  • Let the people decide. I'm sure the people will decide on Putin!

  • Russians choose: humanity not barbarism

  • life is random. You never know. I prefer Putin. He was a strong leader.

  • DEATH 2 THE ZIONIST JEWISH REGIME OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ND ITS ILLEGITIMATE SON ISRAEL. LONG LIVE THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN LONG LIVE HEZBOLLAH LONG LIVE ALL THE MUJAHIDEENS THT R FIGHTING THE EVIL MURDEROUS GREEDY ND SATANIC REGIMES OF USA nd ITS ILLEGITIMATE SON ISRAEL.

  • ...figures...

  • let me guess.. if ppl want and vote for someone and fully wana keep, for some reason it isn't good?

personally that shit u guys have in the US with only 2 terms is retarded, if ppl vote then let them vote someone for 15 terms

  • israel pigs were buying misssles from Spain back then to exterminate poor Palestine and terrorize them. Even though onu restaate that was ilegal to sell weapons to these countries.

ONU, US is ALL FAKE. fooking usa, who they are to question everything, they are just stupids, never did a good.

  • Our world is too fucked up, time to choose sides, I choose Russia.

  • Comment removed

  • what the hell did i say bad about russia? I kept defending Putin for the last hour and criticized the US for interferring in the politics of other countries. Go fuck urself.

  • I disagree with you, but for once, I'm going to give you a good HERE, HERE.

  • Thanks :).

  • Noticed some of my comments were deleted after being critical over Putin becoming possible President for Life, just with a "democratic", totalitarian fashion.

Russia Today likely censored the comments. Gee, wonder why.

  • RT don't censor comments and it's known long time.... You are clown, playing "victim"..

  • Comment removed

  • Lack of arguments, dumb .. yes of course, american.. I see.

  • soory my english is retarded. usa is really fucked up since a long time ago.

    I prefer Russia always.

  • So you believe someone whom once stated Russia was going to nuke the USA on the first day of the year 2000? Alex Jones stated it on the eve of December 31st, 1999.

Yet since he is now promoted by RT, I guess you didn't seem to care about that.

  • No, I don't care about you, fool.

  • So my comments just "disappeared"?

  • Looks like we have new student for the remedial democracy class. Join your fellow classmates Zimbabwe, Pakistan, Nicaragua and the like in room 101.

  • I find it hard to believe the 9/11 "Truth" movement happily like RT to promote their propaganda. But say nothing about Putin preparing to rule Russia until 2024, basically President for Life for the possible Dear Leader of Russia.

The arch "Truther" Alex Jones apparently is also a fraud when it comes to pretending to care about Putin's KGB credentials too.

  • Gotta love that hammer and sickle "democracy".

  • Why not?

  • Putin is greatest leader in the World, Russia revive as phoenix from ash.

    All Hail Putin !!!

  • Russia is fucked

  • There was no edgy qeustions because the press has been well nutured to accept the party line without question.

  • says a guy from Jew S A.

  • Russia is DEMOCRACY, america is NOT! In America u can BUY their elected and then they do what u want instead of they promised to the voters. It is one party system, different rhetoric, but OWNED by SAME corporate interest.

In Russia, they vote and get what they want, that IS democracy. Check what chomsky says about us "democracy"

  • A democracy doesn't include a leader whom wishes for his people to get elected to be "President for Life" over and over.

  • You are stupid, sir. And of course you are american, it's explains it.

In USA president just doing what musters ordering. 2 candidates every election are just 2 hands of one body. USA is a fake "democracy", only illusion of it.

Second. If Putin is doing right things, rising every sphere of Russia, rising life's standarts, etc.. WHY he can't be elected? Don't you think that we know better who we want to see as president? It's not your stupid american deal. Enjoy Obama, loser...

  • Stop blathering on your arm chair Igor. Look who is justifying Putin to run for 2024. Would I want any sitting American President to be in office that long? No way.

Are you part of the Nashi cyber wing pushing obvious anti-American disinformation in order to justify possible world war Igor? You say you want "peace", but I think you want war with my country.

  • at least Putin is smarter then all your last politicians put together, most Russians thing good about Americans, some people even want to be like them....until they go on YouTube and get sworn at, or just meet a bad American, America is the one with anti-Russian propaganda, its the only country that thinks Putin is evil, its kind of funny, people with their imagination thinking hes going to take over the world! Canadians like Russia, and you could even learn Russian in some places

  • When country choosing "military way" - it's a failed country. Because EVERY adequate person, who knows many about "management" know how to rule the country WITHOUT wars and "external threats". In this case, USA is a totally failed country, because it's foreign policy based on wars. Russia's policy is oppositely based on peaceful cooperation and cultural friendship. Though media propaganda (as a constant part of US elite policy) will try to image Russia as a threat, because it's bad for them.

  • Bullshit.

  • 2 words, bill clinton. The idea of setting term limits for president is stupid at best. It forces good prezs out and bad ones to come in. Like Bush! If the population hates the incumbent, vote him/her out. In Russia's case, they love Putin. If down the road he does something stupid like idk, invade iraq, russians can get rid of him.

  • It prevents misuse of the office.

  • No it does not. And the Bush presidency proved that. Take a good presidency and replaced him with a retarded one. Good for u america.

  • So we'll vote Obama out in 2012. All what YOU are stating that it's okay for a democratic leader to become authoritarian as what Putin's really doing.

You really think the American people want all those government-run Czars?

  • Yes, its fine. In many other countries, Presidents and Prime Ministers are allowed to run several times until they fail to be reelected or resign. Putin worked outside his career. He was a kgb agent, diplomat, civil servant, lawyer, and bureaucrat. As much as i dislike Yeltsin, he chose his successor carefully unlike Karl Rove who picked someone dumb and stupid.

  • So Putin's just a typical career politician, just like his American counterparts such as a certain late Ted Kennedy.

Just with a secret firing squad. That's democratic? Even without any allege secret firing squads?

I guess it must be okay to be a corrupt career politician.

  • Putin likes politics. Big whoop. Maybe its the ppl who r good at politics that become presidents? Have u ever thought of that logic? I dont want my PM to know nothing about politics. Our former PM in Canada Jean Chretien was in politics for over 40 years and thats average. Are we totalitarian too? Ted Kennedy was a good politician. Bush isnt. Firing squards? Where? Stalin is dead btw. Putin is fighting against corruption.

  • Me thinks Putin ought to get a real job, and stop occupying whatever high ranking Russian position, likewise with his American counterparts whom follow the same way, just without the allege firing squads of their critics.

  • You're telling me Karl Rove picked Obama? Man you are brainwashed.

  • No, bush. Jeez, get ur own politics right. Wait, dont tell me u think obama is stupid. Oh, im sure harvard churns out many stupid graduates a yr;).

  • That's what YOU implied.

  • Karl Rove is a Republican so is bush. He kinda chose to be Bush's campaign advisor. I didnt imply that Obama is stupid. Sure, he produced little change but that doesnt make him dumb.

Putin has a real job. Its called Prime Minister. What firing squad r u talking about.

  • How about his critics ending up being killed or do you believe some BS disinformation stating how the CIA "killed" Putin's critics?

Apparently, people like YOU justify authoritarianism, if it's a democratic way that is.

  • I dont believe the CIA is killing Putin's critics. Cant explain the killings of his critics but doubt he is involve.

How am I justifying authoritarianism? All im saying is any head of state in ANY country should be allowed to run more than twice until he/she resigns, gets booted out by the party, or fails to win reelection.

  • How many body bags of Bush's critics ended up like Putin's? Please tell me, because many of them ended up voting for Obama.

  • Let me counter that by asking u a question. How many Russian troops died from fighting a needless war under Putin? There are 4343 US troops died because of Bush's war in Iraq. If they had known they were gonna die in this war prior to enlisting, the majority if not all of them would become bush's critics too.

  • I notice how you Lefties like to bring up the number of dead U.S. troops. Even though I would like to see no deaths of American troops, that number isn't on the level of troops lost in Vietnam or the American civil war.

  • So you're only pro-war if it's your boy Putin guiding Russian troops into Chechnya or into Georgia?

  • Personally, i thought Russia should not have recognized Abkhazia and South Ossetia. However, it was Georgia that attacked a Russian plane first. I know u'll say im being biased but I took a political military course ran by an ex- NATO general in university. Believe me, Georgia attacked Russia 1st.

I favoured Russia in the Kosovo war cuz i dislike the idea of states separating. If Kosovo can separate from Serbia, so can Quebec from Canada. It creates a bad precedence.

  • So what YOU are stating is that the Russian military were IN Georgia in those two provinces first?

Hmm, why would they be there FIRST? They WANTED this to happen.

  • No, im saying that the Georgian troops attacked the Russian military plane first in fears that they themselves will be attacked.

  • Russian military is bigger than Georgian military, why would YOU believe that the Georgians could be able to DO SOMETHING that is actual aggression?

Isn't Georgia about the size of one of those mid-Western U.S. states? You think THEY have all the man power in the world to do what YOU claim they did?

  • Georgia get A LOT of military assistance from the US. Equipment, aid etc etc. It makes this small country/military look big. Another example is taiwan. For many decades, taiwan has prepared for war against mainland china. The taiwanese ppl believe with the US military assistance in equipment, they can defeat china. U'd be surprise what goes on in the minds of some of these ppl.

  • Really? Last time I checked, the USA didn't see Russia as a foe. Oh, also why isn't the USA really interested in supporting Taiwan if what your ridiculous claims to be are true?

Last time I checked, the KMT in Taiwan has been paling around with the mainland gov in China.

  • Oh, also the pro-independence Taiwanese leader was jailed on corruption charges too. But I didn't hear any U.S. leaders complain about it.

Even the so-called imperial National Endowment for Democracy CELEBRATED hounding pro-independence Taiwanese leaders.

  • Thats cuz the pro independence leader chen shui bian is unpopular and could not stand for reelection cuz of his low approval ratings. Prior to chen party's defeat in the presidential race of 08, he had already been convicted of corruption. Any US leader both republican or democrat would be stupid to stand by this corrupt man.

  • But the KMT is corrupt too. It's current leader was charged with allege corruption when he was Mayor of the city he ran.

  • Right, both parties r corrupt. It is a cyclical process. Taiwan isnt rly a democracy as American leaders, republican and democrat, like to believe. It is as dictatorship as Belarus or Iran. I've came to realize that democracy is not just about elections. U need a lot more than just that.

  • I do not think the USA or Taiwan are dictatorships like Belarus or Iran. It's just too much of the same old, same old.

We don't need more parties, because that'll just bring in more of the same. Which is why I didn't trust any third parties because they sounded about the same toward each other if they had the same power.

Preferably, I wish we'd just be a bunch of Party Poopers and be a bit more independent.

  • I've many taiwanese friends as an asian person. All of them consider taiwan as a dictatorship or at least a semi democracy. Its return to China is inevitable and rly not much different from iran or belarus. The election of 04 in taiwan, just like iran, is quite disputable. Bian practiced a lot of belarus style censorship as prez. However, Taiwan's democracy is new and just started in 1950 ish. The crop of candidates in 08 were all brand new on the federal level. Its not same old same old lol.

  • So if you believe that about Taiwan, why justify Putin doing the same dance with Russia then?

  • I never said I didnt like it ;). The reason im ok with this is because I accept the fact that democracy is not a one size fits all tshirt that is suitable for all countries. Every country has its own style, culture, political systems etc etc. It would be ignorant of me to say my systems works here and i want u to use it in taiwan or russia. At the end of the day, democracy cannot be done overnight as both countries have illustrated.

  • 2nd part.We may think it suxs for them not to have democracy but it may just be fine for them. And i've been consistent on this. I've criticized my liberal friends for trying to promote democracy on china. Every country has a different governing system. We cant all be the same. And we should be more accepting of countries that r not democratic so long as they do not hurt us. By trading with them, we can at least open their markets up and give a better life to their citizens.

  • Most Chinese dissidents are former party members themselves. The people whom led the Tianamen Square were moderate party members and current Preimer of China was involved with them.

Same deal with the Dalai Lama. He was also close with Mao as well. I say make business friendly at home, perhaps we'd control our debt spending and stop outsourcing jobs to Asia.

  • Yes but they were moderate members. The protest i believed were planned months b4 in advance.

Dalai Lama was close to Mao Zedong until Tibet was liberated (and dont go crazy when i say that). I'm part Japanese and NOT from China. Yeah, i agree with your last sentence. Those jobs should be kept in the USA. Even the high speed trains California and Obama introduced should be made there.

  • I also think it's stupid we should start a trade war with China just to keep those jobs.

That's what Obama's stupidly doing. He's too much of a pro-union ideologue. That's the big problem, and not very friendly pro-business.

  • If the US does not see Russia as a foe, they would not be supporting a missile shield in Eastern EU and backing Georgia in that manner.

The KMT just got into power in March 2008. Prior to that, the DPP which wants independence for Taiwan was in power for 8 years. The US is interested in supporting Taiwan because they view it as asia's few democracies. However, the taiwan ppl also need to do their part to defend the island via conscription, which has ended under the KMT.

  • Er, is it not for Iran?

  • If it is for Iran, does it have to be in Eastern Europe? Cant they place it in Western EU? Or the Middle East like Egypt? It is distrusting.

  • I thought it was also clear that under Bush, he wanted to give the anti-missile technology to Russia too.

  • But that deal failed unfortunately. Russia wanted the missile in some ex-soviet state and bush refused. Not that im blaming anyone here cuz i dont like this program in the 1st place.

  • So what would be the difference? Poland, Ukraine and Azerbaijan all in range of Iran's missiles that are allegedly been able to reach toward Western Europe.

  • Really? Iran is gonna declare war on azerbaijan or ukraine? I think ur smarter than that. If they do launch a nuke on Ukraine, Russia would be pissed cuz there r many pro kremlin ppl and russian expats there. Same thing with Poland. U would just get the EU and Russia to gang up on Iran.

  • I just mentioned Iran has the missile technology North Korea has which can extend all the way to the West Coast of the USA.

Any country that Iran deams unfriendly toward it, whatever it might be will do typical saber rattling at that country.

  • I think Iran, if it ever gets a nuke, will be strategic. Hit Ukraine or Poland and they'll be getting Russia pissed.

North Korea doesnt have nukes (unless Iran is secretly giving them) and I know u'll yell at me for saying this. The country is truly broke. Those tests u saw on tv have ALL been failures and a big waste of money they could have used to feed their children. This country cant even power their capital Pyongyang. Last time i check, u need electricity to manufacture a bomb.

  • Er, so why doesn't Russia do something then? How about stop selling any missiles to Iran and so Israel won't have to worry about it?

  • Selling missiles is not illegal, moron. If US media brainwashed you about "Iran's threat" - it's YOUR problem. US during 5 years militarised and financed Sukashvili, which resulted in immoral war and bombing of civillian town with peacekeepeing camp, and other crimes..

But this is UNCOMFORTABLE information for american, so go back into wonderland and be a manipulated fool..

  • So let me get this straight, it's only okay for your boy Putin to sell missiles but likely wrong for the USA to back Georgia?

Oh, btw, you also believe this crazy man's theories on how 9/11 was an "inside job":

    watch?v=LpHY6nF73-U

That's what HE said about your boy and now you believe every word he has to say because RT is now promoting his same BS.

  • No, FOOL. Unlike Iran, Georgia ALREADY began WAR, killed and bombed civillians, and CONTINUE to get arms from USA for next aggression.

    FOOL. stupid FOOL.

  • And I want to inform you, that I'm not interested to argue with fool. Bye bye, loser.

  • Russia sells missiles to iran and the US to Georgia. However, the US does a LOT more than that. They give Georgia military aid, undercut the equipment prices, training, assistance etc. Iran has not attacked anyone unlike Georgia. And no offence to my Russian friends here, we dont know how well those missiles work. Iran is also not in Usa's backyard. And medvedev has signaled a willingness to compromise. If the us stops selling weaponary to georgia, he would rethink the arm sales to iran.

  • Igor, many of these countries buy weapons from Russia cuz the US has a weapons embargo against them. I dont see why cant Russian sell equipment to various countries. And if they dont, these countries will just buy from China. It makes no difference. To be honest, I wish Canada would also buy some of our equipment from Russia instead of the US. The navy helicopters we bought in 2003 have not even arrived yet due to silly delays. We gotta wait till 2013 for transportation helicopters. Bullshit!

  • You justify authoritarianism by stating it's okay for Putin to literally run Russia for the rest of his life, hence making him President for Life not in open title.

  • Putin didnt say exactly that he was going to run until 100 years old. Like i said nicely b4, in countries like france, england, canada, italy and many more, prime ministers/presidents are allowed to run for office several times until they fail to be elected. Are these countries all authoritarian?

  • But Putin isn't as young, and having him as Russia's leader until 2024 well, makes him look a career politician with an authoritarian look.

Likewise, I'm damn tired of seeing the same faces of leaders in other countries and even here in the USA.

  • Yeah, but he would have to get reelected tho. Putin is popular too. Ppl like him. Isnt democracy about the majority of the ppl? I do understand what u r saying. Berlusconi of Italy is at 72 yrs old and he is at his 3rd or 4th term. Many of our former PMs (Chretien, Trudeau, Martin) in Canada ran for a 3rd term at 60+. I understand ur tired of seeing the same faces in other countries. But how does it affect u?

  • More of what you said only translates into allowing corrupt career politicians stay in their positions of power basically forever.

That's democracy? Why do you think people in the USA are upset with those in Congress? It's not because they are Republicans or Democrats. It's because they are corrupt morons.

Likewise, Putin is just like that with a more authoritarian flavor.

  • Only if they r reelected. And u never know, United Russia could kick Putin out as leader if they feel someone else might be better. It happens quite often. Look at Tony Blair. Our former PM Chretien got booted out by his own party even tho his ratings were high and won 3 majority govts.

Isnt the US a republic? Ah. And no, its because of a 2 party system and the powerful lobbyist.

Putin may do things at the expense of others but he gets things done and Russians like it.

  • Typical excusing Putin for doing the same deal as his American counterparts are.

Shows where YOU are coming from. In my own backyard, my district here in the USA is known as the Waxman-Berman machine.

You think that's okay for these two Congressmen to run things for so long? Preferably, I would like to see term limits for Congresspeople.

  • Whats that suppose to mean? Its typical for a party to boot out a popular leader in many countries. Even in Australia it nearly happened under conservative john howard.

Congress politicians just like the perks of being in power. Im not American but i dont think im wrong in saying being a politician has a LOT of benefits. Idk much about limits for congresspeople. Maybe ppl in ur riding like waxman and berman?

  • Er, Waxman's behind the stupid cap and trade policies that would make the country go further into debt than it already is.

Why is it OKAY for ANY politician to be in office for so long but never have a real job to meet their public? YOU justify outright that with Putin, and YOU prefer it here in the USA.

I'm sure there are Canadian politicans that stayed too long in office that deserve to receive a pink slip.

  • If u choose to vote out Obama, thats ur choice. I didnt say anything about government run czars. Frankly, Russians shouldnt give a flying fuck what the US thinks about its democracy. How is a President removing term limits authoritarian? In Canada, our prime ministers run an average 3-4 terms. Tony Blair ran 3 times. Berlusconi of Italy is at 4. Are these ppl all authoriarian? Stop watching ur fox news garbage and do ur research b4 commenting.

  • Er, I didn't choose to vote for Obama, and I didn't like McCain neither, but I didn't like any of the other alternatives running as well.

And there you are with the stupid anti-Fox News garbage BS. You prefer a more overtly authoritarian version of a career politician. Says a lot where you come from.

  • I didnt ask u to vote for Obama. All i said was Putin is a legit candidate and u turn this around to Obama this Obama that. Ur mind is a lil whack.

Fox News is garbage and authoritarian. Notice how republicans, when in power, felt more comfortable with granting them with more interviews.

  • So you're justifying the path of a career politician?

I guess it's okay for you Lefties to promote and justify authoritarianism, so long as it's done democratically. That's why it seems you seem to like Putin, because he is like that.

Putin should get a real job in Russia, instead being a hapless politician. Likewise, Obama's buds in Congress better wise up or they too would be voted out of office in 2010.

  • Yes cuz they r good at what they do. Why cant a person who is good at politics become a politician? I understand u are used to Bush's stupidness but in Russia, they prefer intelligence.

What authorianism are u talking about? Getting reelected or not being bush's lackey. If putin was all for the iraq war and kissing bush's ass, u would be singing his praises here.

Who the hell r u to tell Putin to get a real job? Ur not even russian and dont even know him. Again, idc about obama.

  • Actually, Bush looked deeply into Putin's soul dumbass. He also stated that Russia's still the USA's friend even though your hero Putin blathers about and saying otherwise.

He's doing the same dance with Obama too. RT recently promoted the 9/11 "Truth" Movement's propaganda where "Truthers" promote how Obama's just like Bush.

You're telling me how much your "hero" Putin cares about any leader in the West no matter who it is?

  • This is the outright disinformation I'm talking about here:

    watch?v=XBOWAtLhR_Q

Russian nationalist ilk paint Obama like Bush here.

  • Comment removed

  • Third. Putin recommended himself as VERY smart and adeqaute politic. Just listen some his speeches on Davos Economic Forum, or on Munich Security Conference.. (the list is huge..). Oh, I forgot, that US media blocking and censoring speeches, so you don't even know Putin's position on every case..

Fourth, "trifles are important". This point is not for dumb american.. next..

Fifth. What Putin did with country during 2000s is a HUGE work, he practically saved country from disaster of 1990s.

  • Translation = you justify tyranny.

  • Here's where I see commonality between an ignoramus like you whom endorses Putin and some hapless politician at home whom always get elected.

It seems if you were an American, the corrupt American politician whom gets elected to his office over and over needs brainwashed loons like you. They never held a real job, and do not know what the voters think.

Putin is a totalitarian upgrade of that.

  • Moreover. If you have enough brains (oh, I doubt), you will find those "triffles" from 4th point. They are constructing the whole picture, which in the end transforming in the whole clear system. And then you will be shocked how Putin's actions transforming into developing and progress of any sphere in Russia. Because only few people know how conceptual management is working.

That's why Putin will remain in history, and others puppets like Obama, Bush, Brown - NO.

  • I'm also a big fan of setting term limits to incompetent politicians here on the home front in the USA. Congresspeople should receive four year term, Senator three years.

But to you who wishes Putin to be upgraded to be President for Life of Russia, "who cares"?

  • Oh, btw, stop justifying the blatant rise of the return to open tyranny in Russia.

  • I understand and don't even want to talk with such fools, like you. It's useless and a waste of time, and not interesting. Will you argue with 5-old kid about quantum theory?

You can think what you want, call it how you want.. It's not important, who cares? But Russia WILL continue this policy and developing and WILL become a spirit centre of the world in the nearest future, based on morals, respect and truth. Cheers.

  • If usa was a real democracy, bush wouldnt have become a president in 2000 cuz he didnt even win. Last time i check, u gotta win an election before becoming president. This includes Putin.

  • Actually we are not even voting for Putin. We are voting for these course, which already have huge results. Of course, we understand that there are still a lot of problems and for only 8 last years they can't be solved, but the most important is that Russia KNOWS their problems and KNOWS decisions. We just need some time. But during this time there will be always such events like Georgia war or World Economic Crisis, created and orchestrated by US elite to slow this development but we won't stop

  • Igor, ur english is супер in my bad Russian. Dont worry about the others here. Putin turned Russia's economy from the brink of disaster into a booming one. This was also prior to the oil boom. However, there is more to do in terms of social issues.

Americans are just jealous cuz their last prez had a brain of a 5 year old. Could u imagine what were the other head of states thought when bush was speaking? Contrast that to Putin who speak eloquently not just in Russian but German and English.

  • Thanks for understanding. People from various countries need to build their relations on pragmatism and cooperation, instead of creating another "walls" using media lies and brainwashing education, which made americans act like ignorant psychoes, who are just repeating "evil Putin tyranny bla bla bla" without using their brains or at least knowing the ACTUAL position of Putin... That's why americans will never see the actual position of Russia in news, which is absolutely open on any event.

  • And such discussions, like Valdai club, or Yaroslavl Security Conference tomorrow, created only in last years, are very good places for dialogue and adequate analysis of situation.

  • I would love to visit Moskva someday to talk to Russians about politics but i'm scared of the potential racism against my japanese/asian background. However, Russians should see Japan not as enemies but as trading partners or even friends. We want the US out of our country just like Russia wants them out of Georgia. Many Japanese ppl like myself dislike the US policies and feel Putin is a great world leader. Both of countries need to foster better partnership with each other and China too.

  • I was wondering what's your take on Japan's claim on the southern part of the Kuril Islands?

  • The kurilies were always Russian, why does Japan go and say it belongs to them? and why now? When America Sais Russia is getting worst (actually its getting better) saying that everything is Russians fault, and some others seem to want something from Russia.

  • Its because the islands did belong to Japan prior to their defeat of WWII. Japan's previous PM was at fault for not willing to compromise more. I hope the Russians and Japanese can come up with a deal that will appease both sides.

Cuz the American media is bias towards Russia. Many Americans still think the cold war is still on and Russia is communist. Putin is made out to be a dictator in North America. Sad but true. Americans just cant think for themselves.

  • Er, maybe it's because Putin's siding with Cuba and Venezuela? How about something as obvious as that?

  • How about the re-idolization of Joseph Stalin not being condemned by the Russian public?

  • Every country in this world sides with Cuba and Venezuela and trades with them. Only a stupid country like the US does not..

  • How about the fact that they endorse terrorism in Latin America?

Apparently, I'm sure you also think how "great" Cuba's medical technology level is too.

  • Compromise. Of course im biased cuz of my views. However, im pro kremlin. When the US defeated the Japanese following WWII (a fluke imo), at least they were fair to give us our island back. Yes, the bases are unfair but it is irrational to take over one's island just cuz u won a small battle. Russia complains about the West occupying its backyard. How about not occupying ours too? Its a matter of being consistent.

  • the racist ones are the skin head, they usually attack dark skin people, I dont know if they attack Asians, Ive been in Moscow and, before I never seen so much Asians there, they were mostly Chinese, and vary many at the air port, now Asian stile is in fashion in Russia, and rich people build their houses according to fan-shoe, some are kind of obsessed its funny! Most Russians like Asians, I have some friends who are obsessed with Japan and anime, they dont like people that take their jobs

  • I'm not there to take any jobs lol. I I just wanna visit Moskva as a traveler for less than a week. Yes, i'm aware of the skin heads. Watched a documentary on them last week and it scared me from visiting Russia. Ppl should do something about this. Its going to hurt Russia's tourism economy cuz the travelers who have money are the Chinese. U're thinking feng shui lol. Personally, im, not rly dark skin.

  • Igor, there is no "respectable" media in the US. . The American media provides a distorting image of Putin. Thus, the majority of Americans think he is a tyrant trying to take over the world. If Americans would get their news from more reliable sources, things would be different. I'm a Political Science student who studies International Relations. Thus, I've studied a lot about Russia's politics following the cold war. Believe me, russians need putin to feel proud again.

  • There r 2 courses for Russia. The 1st one is that of Yeltsin. Where democracy and appeasing the US are more important that expanding the economy and improving the lives of citizens. The 2nd course is Putin's plan. Expand the economy, improve the lives of Russians and ensure that Russia is back as a strong country. The US is becoming a crumbling superpower under Obama too. Nothing ever gets done there. I know this cuz im Canadian. Obama is NOT change. Putin is the REAL CHANGE.

  • So it's okay for Putin to be re-elected over and over? You're saying that it's OKAY for someone to be a career politician, whom has never worked outside their career.

Putin's just like that, except with a totalitarian cloak.

  • You are bullshit generator, and your comments can be easily denied by elementary facts..

If people will elect Putin, he will be re-elected. What's your problem? Americans always like to stick their noses into other interior deals, while inside US there are much more serious problems with democracy... Typical dumb americam hypocrit..

  • Believing a man from Austin, Texas with the entire 9/11 "Truth" movement. Alex Jones was the guy who stated Russia was going to nuke the USA back in 2000, now you are too dumb really ignore that, and believe every word he says.

  • They are all cultural Marxist douchebags!!!!

  • Long live Putin the Great! If Putin returns, I welcome it because he's very competent and managed to pull the country out from the brink!

  • lol Nuclear war was stopped by Russia! in 1991!) communism stoped by Russia in 1991 ! It was Russia lost its territories that Russians came from (Kiev Rus) Nazis stopped in 1945! Watch for USA man US needs war to get out of crisis...IT IS IRAN and ISRAEL conflict might be fired up to make money on it!

  • Kostya You Must Be Ukrainian Or Jew! Which One?

  • u know in russia every one loves putin! :D

  • Give me a break! Didn't you hear him? Putin cited the injustices against Germany from Versailles Treaty that gave the Fascists their ticket to power. Putin and Medvedyev are both great men. It is up to the Russian people to choose whom they want in the next election. My only complaint is that when Putin retired as Russian President, they should have loaned him to us!

  • How much money you get for this bullshit?

  • who did not see this coming.

  • guess people will vote for who they want in, in the end..both Putin and Medvedev seem to be natural leaders... best of luck to them.

  • Mr Putin considers return as president. Great news!

  • Haha is anyone suprised???

He will win with a land slide in 2012. Putin owns Russia, unfourtanetly

  • You mean fortunately.

  • actually it was various soviet people, most bolshevik leaders n those of nkvd were jews.

  • I think Medvedev is a better President than Putin, but Putin is a great leader too. I hope Medvedev wins the election in 2012.

  • I should hope both of them will remain in power in one way another and men like them.. If only some of thier common sense and gaul would wear off on our effete Western leaders who constantly kowtow to Islam and the needs of all peoples except thier own..

  • Yes! I couldn't agree more with you, I just for some reason feel that Medvedev is more democratic than Putin.

  • Democracy is not rooted deep in Russia. The majority of the people could care less about democracy, they just want their lives to be better. Yeltsin was the most democratic out of all of them, but was the worst for the people.

  • Well, I hope for their sake the people realise that a good democratic and capitalist system will make their life better.

  • Putin rules!!!

  • stalin was a bastard, too bad marshal zhukov didn't take over, he was a hero and a real man of steel, not "stalin" who scratched his fat georgian moustashe while he signed death warrants left n right.

  • Yes he signed a lot of death warrants, but it took ordinary Russian men to fulfill them!

  • You mean Soviet men - not just Russian, but also Ukrainian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Jew, Georgian, of course...His right hand and co-muderer Beria was Georgian too. Dzerjinsky, the "iron man" was Polish etc. etc.

  • Beria was actually Abkhazian. He led the repression of the Georgian National Uprising in 1924.

As for 'Soviet Men,' sure, but these men pledged allegiance to the powers inside the Kremlin, which makes it quite Russian.

  • At that period of the history Kremlin belonged to the country called USSR, it was not owed by Russian federation. Beria was Georgian all right, even though he was born in Sukhumi. But that's not the point. The point is - he was the power inside Kremlin, along with other members of the Government of different nationalities.

  • 5 years would be ok, 6 is too much...

  • We love Putin!
