Well done in showing people what the 5.0 V8 can sound like! The standard exhaust for the e39 M5 was very quiet which made some people think it wasn't as monstrous as it actually was. That engine has always been my favourite M engine out of the 4. Back in 1999 this was THE most sophisticated engine in the world, yet it sounded very old school at the same time. The best of both worlds. Cherish that car forever, it's a modern classic.

@sshhh12 I think you were ripped off. The headers are around 3-4 thousand, X pipe is 800 USD, and mufflers should not be more than 2000.

@SaniRecords louder and slightly more hp gain becasue the exhaust doesnt have to go through the converters but in most U.S states this is illegal due to the higher emissions output

I got rid of silencers on my M5 and it sounds much better now and now I want to get rid of cats so my question is when u put decats on ur car what did u do with the oxygen sensors???

its still in the same places but the rear sensors are put on an extended mount, sort of a silencer before the sensor, thus cheating it to think that its getting less that the front sensors.

Ian, be your lucky you live in a country that would let you have a loud car. California would not allow this. It should be fun to startle security guards with that exhaust, and to go into multi-story car parks. Does it help you in traffic?
