I wish they would have left "Kiss Me" in the movie... but even though Jayne Wisener and Jamie Cambell Bower are good singers, i dont think theyd have done it as well as this...
OMG... Johanna goes crazy lol. And this part is missing in the movie ( well there are so many songs in Sweeney Todd... this one wasn't so important I guess ).
I recently saw the revival of this in Dallas, and I was surprised when the Beadle looked younger than everyone but Toby. In fact...he was really hot. XD His singing voice was amazing as well, and it was definately entirely different from this beadle Bamford and Timothy Spall's Beadle Bamford. Can't say which one I like the best, though I'm naturally biased towards the hot one. ^_^;
I've been reading the text by Hugh Wheeler and it describes Beadle Bamford only as Judge Turpin's "Obsequious Assistant", nothing more. That leaves the character of the Beadle open to a myriad of Interpretations- which would mean Timothy Spall's portrayal isn't necessarily "better" but "different"
OMG this betle is way better then the new one he looks normel. I mean like Timothy Spall scers me even as Peter Petagrowe. he is a good actor I Guess but still. But his singing voise is something WOW!!!
OMG The new Toby looks like my cousen. with the wig on its WOW!!!!
It suits him. Look at the characters he's been portraying lately. Peter Pettigrew, who is described in the book as a creepy rat man. The Beadle, who is supposed to be extremely creepy and rather violently insane-looking. And that character he did in that new Disney movie. Some weird-looking henchman.
Say...anyone ever notice that Spall always plays the henchman or sidekick?
Thanks for counting =P ha, this song got stuck in my head after I listened to it the other day. Can't wait to see Timothy Spall (that's his name, right?) sing this in the movie
Ugh. her voice is SOOO pitchy! She sounds like a turkey

abrahamWCE 2 years ago

I ♥♥♥ the song Kiss Me! I love the way Johanna & Anthony's voices harmonize. It's not the typical harminization, but I like it so much!

....uh..is English your first language..or your second....or even your third?
Anyway... Spall is better. The character is supposed to be creepy and odd, and Spall takes creepy and odd to a new level.

he was the banker in A Series of Unfotunate Events not creepy at all
ozzyboy3 4 years ago
Actually, I found the banker very creepy. He looked like a pedophile and his constant sniffling reminded me quite a bit of Petigrew's innocent act.
Of course, this is just because Spall portrayed him. SoUE has great characters.

I love this scene in Tim Burtons version. Sacha Baron Cohen did a fantastic job with this character.
