@SoapManpv Every tourney varies but basically the event was double elimination, which is you lose twice and you're done, so Viscant made it to the finals without losing any matches so for PR to beat him he had to first beat him in the first set (first to 3 or 5, whatever it may be) and that would knock Viscant to losers where they would basically just reset the best of x at 0-0

As for Phoenix, she was the strongest character in mvc3, but in umvc3, the way the new game plays is seriously detrimental to any phoenix team, meter is harder to build and your opponent can drain your guage, couple that with the fact that you have a phoenix with EVEN LESS LIFE than before and she becomes harder and arder to win with. Don't say cheap though, only scrubs use that word, she was strong but not immortal

Why are people bitching about Viscant winning? He made a three hour dvd explaining the fundamentals and weaknesses of his team, and even how to beat it. He said from the beginning he was going to use his phoenix team. He has so much knowledge about this game, its no wonder why he won. There were other phoenix players in the tournament that lost, cause they werent as good as viscant

Watch how he plays he spends most of the time running backwards with Wesker firing his gun and using Haggar to interrupt offense than strike the moment he sees a break. His entire gameplay strategy revolves around retreating and building meter for Dark Phoenix. Every match where his opponent managed to snap Phoenix in and kill her, he lost horribly.

I'll give Viscant credit for the fact he actually at least knows how to use Phoenix, where as most people that abuse her just button mash; but the fact she is such a blatantly OP character and he is so desperately reliant on her to win matches makes his victory here pretty shallow. PR Balrog was definitely the superior player and unfortunately miss timing a few hits cost him the tournament.
