the moss because its not humid enough

  • @cmanclan101 check out my new video.

  • @cmanclan101 ur right newspaper is fine, but its better to have eco earth or repti bark to keep up the humidity

  • buddy u should never put news paper in cause if he licks the ink he can die not kidding

  • @markhogsvagen I think that he should take half of the moss off of the bottom.@lizardlover66 you should take a half coconut (buy at petco) turn it upside down, and put halfway up the cage with moss in it he'll go in it. :)

  • is that an exo terra tank

  • looks brill :)

  • you turned a 20 long side ways??? lol

  • the reason why he is under the moss is because it isn't humid enough in the tank or because its too cold.

  • do you use a humidifire

  • hey if u like this video check out my new vid

  • Im planning to get a crested gecko soon. How do you keep it hydrated?

  • you should consider getting an exo terra tank there much better

  • @paintballa417 how do you know, you didn't even see the temp?

  • @Hedgehogs24 sometimes the burrow under gruond because they are cold

  • cool setup dude

  • i love ur vidsn plz make more

  • A lot of geckos that first start looking plain come up with other patterns later. Mine looked plain forever and then as he shed he got more dalmation spots and harly patterns. Be careful on how many crickets you feed them. They should mostly be on Crested Gecko Diet. Rapashy has some good flavors to mix it up as well. And you actually CAN have lights on them. It's beneficial if you have plants. I have a blue light on mine for night so I can see him. They have tropical lights for animals like him

  • @Truthtomyheart ya thanks i feed mine mostly cgd but i like feeding them like three or four ckickets once a week, you should check out my vid of my new gecko

  • I have been breeding crested gecko for a few years. Your setup looks nice the only problem you might have is feeding. It might be hard for it to find crickets. Just so you know it looks like your gecko is a female.

  • thanks, i dnt feed him alot of crickets, but when i do i hand feed. she is not a good eater

  • @lizardlover66 is that a good way go get em to calm down.?

  • did i say i was crying, it ddnt even hurt, so stfu

  • wow hes clearly way more educated than you, because you spelt doosh bag wrong! you can go cry to your mommy with your straight F report card now!

  • you spelt douche wrong dick shit stupid nerdy fat kid = base

  • I am not sure but I think he is burrowing under the moss because it is either two cold or not humid enough...plz dont think I am trying to be a no it all I am just saying wat I think the prob is...

  • ya u might be right,idk

  • fuck u.

  • kid wtf is the point in putting that u stupid lil shit stirrer baxbeast ur just a dick hes helping ppls and all u can do is call him shit...

  • @BAXBEAST wow, you just pick on people on youtube, because in real life your just a pussy with no friends. Please stop hating on videos and critisizing people about who they are, because we are all different, and obviously you don't understand that, and you want everyone to be like you and like you, but no one really does. Go find some friends and a job, and don't you think it's time to move out of your mom's basement, calling people neards on youtube, only because they're wearing a watch?

  • @Hedgehogs24 thanks for that, i know i used to be kindof a dork but that was like two years ago

  • love ur double chins (:

  • a little more info for you is that you might want to black out the sides to make it a little darker for him. That is why he is hiding. They love the dark places from what I am told. Try it and see if he hangs out more on the plants and not the bottom of the cage. Only because the crickets hang down there and can bite on him. Just a thought. I love the tank.. Take a look at my new one. I will have some in there soon.

  • do not put a new gecko with a male crested gecko. Males Fight and if you get a female gecko under 35 grams to put in the tank, he could breed with her and make her egg bound and she could possibly die. If you want a new gecko you need to properly quarantine it for 30-40 days in a separate cage. Males can not go with males and please think about if you decide to get a female because you want to breed, please be prepared. Females can lay up to 16 or more eggs a year. Do not put smaller geckos in.

  • ummm. thanks.:P

  • well didnt you say you wanted to put another mate in there?

  • nice looking

  • thnx. u think i could get another and mate in there?

  • nope lol

  • lol but ya you might be able to
